When it comes to our salvation from sin, we are totally incapable of saving ourselves (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Isaiah 64:6). Thankfully, God helps the helpless through Jesus (Romans 5:8). Jesus paid the penalty that we could never pay ourselves (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Salvation aside, this phrase actually does make sense logically. We shouldn't sit and do nothing under the pretense of "waiting on the Lord." When we ask God to help, we have to be ready to take action (1 Corinthians 10:13). We'll never learn how to live if we just wait for God to do all the work.

Do all Christian’s have to cast out demons according to mark 16:17-18? Also can you open up demons for watching horror movies or video games. I wanted to ask cause mark 16 is a longer ending to the gospel of mark and that I just wanted to ask about the part about horror movies and that also applies to dungeons and dragons. Also, is casting out demons a spiritual gift.and is casting out demons a requirement according to the Bible?

Good questions! Casting out demons (exorcism) is not a spiritual gift nor is it a "requirement" to be a follower of Christ. Rather, casting out demons was an act that was performed by Jesus' disciples for the express purpose of proving Christ's dominion over demons. Later in the New Testament, the instruction we receive about dealing with spiritual warfare is to fight with the Full Armor of God through His Power. So today, we are to be prepared for spiritual battles by strengthening our faith and "putting on" the Armor of God.
