412teens.org is dedicated to encouraging teens and sharing pearls of biblical truth in a sea of spiritual sludge. We're an outreach of Got Questions Ministries, and we want to do the same as they do: Glorify God by providing biblical, applicable, and timely answers to spiritually-related questions. They do it at GotQuestions.org. We do it at 412teens.org!
The "412" stands for 1 Timothy 4:12, which is "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." Just because you're young, that doesn't mean you have nothing to offer. Teens can be incredible examples of God's amazing grace and love. We believe teens have awesome insights and perspectives that adults could really benefit from.

Salvation in Christ starts when one hears the gospel of Christ. A brief summary of this gospel is that it consists of things we must believe, commands that we must obey to be saved, and promises of God that we will receive after salvation. This gospel of Christ tells us about what Jesus did for all humans on the cross as our Lord, God, and Savior. Once a person hears and believes in what Jesus has offered by way of salvation, they must realize their sin, repent of their sins, confess Him as Lord, get water baptized for the forgiveness of their sins, and live obediently to His commands. Here are a few verses that summarize the gospel of Christ. • The gospel must be preached for it is the power of God unto salvation (Mark 16 15; Romans 1 16). • Saving Faith is the direct result of instruction in God's word (John 6 44 and 45; Romans 10 17). • Saving Faith leads to repentance (Acts 2:36-38). • Repentance leads to salvation (2 Corinthians 7:9-10). • When one has repented, turned and confessed his faith in Jesus (Acts 8:37, Romans 10 10), he is then water baptized into Christ (Romans 6:1-6). • This makes one a child of God (Galatians 3:26-27). • 1 John 2:3-4 obey is commandments if you actually KNOW Him.
Does the creation account seem implausible to you? Or is it the beginning of humanity in the Garden of Eden? Which part of Genesis are you curious about?

@@dr_chedz2229 There was no adam or eve. We know that due to science. We also know there was no world wide flood, and we have zero proof of the exoduses we also have reasons to doubt Noah and Moses existing. PLUS we have a lot of reasons to think the bible is just one more man made religion. Let the "faith" go - its not worth your time or energy.

Witchcraft is practiced in churches now today. God says to abstain from it. Cease Now In Jesus Name. 🔥 Yaweh's Almighty Word Deuteronomy 8: "If you forget Adonai your God, follow other gods and serve and worship them, I am warning you in advance today that you will certainly perish. Hi Vianne, I think I could’ve been under a little conviction as I was in the Bible as Jesus was speaking, Like John 5:40, John 3:18-19, Matthew 15:8-9. Please pray for me. My heart‘s been very sinful and unrepentant towards God and now I feel hardened, like actually. I’m concerned about the unpardonable sin because the person who does it doesn’t even realize it. I need to be born again. And to be genuinely converted. Unless God’s done with me. If anyone sees this please pray. Also that my stubbornness would come to an end.
Dear friend, we're praying for your heart to feel God's grace in your spiritual journey. Please know that the only "unforgivable" sin for believers today is the sin of rejecting Christ until the point of death. It sounds like you might be struggling with some doubts, which is a part of process of growing in our faith. To add some context, please see these commentaries from BibleRef on the passages you mentioned: www.bibleref.com/John/5/John-5-40.html www.bibleref.com/John/3/John-3-18.html www.bibleref.com/Matthew/15/Matthew-15-19.html Here are some resources that may be helpful to you: 412teens.org/qna/what-is-blasphemy-of-the-holy-spirit.php 412teens.org/qna/what-is-the-human-heart.php 412teens.org/qna/if-I-doubt-my-salvation-am-I-still-saved.php
If traditions & councils are still reliable, then it's not SOLA SCRIPTURA. It's PRIMA SCRIPTURA. The Bible above other sources. Traditions & councils are the complementary that explains The Bible in more details. You can't use personal interpretation of The Bible. It has to be based on councils & tradition. Even The Apostles didn't interpret Scriptures on their own. Personal interpretation is dangerous because it can lead to heresy.
