nice video anyway... modding in STALKER is good (obviously not perfect, but much better than others) a good system that fully supports modding should be: files for textures files for models and animations files for weapon specifications and other settings these files with the same initial name, all in a folder with this name put the folder in the appropriate weapons folder and the game automatically inserts NPCs, containers and merchants at startup in the spawn the settings file should contain the various statistics such as weight and damage, etc., and... the rarity of the weapon, so that the game automatically makes the weapon appear often or not, or if only drops, merchants, or stashes.... etc. all automatic, without merges/edits or anything else its absurd that in 2024 there isn't even a game (not even those of Bethesda, which claims to be a pro-modding brand) with this simple and functional system (also obvious)
I totally get dropping this, or at least pausing it. The way I see it, there's simply so many STALKER mods/challenge runs/games inspired by the series that you could try, so forcing yourself through one that just isn't working for you (or working at all) is way too masochistic. As fun as it can occasionally be to watch someone suffer with a game, seeing someone having a great time will always be more enjoyable.
I'm playing the "Custom" version of stalker Anomaly and I am looking for a way to stop the cooldown timer on fast travel. I cannot find a way to do that. can anyone please help? I want to use fast travel whenever I want to.
want to see what is really pointless? gamma with a broken balancing and economy and removal of mechanics to give a false impression that the repair system is good.
you could try OP2 if youre feeling like enjoying some pain or you could go for some Story mods like spatial anomaly or Incubator and dreamcatcher after it, they arent crazy long but 100% worth playing them.
i dont see an issue in you just not finishing this. even watching this was clear you were in no way having any fun. the mod is porly made and you should not play it. focus on a more fun project
I don't think I could handle the artificially inflated difficulty in this. Different batteries for each device? Seriously? Just walk away before you drive yourself nuts.
I get why you would drop this mod. I've given it long pauses too. To the point that i haven't even finished yet. Constant crashes, hardcore difficulty and bad translation, made me want to give it long breaks. One of the only reasons why i haven't really dropped this mod is because i started with 2.5, and that one was actually pretty fun, less content but it actually felt nice to go through. 3.0 is fun when you already played through it enough tho. Hopefully you a have chance to go back to it.
Unfortunately my friends, this is where our time in OLR will come to a pause... Whether it's the mod itself, the translation mod, or both... the game's performance and stability has been pretty poor. Combine that with the hard-core elements, and what we see in this video (the complete lack of direction).. honestly it's been tough sledding. I had hopes for this, I really liked the OG Oblivion Lost, but this has just not been fun. I have another much bigger project that I'm trying to put time towards, so I can't give OLR the time it needs. For now this'll be this. Maybe soon we can pick it back up, but it may be some time.
Hey Wavey, love your videos man. It makes sense that this is such a different experience from the Oblivion Lost you remember - it’s actually a completely different mod from completely different authors. That being said the 2.5 version of this mod is far more stable and enjoyable and doesn’t have an overload of hardcore mechanics. Maybe that might be worth a try in the future.
I know you have a problem with not quicksaving enough... But I think this is one of those that you do need to quicksave every 5 minutes or after every couple of kills/every single hard enemy kill and make a hard save at every new decision, because we know this is broken as hell.
Yeah man, I played all of 2.5 and it was fantastic. Tried 3.0 and had the exact same issues you are having. Just so many stupid mechanics and things happening. I dropped it after like an hour.
help bro i started playing anomaly with efp on medium difficulty mode and i barely can pass on missions, plus i barely find loot near the main base and i lack of bullets T_T + only 900 rubles.
I think you might have to put that analyzer onto your belt by dragging it onto it, otherwise it could be putting it in your hands IE equipping it as a weapon. Also, it can help to check controls in the controls menu in case there is a mapped button associated (this will be useful later for when you start using vehicles as starting the engine is mapped to a key)
