I did everything on this video and my washer is still stuck on sensing mode. I've replaced the shift actuator and inlet valves. However, it's still showing a long fill code. I capped off the hot side and I'm only running the cold side. Does capping one side and using only the other make a difference? Google says both hot and code must be connected and turned on fully for a Maytag washer to function properly.
If you already replaced the valve and the washer is filling properly, I would look at the pressure sensor, which is usually integrated in the control board on these models. If it’s the board I would pitch it. Check the pressure switch hose for kinks and small holes first. Any air leak would cause the same symptoms. Good luck!
Putting this problem out there in case anyone can help. My icemaker will make a full bin of ice, but stops after a day or two. It always gets at least as far as a full bin. The bail arm comes back down as the ice is used. When I pull it out there are ice cubes about 60% of the way out of the crescent mold. I assume they have been that way for a day or two, so they are frozen to the ice mold and won't budge.. If I remove the entire unit and let it thaw, it will resume making ice once I put it back in and make at least a full bin again. I'm waiting on a multimeter to see if that will diagnose the problem.
That is a strange issue! Maybe when the ice bin is full and the ice cubes don’t fully fall, they are thawing and Re freezing, jamming the next batch. Maybe if you bend the arm out a little for an earlier shut off so there is room for the last batch to drop?
It’s been a while but if I remember correctly, after the last code press and hold the button again until it beeps, before the auto diag cycle starts. 🤞🏼
Excellent job. Very understandable. Lol "it takes 2 to make a thing go right" 😅 I have my grandpa's multimeter and was trained as an electrician Apprentice, so i understand alot of your tutorial. Appliances are pretty interesting.
Excellent diagnostic video! I had an intermittent no glow igniter on a <1 year old Amana. All the components checked out ok. Thanks to this video, I was able to troubleshoot and determine the centrifugal switch was not working and found out that the connector was not completely locked in.
Confused" You say flame cuts off after a few seconds? Mine is 3:06, then shuts off? OR, you say it shuts off after about 30 mins, and it could be this or that? That's confusing, and I think you have the answer? Do you, as it could be Sensors, Sensors, OR Coils, BUT if coils, only after a few seconds - VERY confusing? Please explain. Thank you for your video!! joe R.
Under normal circumstances, on high, the burner will heat the air to between 180-220° Fahrenheit then shut off until the air cools down to about 100 -110° and cycle back on for another burn. It should keep doing this for most of the cycle until the cool down at the end. If yours is burning for a little over three minutes and then cycling off, that sounds normal. Just keep watching and if you ever see the igniter glow and go out, without an ignition, then you likely need the coils. I hope that helps. Good luck!
Mine starts has the flame come on for a few seconds then shuts off with an error code of E01. It's a Bosch. I bench tested the flame sensor and it never opens. Could this be why or something else?
If the flame is happening at all it is unlikely to be the flame sensor. Those symptoms normally point at restricted airflow or a bad high limit temperature sensor. Good luck!
I would have saved myself a lot of grief if I had watched this first. Best tip.... check burner function FIRST! Do this before tearing the dryer apart.
Superb video. Clear and concise. Second time watching this. I have an old kenmore fridge and love it. A few months ago, the fridge was not cooling and had to throw away food. Ice was on the back wall. Watched several videos but that evening it was working again. Whew 😅 I am adamant about closing doors firmly and clean coils monthly. Yesterday it happened again. Had to throw away food. No ice buildup. Today, 24 hours later, it’s working fine again. All my ice packs are frozen. Could this be the defrost thermostat intermittently failing? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Peace love and blessings 💫
Thank you! You may be expecting an intermittent issue with the defrost control device. It’s pretty rare for frost to come and go like that. I would also look at the evaporator fan motor and any airflow control device that may regulate air into the fresh food area, that may be periodically failing. That’s a strange one! Good luck!
Went to the website and searched "deconstructing the dryer" but "Not Found" came up. How do I see the video on taking the dryer panels off (particularly the front panel(s)?
Thanks for the comment! This video shows how to open up most of the top lint trap dryers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ryWXncxya3w.htmlsi=viNpSf9_Ar4phX-n Good luck!
I'm so scared to do these simple things lol I undid my connections junction power box thing from the dishwasher and discovered the wires melted into each other , I'ma cut them back and reuse the wires but may check to see if the other end of this is connect to a 3 switch and single socket junction box above the counter, any advice ?
Being thorough is good! But in most cases just trimming back, the copper ends and replacing the wire nuts is acceptable when you find connectors like that.
I should have covered that! It’s very rare for the valve to need replacement. It’s pretty straightforward, just disconnect the gas line and the bracket that the valve is mounted to and swap it out. If you need to reconnect any pipes use some yellow Teflon tape and leak check with some dish soap with some gas pressure. Good luck!
Many Thanks for this Video! Used the information to understand and repair my icemaker successfully! Instead of buying a $250-$300 replacement icemaker I got the control module off of Amazon for $30 in a day. Excellent Video!
Same dishwasher. Same noise. Took out the pump and disassembled as shown in the video. No blockage. No rubbing. Still Noise 😩Seems to be coming from inside the pump motor. Is it a bearing? Time for a replacement?
I’m not 100% sure. I have never used the recalibration mode on this type of washer. Sorry, I can’t be of more help! Common issues are suspension, center bearing leaks/rust, and the occasional cracked stator.
My dryer burner comes on for like 30 seconds then goes off. Takes forever to dry its venting great but my lint trap isn’t getting any lint on it to clean off. Has me frazzled. The clothes are super stiff and wrinkly also
Sounds like an airflow problem. For some reason the blower is not drawing through the drum well. To the burner this is just like a clogged duct. Check all the air seals for your drum, blower housing, etc. anywhere air can escape the drum apart from where it should be going inside the left back air vent and out the right back air vent, through your lint trap. Hope that helps! Good luck!
All good but the video didn't show how do you get to the parts? I cannot for the life of me take off the panel to get to the coil without breaking something.
Thanx for the info.. I'm about to eat all my food, unplug it, and thaw it out!!! Great excuse to throw a party with friends and pig out!!!!!! 🍤🍖🍗🥩🧀🌮🍕🍻🥂🍾🥃🍺🍹🍸🍷🧊
I have noticed that on some of the new units. Lame!! It will probably require getting the unit into a diagnostic mode through the main interface. If you can find the service manual for your model it will probably tell you how to test the functionality.
Should I be getting a reading from the ignitor on ohms? If I do does it mean it is weak and needs to be replaced? I have a Kenmore 400 series. Thanks and God bless!
Bummer! The newer units are pretty complicated. Try the unplug and thaw. Possibly a 10 minute unplug to reset the control board, if there is no signs of frost build up. Good luck!
Sir, I u unplug it at least 24 hour. But after two days fridge compart and freezer compartment temperature go down 14 'C . And after restart it took 3 to 5 hour to start cooling but later on problem still persists 😢😢
If all the fans are working it sounds like you may have a sealed system problem. Not really a DIY repair, fair amount of knowledge and specialty tools are needed. Check the interior fans and make sure the lower condenser coil is clean. That’s about the best you can do before calling for some help. Good luck!