Idk if it’s about being accepted? Jesus Christ is my saviour as Jesus Christ already conquered death! I don’t know how to explain it but for a few years I couldn’t read the Bible properly on a regular basis and only until now, I’m slowly starting to read the Bible again on a regular basis. My Christian journey is somewhat ironic. God bless y’all and hopefully all of us Christians get to see each other in heaven one day after we each die. 🙏
It's so true that some Christians struggle to read the Bible due to various reasons. False teachings that cause doubt and fear, traumatic church/cult experiences, etc. Praise God that He has helped you through whatever experiences made it difficult to read His Word in the past! <3 🙏
Who is the Holy Spirit? Love is added to laws and faith. Jesus Christ is believe in gods laws that should find lord as love next if the faith were true..then god forgives and brings those back as good next time of six that did not see god gives us the gift of eternal life even if you do not want it.
Is it Okay for a Christian Believer to Listen to Secular Music? by David J. Stewart | May 2017 1st Corinthians 7:29, “But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none... And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.” Yes, I do believe that it is acceptable to the Lord for believers to listen to some secular music. As Christian believers, we are still a part of the world around us. Most of my web visitors were also raised up in our American culture. I recognize three types of music: RELIGIOUS SECULAR WORLDLY Most Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) is just religious garbage. So you could further categorize between religious verses Christian music if you wanted. But I'll just call it all “religious” music for this article, as our focus is on secular music. Not all secular music is bad. For example: George Strait sings some great songs, like “I Saw God Today.” The song is about his daughter being born, and he sees God in the gift of life. It's a beautiful song. But that doesn't mean I approve of all of Mr. Strait's music, such as his bad song, “Overnight Male” or his adulterous song “Seashores Of Old Mexico.” These songs promote sexual immorality. These are worldly songs. These are very different than George's song “I Saw God Today.” Do you see the difference? So, yes, I do think it is acceptable for a Christian to listen to secular music, but should abstain from worldly music. James Taylor's music is beautiful. I think it is acceptable to hear songs like “How Sweet It Is” and “You've Got A Friend.” I like Don William's song “I Believe In You.” Examples of worldly music would be Rod Stewart's “Do You Think I'm Sexy” and Madonna's “Like A Virgin,” which openly promote sexual immorality.
Is watching movies or tv show or even a video game with lgbt elements in them considered a Roman’s 14 issue? I thought I would ask cause every Christian will have diverse opinions on it and I thought I would ask about it anyway because I do watch movies that have lgbt elements in them because I like watching movies and I watch a lot of movies.
Correct! This is a personal conviction issue. If it is something that you find causes YOU to sin (or negatively influences someone in your circle), then it would be a sin for you. If it is neutral and/or of benefit to your relationships, perspectives, spiritual growth, etc., then it is not a sin for you.
I wouldn't say that it's "needed" for everyone, but as you know from being on the internet, having kindness for others is not something ALL people are inherently apt to do. The Bible reminds us of this fact (that people would naturally rather be awful/hateful than choose kindness/love) and helps remind us to choose something better than our natural tendencies.
One of the last church services I attended, the young preacher warned the large congregation against watching horror movies as, according to him, they can “open a portal for demon possession.” I laughed out loud in church! 😂
In the context of that passage, Isaiah is addressing the wealthy women of Judah and Jerusalem. They were prideful and conceited, flaunting their wealth and putting their faith in their possessions and status. The biblical principle we take from this is that we should not put all our worth and value in what we have (e.g. wealth, possessions), but rather to place our faith and trust in the Lord and His provision. For more on the context of this passage, see this article on BibleRef: www.bibleref.com/Isaiah/3/Isaiah-3-16.html
No the only one I've heard that from was scientology, don't think I've heard about from actual religions, just scientology and its not a religion, that's a cult
Mental health medication is not a moral or spiritual issue. It's simply another method that can be used to help heal the body and brain--under the direction of a doctor, of course.
