Atlanta’s own DJ Logic aka Logistical Styles brings you product reviews, tutorials, tips and tricks, along with some performances and opinions on DJ related topics. I cover all kinds of DJing and use all kinds equipment, from beginner to advanced but I tend to focus on budget friendly gear.
I'm desperately trying to find out how to put my eq into stem separation mode (the reloop buddy controller did this out of the box)... have you figured out how to do it yet @Logistical Styles?
I use Mac’s Music program but not the Apple subscription, I love the app but it’s never supported on my favorite controllers. I still use it for ceremonies and cocktail hour. Apple has discontinued the Vision Pro so who knows what will happen.
No hiss issues but I usually connect to a mixer before going to the speakers. On the few times I connect direct to the speakers, I am not using long cables.
Bought it for 86 today on Walmart but only the white one, while i was in my shopping cart to buy both they put up the price on the orange one to 129 . So i canceled it out of my cart
How exactly did yoy manage to get phase to play with your iPad? I have a vague memry of messing around and figuring this out last week... now I can't make it happen! Help?
You have to use the RCA cables that come with Phase. Connect those to the mixer and also make sure the USB cable for Phase is connected as well. I connected it to the hub on the back of my Seventy but you can also connect it directly to the laptop.
This is def a great setup for the price. Can't beat, I'm working on my first DIY booth but actually repurposing some older with new furniture. I really like the Laptop stand idea...
Thank you for the link. It looks like you set up the speaker behind the guests do you experience feedback with the lavalier or do you have a way to set the speaker to prevent that? Sometimes the bride and groom or the officiant are very soft-spoken and you have to turn the mic up causing feedback. Thank you for the video I, I looked everywhere to see if I could find a video with just the Lapel and body pack but couldn't fine one.
I used to have the same issues but now that I use two speakers at my ceremonies, I am able to spread the speakers out so that the sound is even and I don't have to crank the volume up so much. I am usually placed in the rear with my main sound but I will put a second speaker halfway between myself and the alter. The good thing about the Phenyx pro mics is the fact that you can mix and match them. I paired up two of the body packs to one receiver.
@@logisticalstyles That sounds great 2 body packs with one receiver is nice, how is the the connection? I have something similar but one day during a ceremony it kept cutting on and off and I noticed that the groomsman where blocking my line of site. I usually put the body pack inside my jacket I also noticed that it brings an angle connection I guess that will help raise the receiver.
@@logisticalstyles I have the JBL one, my wife did buy this PDP_1_1B for my birthday I tried it in more ways than one with my JBL and it just doesn't work. The feedback is way too much I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but the thing is that it looks well built I like that it has a button mute however it doesn't have a volume control I hope I find how to make it work.
The best Denon gear I ever got is the MC6000 (Traktor version). Built like a tank! I still have it. Denon has been very iffy in the Controller Market. Would be great if they put the same effort as they do with their mixers.
I am trying to figure out what you mean you can connect subs to the speakers they have a battery? Do your subs have a built in battery or are they able to use the thump go’s battery? Because I would like to get the thrash go and use subs with them
I use a power station like a jackery or bluetti to power the subs. The one I use is discontinued but I bought it from Walmart. The subs are connected either with wireless dmx adapters or just a regular DMX cable
😂 I’m sorry but in my RANE Rant I forgot to hold Algoriddim to the fire. This software seems to be so promising and could eventually give Serato and others a run for their money. But Algoriddim please listen to the entire music community as you develop and implement features within djay pro. We’re a community of djs, producers, musicians, developers etc. that are apart of the bigger community and foundation which is HipHop! Ordinary everyday people like myself and millions of others love the Art. But it’s “us” everyday people that consume the hardware and software that’s these big manufacturers market. So lend your ears to Logic and our community! Not just the dj’s you employ!
FINALLY FINALLY!!! I’ve said before and I’ll say it Again….. RANE should have you on their massive payroll list. Logic you are the only “1” that actually hears the complaints, confusion, misunderstanding and misinformation of those of us constantly trying to figure some of this RANE stuff out. I’ve asked RANE as well as you and many others to do more and better tutorials on their hardware. It’s only fallen on deaf ears and then you come along with a heart and passion for djing and great technical skills to try and make sense of it all… Thank You; RANE needs to take an in depth look at your channel and see how many times you’ve stepped outside of your busy schedule and commitments to bless our dj community with tips, knowledge, information, insights, tutorials and more. RANE; you guys need to appreciate and thank this brother for doing what you have failed to do and back it up by bringing him on to the RANE Team!!! Thank you Logic🙏🏿
I can't put Djay over VirtualDJ even tho the fluid bpms are amazing, but still hv some stuff to be desired. The integration on djay still has a way to go.. especially in the screen areas.
I like your skill set brother. There’s no other controllers that feel better than the Rane Twelve MK2’s for me. I keep trying others but end up saying these are my favorite. I guess that’s that old school coming up on Technics feel about them that does it for me.
I am just about to order a VS12 and I am in the same situation as you were. I have an S12 and yes the specs look the same except if you look at the manual of both near the end, the S12 lists the amp and speaker at 4 Ohm while the VS12 list them at 8 Ohms. I would be surprised Harbinger would have moved to a 8 Ohm amp/speaker, which my limited understanding would result in a more expensive setup except if there were reliability issues with the S12 setup. Maybe this is the reason for the price hike? I wrote to Harbinger customer support asking about this reported difference. I have had my S12 for a couple of years and don't use it often. It has been a good performer for small bar/outdoor shows.
I didn't notice that difference. I'll have to take another look at the manual. I've had great experiences with both speakers while DJing small events. You won't be disappointed with the VS12.
Thanks for all your DJay Pro test videos! Your Mixon 8 review was very insightful. Thankfully my unit stabilized after the update to v5 (after embarrassing me at a wedding) so I’m still rocking that 😊
So do they sound about the same what do you think is the real rms power ? Is this units subswoofer bulky and heavy ? For the handles will it last or do they feel easy to break since it’s build in handle of wood cover by paint plastic or something …. I have the 18” but it takes away so much space and I only use it indoors 😅 heavy to take up and down the car but does have wheels .
I used to have a pair of 18" subs but it was overkill for the gigs I do and they were too heavy. My main system is the RCF J8. I bought these Harbinger subs to go with my Thump Go setup. They are pretty small and compact. The handles are carved into the side of the speaker cabinet. They can't break. I honestly think both models sound the same.
******Update****** Two days after I posted this video, the 5.2 update for djay Pro was released which included Phase HID support. Stay tuned for an updated test
This was a great video my DJ brother logisticalstyles I actually jumped from serato to DJ pro because of the loop functions and capabilities of DJ pro it looks everything from the 70s to the current but I was doing just that using my serato sticker vinyl with DJ pro and the drift I didn't mind it too much because I'm an old school DJ keep your eye on the on your marker that's all but definitely informative 🎚️🎚️🎚️💯✌🏿
Yes, I only use Bluetooth when I am playing music for myself but when I am doing a gig, I always use a cable whenever possible. Bluetooth is nice to have as a back up solution but I'm alway skeptical of it.
Thanks. I really didn't think to do that at the time. This was an informal spur of the moment video. I may try this test again to see what needs to be done to get a good signal from the serato vinyl.
