I am in the process of a similar build. My concern is the side walls were not originally designed to have walls built on top and to travel at highway speed. Did you add any additional anchors that run from the roof to the frame and how has it held up after traveling with it?
@@928RENTALS we didn’t build for travel. This little micro is going on four years and is still just as sturdy as the day it was built. We have another pop up with walls that are not as well built- no chance for a similar build with it. I honestly think the model popup makes all the difference.
Ich stimme zu 100% zu%! Das war mein allererstes Video, das ich zu machen versuchte. Vertrauen Sie mir, die Videos werden besser, je mehr ich gelernt habe. Danke für die Rückmeldung! ❤️🤓
You guys were very fun to watch, and you really gave me some great ideas for my project , I'm from sc. Just purchased a old pop up for a hundred bucks ty for your video
How is this Driving High Speeds? I'm Looking to go from Imlay City basically to 15 min south of Cadillac on US-131. Definitely don't want to play on I-75 too much
New Sub; Dryden, MI Really Cool! Our Family Camper since the late 90s has reached its end, It's a 8/10 Family: I was looking into doing something of this nature to pull up to Grandpas\Dads\Now My Property in Tustin until I can figure out what to build on the small property which had a single wide trailer since the '60s: its been vacant property for a while now.
How great is that! Know that we towed this pop up to our property, rebuilt it into a cabin and it hasn’t been towed since. We wouldn’t have it on the road, but it has certainly made for an amazing getaway cabin for about 5 yrs so far. Still as sound and sturdy as the day we built it. Good luck with your project!!
Life (and a handful of unfortunate surgeries/injuries) kept me from updating. Happily on the mend now. LOTS more to share. Hoping to find time to share our updates this spring. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Good plan. The Palomino frame was very good for our build and it’s held up perfectly for five solid (heavy snow) winters. Of course, we have another (different brand) pop up that will definitely need its frame reinforced if we try this again. Not all pop ups are created equal!
It was built to stay put. We did move it into its permanent spot five years ago and placed it up on blocks. After five winters of heavy snow, it’s still sturdy as the day we built it. 🙌🏼
Nice job,not sure why this popped up,but kinda funny as i owned a mobile rv service and the company name was happy campers.retired now and been thinking about doing something like this to use when we go 4 Wheeling.i'm all about repurposing
The stove put out great heat but needed to be fed a bit more often when the temps dipped below 0. Upgraded to the Grizzly and moved this one to our newest project, The Huckleberry. (Hoping to make updated videos soon)
Beautiful job on your happy place. I pray that this note finds you well and happy. Have missed getting updates and was wondering if you got your micro atove for heating?
Last year my Gf and I built built a Tiny Cabin on my land here in Northwest Arizona, then we bought and refurbed an old little 12 foot pull-behind camper for her daughter who is at College at UNLV and comes home on long weekends, holidays and through the summer that way she has her own space to sleep in/ do school work, can come and go as she wants and doesn't disturb us. She absolutely loves her little space because all she has to come in the main house for to take showers, her camper has a small toilet room, a microwave and tabletop 9 function air fryer.
I love the blinds u made. Also I thought the stripping on the ceiling would look good stained dark. Maybe better to do that before u put them up, haha....such a beautiful place.
Why did you film using the wrong format? You can only see half of the video. Also when the music comes on, it just blasts through the speakers and then when you turn the music down you can’t hear you guys talking. Just a few things that were noticed during the whole video. Still like your channel!!
I did…later. 🤣. This was my very first try at recording. Music too loud, phone held wrong…I cringe each time I look back. 🤷♀️. The other updates are much better. 😜. Thanks for the feedback (and laugh!)
Thank you! We absolutely love it. My husband says the inside now looks like we’ve stepped into Cracker Barrel. Lol. I’m not sure it’s really that way. Love every moment we can spend in it! 🥰
My question is can a tires handled that much weight second question is have you guys taken this out and does it tilt or is it balanced I mean how did you balance it out I'm about to do the same thing that's why I'm asking
Hi there! We have only moved the micro around on the property. It’s up and on a block foundation now. Good luck with your build! Please share your progress. 🤓❤️
Oh My Goodness !!! I feel your pain on this project. I so cant stand having to undo and redo work. Going backwards is NOT my favorite direction. Congrats on the new stove 😊
The awning was recycled from the original camper. We attached the valley strip that it slides into onto the front of the micro. It gets rolled out and staked at the front of the deck. We never really use it, to be honest, but it’s there when we do.
Good thinking! If you’re planning to travel that’s best. Our little micro will stay put. Please keep us posted on progress. Super interested in seeing how yours goes!
We are extremely happy with our little micro cabin! It’s absolutely perfect for us. If I had to do it over…Hmmm! Not sure. We were learning as we went, so there were many little things that we could’ve done differently, and we have known. Lol. Overall I don’t think there’s anything we would change at all. As for the bed, the dinette extends out even more into an almost queen size width. It’s perfect for the two of us.
I'm starting a conversion on my pop-up and couldn't decide on the outside boards. Now I know what I want. What is the name of that board on the outside?
