I spoke to him on the phone (Jay Underwood) , when i was doing mortgage servicing , I had to contain my excitement 😅 he could tell i was 'fan-boying " it out lol
Love this music and Tennessee didn't just sing, he walked the walk. Bombardier on a B29, loving husband and family man. There is a Russian version of "when the roll is called", and it is wonderful, with over 5 mill views, watch it if you get a chance. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DhXpK1d8Usg.html
I’m 65 and these songs were a part my childhood in the late 50s and 60s and still are today. I appreciate the reverence Mr Ford had for Jesus that is more than obvious in the spirit he sang these hymns about Him in.
I remember so well listening to him on the radio then watching his show on TV and no amount of time will ever fade those blessings from my memory!! That all started in the 1950s!!
God is good and Tennessee ERNIE FORD SINGS OF his goodness and love for his children. I am 87 years and marvel at his TEF’s enduring talent still thrills me knowing the Lord as I do and relishing the praising the Lord in song. God rest Ernie in peace.
Wow! Really well done. I hope Richard Dutcher comes around and makes more LDS-themed movies. I know he left the church, but he really understand the nuances of the culture so well, I don't think I've seen anyone else pull it off like he does.
My grandmother had a Tennessee Ernie Ford album and I loved hearing him again and again. What awesome messages that point us to the Lord. Reminds me that we just need to keep our focus on Jesus so we don't stray from Him or feel like we are sinking in the waters of despair.
Need these songs sung & heard by all. Many have never heard Mr. Ford or others sing true gospel music. Too old fashioned for many but our grandparents listened and believed. Not many true believers anymore. SAD.
I remember my Mother listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford and she absolutely loved his voice. Today when I am feeling out of balance, I will turn to FB and let Tennessee Ford, put my world back in place. 🧡
First heard these hymns with my mother as a child, brings back such fond memories of her and the wonderful voice of Tennessee Ernie at his best in the 50's and early sixties. Thank you Lord for bringing me to these old hymns, and you know what I need right now to bring me closer to thee in this time of Covid19 Lockdown to renew my hope and comfort me in your loving arms.
