Hey, Jimmy! Great reaction video. I can't believe she's 16 and is in high school and driving now. The last 4 years or so that I've been following her have just flown by. I feel like one of my kids is growing up. To answer your question, I think it's more convenient to have all the videos in one playlist, but if it's not too much trouble, it would be nice to have them in the order they were made because you occasionally reference something in a previous reaction video or make another comment that's time sensitive. Those parts would make more sense if they were in the same order. Just a thought. I appreciate you creating the playlist.
"Now and Then" originated as a ballad that John Lennon wrote and recorded around 1977 as a solo home demo but left unfinished. After Lennon's death in 1980, the song was considered as a potential third Beatles reunion single for their 1995-1996 retrospective project The Beatles Anthology, following "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love", both based on two other Lennon demos of the same names. I am so thankful for this beautiful video compilation, in honour of Karolina’s 16th birthday. Her family will (imho) cherish this keepsake video as a memento of their daughter’s meteoric rise to stardom. Thank you so much Jimmy for your always kind and generous reactions. Toivo, you really nailed it with three of Karolina’s most beautiful performances. In the third video we hear an explosion of unprecedented emotion in her violin playing. As if Karolina now feels a new sense of superiority over her instrument. I am emotional as I write this because it’s clear now that there is much musical greatness ahead for Karolina. Oh David doesn't just do this song justice he brings it to life so much so that Paul Simon himself saw him perform it and told him that he can now own his song now because this is the way it should have always been sung. Man what an honor that is
I promised myself that I try to avoid long and "clever" comments this time, but I can't refrain myself fully. I have to point out three general things in these three videos that help to make a very attractive artist. Please forgive me if I only repeat that everybody knows anyway. Video 1. You have to have an enlightened and worshipful soul and heart. You have to have positive goodness and humility there - as not to turn into a spoiled self-centered, far from your audience superstar who centers on his/her personal success only. Karolina's religiosity and angelic demeanor that leaps from it helps her to remain down-to-earth very much. And additional bonus - the richness of her soul just mirrors beautifully in her face. Video 2. You just can't be a person of ordinary character and controlled behaviour to be a great artist. You have to be spontaneously temperamental and have unashamed exaltedness and show it fully without knowingly limiting herself. The best artistic expression always happens with a "burning heart" as she so correctly if unwittingly mentioned. That is a huge part of why we love and appreciate her so much. Video 3. In a hall classical performance you must express yourself fully without dancing. This is the case your soul must take over completely. Instead of dancing you have to follow what your soul prescribes and realise it with much enhanced musical sound dynamics and correlate it with the style of the piece. Karolina improves in that context much with every classical performance. A partial answer to Guillermo - I hear great advancement in Karolina's classical interpretational dynamics. The realisation is at its best when two previous conditions are also included and fully used, of course. Please excuse my incoherent ramblings! Cheers!

