Makes me believe iam going to make candles without hustle. 💯💓 The only thing that freaks me out watching your videos is how neat you are 😂😂 Beautiful preparation, Everything in place and effortlessly creating Magic! 🎉 Thank you for this great insight.🇿🇦
My dilemma is, my candle business is going live this fall. Some of my products are limited edition, so I may only need 12 to 15 labels for each product. I can't print at home and online labels won't do small quantities for startup businesses. 😢 I feel stuck
Thx for confirming my experience! I was baffled that I always have to wick down 1-2 sizes from the recommended wick, in order to get it right with this wax. I thought it was me, even though it’s clear that it’s what works best with the wax. I use all wooden wicks in my line and wicking down holds true in my experience.
I am considering getting into candle making business, but i have some concerns, to me candle purchase is a personal thing it is based on how one feels when they smell a good candle. How do i market my candles if it an online business and they can't be smelled. Don't know if i have the wrong concept. I am from the Caribbean.
Thanks so much! Wade!! I haven’t be around in long time. I always keep in mind about be simple on the amount of candles I have on my website and grow slowly as at soon I have control . My problem is that I actual have my full time job plus I do candles and time is a big fact . I just want to share this with you and the audience. I have pray about continue making candles vs just close the website and in 4 of July I sell a 2 big orders. I know is probably not a lot but for me was a big deal , and now I’m back to drive again, but in back of my mind I remember every video that you post and I’m very happy to be back in track. Ty again!!
I have soooooo many different waxes …. Wanted to do soy but soy is not giving me hot throw, so went on to coconut apricot blend and on and on and on. By watching your videos I think im using the wrong wicks. I’m using eco wicks and getting NO HOT THROW at all. Nothing but burning candle smell. Think the eco wicks burn to hot. So here I go down the rabbit hole again, going to order the cdn sample pack from your site. Wish me luck.
I’m going through the frustration of figuring out the whole candle thing. I have every kind of wax I could find. I have at least 300 lbs of different waxes. I also have every size eco wick. Been trying different waxes, different size wicks, different amounts of fragrance. I still can not get a hot throw for the life of me. It’s a lot of work figuring this all out. Everyone has different suggestions and different formulations and I have bought into all of them just to get no hot throw. UGH
Very very nice candles!! Very precise instructions! So u just wipe out with the candle pourer with alcohol no soap n water? What do you use to clean ur work area?
I am new to this business but very excited! Thank you for taking the time to break it down in steps that are achievable! Hope to interview with in the future on the success of my candle business 🎉
Hello, great video. I thought about this concept few years ago, like the painting or pottery painting places it’s all about the experience and taking home something you made. Love it…!
I just wanted to address what y’all said about you keep pushing through and keep posting content. I appreciate that, it looks like you posted this a year ago and I am now just seeing it. It’s great encouragement and insight to this business. So thank y’all for what you do here.
Hi, how to fix the wix.i am facing problems with both kind of wix, thread type wix or the wax wix. It does not set in when I try to make my candles.Earlier I use to make it with beeswax but recently, I tried making candle with paraffin wax but it's too soft that it does not come out that well. Is it good for jar candles or mold ones?
hoping someone can answer this maybe dumb question in a timely manner lol. with these equations, im confused. im clearly using more than 16oz of the solid wax, when it melts it goes down to 16oz, same for when im using a 8oz vessel. are you referring to wax in its liquid state? thankssss
This was great! Thanks for sharing. What an impressive dude... Side hustle hitting 6 figures in three years out of a spare bedroom... Just fantastic. A lot of drive, passion and wherewithal. Inspiring.
I started watching your videos about a year ago+ when I first started my business. Spent all year testing trying many waxes and wicks and ensuring my candle is not only safe but theoretically correct in terms of wax/wick FO balance and not being pigeon holed into the terrible pretenses like “soy wax is safe” and “Paraffin blends are evil!” Almost ready to finally start selling product now that I am confident in a sound candle to sell. Thanks for all you do!
Hey!! I use the CandleScience round 8ox tin which shows to be 3.125" across.. IGI 6006 wax, 8oz fragrance load, brown die. I have REALLY struggled getting a good Hot Throw. my test customers say they can't really smell it. Trying to hone in the wicking.. I have gone up as far as ECO10 which is probably over wicked. I have some LX22 and LX24's. Have HTP's and Zinc Cores.. Any suggestions on a direction for wicking in this size tin and IGI6006 wax?
Adding too much fragrance made my soy wax too strong when burning and the wood wick soot a lot. I had to learn that the scents were strong and didn’t need that much.
Apologies if this is a stupid question, when testing FO load, do people just test in % increments or might there be a need for half % testing to find optimum load?
Great video. Would really like to see a video on vessel temperature throughout the life of the candle. There is a a lot of varying guidance out there but knowing best practices would be great. Example if a ceramic candle has a life of approx 30 hrs on a 3 wick candle and burns at a high of 130 during the mid cycle but then 150 degrees during the last burn is this ok?