@@412teens I completely agree and what I was trying to get across was real religious to my knowledge has never said anything regarding meds, only scientology which is not a religion it's a cult!
Yo I have thoughts that I really hecking hate like swearing, disrespecting God,being racist, insulting people, thinking of the most shameless thing that has to do something with me going through puberty and it interfere with my love for Jesus, disrespecting the bible, commiting sacrilege, saying another god's name in my mind.I've been fighting this for a long time and I feel like that these thoughts are normal-like I feel like these thoughts are sin but I feel normal thinking I have sinned through thoughts nowadays but I want to feel guilt as I did before with these thoughts.I saw a video that saying foolish thoughts are a sin so that video reminds me that my intrusive thoughts are sins because they are really blasphemous, that's why I repent about it until now.The thoughts really seem like it's from me,they keep popping out random times,I feel like I'm gonna keep on thinking of them,I really hate them.
If these thoughts are plaguing you and they aren't thoughts you want to have, they are intrusive. God knows the difference between an errant thought you are not feeding and an intentional thought. If you have been struggling with these intrusive thoughts for years, then I would love to suggest that you seek assistance in helping you work through what is causing them and how to make them stop. Christians are allowed to seek biblical counseling methods and even use prescription medication if a doctor determines that could be helpful to you.
What if they've been just plaguing me for 34 days?Like it's non stop,I repent all day.And if another thought pops up what should I do?I sometimes misshear words into something awful,I also read words instanly, not knowing it's a swear word and I repent for it aswell. And what should I do if they finnaly stop? Thanks for the advice btw
@@sp0ttful661 I am so sorry this has been going on for so long! Truly, I would suggest seeking counseling to ease your suffering. There could be any number of reasons why these thoughts persist--including spiritual warfare, trauma (past or present), mental illness, etc. And those are things that can only be determined though therapy. Praying for you to find the right resources that will work for you in your area!
@@412teensIs there any way I can do It at home?Sir I'm just a kid and my gaurdians don't have time and one of them doesn't like me showing that I'm sad like I always have to smile-I'm getting better now anyways thank you for praying for me too
@@sp0ttful661 My heart breaks for you, friend. I am sorry to hear that your parents aren't being supportive of your mental health. That is such a hard place to be in. Hmm... Are you a part of a good church that might offer free counseling or at least allow you to speak to a pastor? That could be an option if so. If not, then perhaps a healthy online Christian community would at least be helpful in getting some support (though that is not a replacement for therapy). We have a Discord server for 412teens that has a really wonderful group of kind, supportive teens that you are welcome to join. 😊
John 5:39: "Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." Acts 17:11: "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." 1Pet 1:10-11: "Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." You are right, while not reading the Bible might not be a sin, not researching it diligently will lead you to destruction. Hos 4:6: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children." For those who might say that this was written for priests, listen for what Peter has to say: 1Pet 2:9: "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;"
This is why we still encourage people to read the Bible--to gain wisdom and connect with God. This a lot more nuanced topic though, as there are people who do not have access to Bibles or may lose their lives by owning one. There are those who have been abused by the church and can no longer read the Bible without being reminded of their trauma. As they heal, it would be helpful for them to know that they need not feel shame about this; there are other ways to intentionally connect with God and learn as they continue on their journey. We have a wider discussion on this topic here: 412teens.org/qna/is-not-reading-the-Bible-a-sin.php
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is God, the first Person of the Trinity, the One who governs and judges and creates. By the Father, we are created and given our purpose in life. He is who we are trying to reach in Heaven, to enter into His presence. The Son is God, the second Person of the Trinity. He is the Prince of Peace, the Redemeer, the King of Kings, the Word and Lamb of God through which Creation was both accomplished and redeemed. He sits at the right hand of the Father. His sacrifice and resurrection are the core of what allows us to reach the Father in heaven, and His return to Earth will mark the full judgement and redemption, followed by His perfect reign. The Holy Spirit is God, the third Member of the Trinity who guards us, guides us, comforts us, and provides insight to us. He is the one who marks us as redeemed, dwells within us, changes our hearts, and comforts us when we fall or struggle. All three are one Being, the eternal Triune God. He is our Creator, our Savior, our King, and our Protector. None can stand against Him. Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess, that He is Lord.