Thanks, Toivo, that was one of the questions I asked your opinion about recently, I agree with you. Now, of course de Lalo recital was obviously held in an informal ambience, hence Karolina's (and the accompanist's) outfits, so she might have been a little looser than in other instances we've seen her, such as recitals or her 2 orchestral solos. What is undeniable is her progress and her artistic behaviour is perfect for every occasion, whether it's a street performance, an appearance on a TV show, a concerto or recital and worship time. As a musician you know just how hard that could be sometimes. Karolina Protsenko is, as we say in Spanish, and loosely translated, a box full of delights. As for your long comments, I just love them. I'm sure you should retrieve them and have them gathered in one single file that, in time, you should publish as a biography or a fan memoire. "Protsenko, an Angel spreading her wings" could be a working title. Cheers, my friend.
@@Guillermo.R.S. Yes this seems to be a tryout performance for newly learned pieces at Colburn studio event with minimal audience present. Doesn't demean the performance quality though. I suspect she tries out all five movements in such recitals before going in front of an orchestra again. Yes Pamela - we are the small close-knit community and you are certainly part of it. Classical music has its great intricacies that people who only follow her street performances are not aware of. For example - any street music piece takes her less than a day by ears only, while this classical piece took weeks and weeks of learning and memorizing from sheet music. The second movement of this 5-part Spanish Symphony is the shortest and least technically difficult part of the whole. But it is not easy dynamically and stylistically as it oozes Spanish spirit from every note and passage. She also played the first movement earlier (9 minutes) and I suspect she is preparing the whole Concerto for a performance with an orchestra again. Cheers!
Happy birthday to our wonderful Violin Angel! Thank you Jimmy and Toivo. Karolina's composure while playing in church (video 1) is very different from her pop and classical performances. It gives you goosebumps even if you are not a religious person. Video 2 was a carefully prepared surprise by one of Karolina's earliest fans, a motivational speaker and family friend who, to this day, calls her his "younger mentor" and, obviously, her parents. He can be seen with them in the green room. Her reaction when she met her idol was something that can make you regain your faith in humanity. I guess that part, which is still available on Kelly's channel, cannot be shown here due to the almighty copyright. This event took place on March 4, 2022, Karolina was 13 years old. Lindsey was the very definition of class as she famously quoted, “I wish I could tell you that you remind me of me when I was a kid, but you are so much more talented,” she also gifted Karolina a violin, and during her performance always stood back so as not to steal Karolina’s spotlight. However, video 3 is my favourite and I suspected that Toivo would not leave a classical performance out of this celebration. The accompanist is Ms. Grace Han, part of the faculty at Colburn School, where this event took place. Karolina is a community student at Colburn, as Sam Fischer, her private tutor, is also a teacher there. Colburn will most likely be the place where Karolina will continue her musical training after finishing high school in less than 2 years (she is now a sophomore). Karolina is playing a 1900 violin of undisclosed manufacture. Thank you again to my favourite Estonian person and to the best reaction channel all over RU-vid. But then Edouard Lalo's second movement of Spanish Symphony was uploaded and I knew we couldn't do without that. Agree this video is a wonderful snap shot of a young lady and her family and their love of faith, family and serving others with the gift God has blessed them with... I could easily be accused of setting Karolina up on a pedestal with my comments, as could others... but, I believe in this chaotic world, Karolina and her parents represent what should be acknowledged and appreciated... I stand by my comments when I mention I believe Karolina will be named among the greatest performing musicians within time... Hi, James - I try to answer as well as I can, not exactly being a violin expert. The strings of older violins (including the quite historical instrument Karolina recently acquiered) are usually made from animal intestinal material called catgut, but after World War II it was gradually replaced by nylon or steel. The strings have been tuned to represent G, D, A and E respectively from left to right and all other notes are placed around these key notes on respective strings depending of the shortening or adding to the length of the string by fingers. Violinist must know the exact place of every note on a string by millimetre except four basic ones played without fingering. To get an acoustic and resonating sound instead of just plain one the violinist applies a combination of arm, wrist and finger vibrato to as many notes as possible. Being left-handed requires the string order to be reversed obviously. Not that I know many left-handed violinists, hardly any at all. Some videos have it, but it usually is a reversed picture for copyright reasons. To get more indepth description of violins you may want to consult Wikipedia for example. And yes - recommend to be here on Oct. 3rd. It will be the most extensive and versatile video representation so far - three videos from over two year time span melded into one big reaction. You think Earl sings high? In Voiceplay’s newest video - Be Prepared - their featured guest is Mykal Kilgore. He was a founding member of their original barbershop quartet (4 The Love) that became 4:2:five and then Voiceplay. And in that original quartet Earl was second tenor to Mykal’s high tenor!
First, the gentleman with Earl is his husband. He also appeared (with Geoff, Layne and Eli’s wives) in the Boybands video. The part where they were standing around talking about ‘his big wallet.’ Layne and Eli pulled bits from Queen’s catalog of music specifically to tell a story. This was just after Earl had a health scare while they were on tour. Aside from Eli mentioning Freddy Mercury’s interest in mythology, the rest of this comment is based on the video and my own research as an amateur student of mythology: Anubis (Egyptian) (J None), Cerberus (Greek) (Layne) and Yama Nirvana (East Asian and Buddhist) (Eli) are all guardians that convey souls to the underworld. There is visible tension in the video between them and Geoff’s character, Baron Samedi (Haitian Voudou). Baron is the master of the dead AND the giver of life. A person will not die if Baron refuses to dig their grave. So while the others want to get on with it, it’s the Baron’s decision. It’s only right that he is the last one to face Earl before Earl’s return to his life.

Love the reaction. VoicePlay is always outstanding. Geoff has recorded singing in five octaves, lowest note to highest note. He has 3 octaves in full chest voice which is even more impressive.
Earl really does have a singular voice. There are some people that hold that Queen in 5 Minutes is #4 in the Trapped (Billie Eilish), Panic in 4 Minutes Part 1 and Part 2 trilogy.

Thanks for your reaction! This had a complicated storyline that was amazingly told through the music of Queen. Earl was one of the founding members going back to 1997 when they were still in high school. The storyline is based on a health scare he had shortly before he left Voice Play in 2020. Earl is fighting to stay alive while all the different gods are fighting for his soul but in the end he wins back his life (other Voice Players will explain the storyline better than I can in the comments). Yes, Geoff does have an incredible 5 octave voice range. Halloween season is here now and Voice Play are the Kings of Halloween. Voice Play and solo Geoff have recently released some new ones and have some great spooky themed covers coming up for the holiday season this year.
Earl was a founding member with Geoff and Layne going back to 1997. The storyline was done after he had a health scare, appendicitis I think. He left the group in 2020 for undisclosed personal reasons. Different gods of the underworld fighting over his soul. Baron (Geoff) had the ability to decide if it was his time, if not send him back. Voiceplay is the best!
Though Geoff does know how to beatbox he does not do it on his solo channel. He has played harmonica, piano, and used plug-ins for accompaniment to his voice, or voices, when he "clones" himself to show his various ranges within his five octave abilities.