"spoiler allert" i watched a series named "lock and key" its about some kids finding keys in their new home and it unlocks different things like give you the abillity to travel in time, teleport with the help of a door etc, they find out that the keys is forged with a demon souls and they realise that nothing good comes from the abillities the keys offer and decide to get rid of all the keys. its very similar to sin in our lives, sin can be "good" in short term but in the end hurt us or others. and the series shows that so clear that i felt it was a christian message in the end of the story. im glad that i saw that show.
John 14: …8Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” 9 Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works.… Romans 8: 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus[d] from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. John 15:26-27 26 “I will send you the Helper[a] from the Father. The Helper is the Spirit of truth[b] who comes from the Father. When he comes, he will tell about me. 27 And you will tell people about me too, because you have been with me from the beginning. Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. . Matthew 3:16-17 The moment Jesus came up out of the baptismal waters, the skies opened up and he saw God’s Spirit-it looked like a dove-descending and landing on him. And along with the Spirit, a voice: “This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life.”
Hi, I really liked your video!! Could you do a video on whether Christians can/ should celebrate Halloween?? It used to be my favourite, but now I am not sure if it is sinful or if I am idolising it. I don't know if I can't stop thinking about it because God wants me to change my view on it, or because the devil wants to cause me anxiety and make me feel bad for liking something. Just for clarification, I have always been scared of demonic/witchcraft and have never taken part in it and I also don't like Halloween because of the parties/Alcohol etc. I just really like the vibes, carving Pumpkins, watching Hocus Pocus or Halloween town, building a cosy Fort in the living room, and the art behind Makeup. I know it's not easy to find a clear answer, but I really hope you can help me. Have a nice day!! :)
Thank you for your kind words, friend! Regarding Halloween, it sounds like you have a healthy view of it, and we DO have a video about how Christians ought to view Halloween here: 412teens.org/qna/should-Christians-celebrate-halloween.php
2:55 _"what is not OK is drunkenness, addiction, or allowing your actions to harm others"_ What does "addiction" mean here? There are men of an older generation of Evangelicals, of Muslim or 7 D A or Mormon persuasions who will take habitual alcohol use as a clear sign of addiction, no matter the quantities. There are also people who want to discredit a writer or to find a solution for a homeless person by pretending he's an addict. I am both a writer and homeless, so concerned.
This also concerns a big portion of Swedish health care system, since Swedes had a big drinking problem among poor in the 19th C. and overreacted by teetotalist movements.
I'm so sorry to hear of your housing situation! Praying that God provides some solutions for your needs. 💜 The kind of addiction we are talking about is dependency upon a substance--whether physically or mentally. If someone is using a substance in such a way that they cannot stop or function without it, then that is addiction. In this way, addiction has a negative effect on one's life and relationships, and help should be sought to find freedom from reliance on that substance.
@@412teens _"If someone is using a substance in such a way that they cannot stop or function without it, then that is addiction."_ Including medication for high glucose?
There is nothing inherently wrong with taking prescription medication. Prescribed medication, so long as it is being used as prescribed, can actually HELP us function in daily life, so that is not what we're talking about here. Those medications (such as for managing diabetes) are fine because they help the body function better. Needing prescribed medication to help your body function better is not addiction; it is a medical treatment for better physical (or mental) health. If someone is using alcohol (for example) to regulate their stress and anxiety, then that is not going to lead to better health. Does that difference make sense? And while there ARE addictive prescription medications, under medical supervision, they can still be beneficial. Of course, prescription medications might be abused by the user, but that is not following how their doctor has prescribed it. I hope this helps!
@@412teens _"Those medications (such as for managing diabetes) are fine because they help the body function better."_ So, if I use alcohol in a comparable way, helping the body to function better by peeing well before I go to sleep, what's the difference?
