Who are we? Well we are a group of old farts who love adventure! From hiking to camping or where ever the life takes us, we love to go explore. We love our state and the rich history behind what has made Northern Maine unique. You will see most of our adventures take take place from north of Bangor (yes there is life beyond Stephen Kings hometown)! Plus you may get some cute videos of our cats as well. So what is a Ditch Chicken you might ask? Well it is a Ruffed Grouse/Partridge. Remember, Life is good when you're a little crazy!

Iron heritage Savage Axis 22-250 for my cousin of mine that passed away. I took it out and fired it against my Ruger number 1 and my 1966 Remington 700 both of those have super high quality leopolds... That damn cheap Savage axes with his cheap norinco scope, out shot both of them! I picked up a Ruger m77 heavy barrel 22/250 let's see if it can outshoot that Savage?

Had mine purchased 2017 go into slamfire mode, it in quick succession emptied the magazine of 27 rds with many firing before being in battery. After I cleaned brass shrapnel out of my face and gained my composure i promptly boxed and sent a email to kt to have them send a package slip. Two weeks or so later i received the arm back untouched with a work order stating all the repairs that were completed. NONE of which had been done. firing pin was still inside arm broken into two pieces, almost three. I once again emailed with a to be expected ticked off email of how i would move there to be a competent smith and fulfill repairs to a satisfactory standard. after the second and ACTUAL repair this pos example still does not function worth its weight. its a GEN 1.5 essentially. they didnt replace the barrel. the slide. as stated in rep order. only the broken firing pin and pin spring. The hammer to firing pin in battery geometry is so bad. I explained why the pin broke in the first place to no avail. The hammer comes in contact w F pin at something like a 40 degree angle and in turn flexes the firing pin at its lightning bolt shaped zig zag. mem part? Took me all of 5 minutes to figure out. A complete failure of what was close to a great arm... Its a jam O matic on every magazine. may fire 20, may fire 3. never know. Hands down the worst firearm i have ever purchased and or owned... I would like it to not be buttttt.

Thank you for watching and sharing. I loved the idea of this firearm but know have a complete lack of faith in keltec. Thankfully you are safe as I have spoken to some gun shops and they had worse things happen to customers, resulting in injuries.think it is time for Keltec to admit they failed with this and recall all the older models.

Thanks for the video! How shallow is the water at that site? Looking to launch a trailered boat in there.
@DitchChickenAdventures
@DitchChickenAdventures Месяц назад
@@mattdelaflor9675 I would say it’s about 3 to 5 feet deep depending on rain and how dry the summers of course. Not sure how well the trailer would work with backing in because I think the water was fairly shallow for the first maybe 10 to 15 feet. At about a foot or two deep.

It is a great trip in to visit them. If you have the right camping gear, you can camp out at one of the sites along the way. Popup camper or tent is usually the easiest for many of the sites.

Lombards were built in Waterville Maine and my grandfather who lived close by to the old one on display near the bridge told the city that people were stealing parts off it. They covered it up, but a few years ago they cared more about putting a wider road in and removed it. The city of Waterville just wants a new image and cares little. About their history or heritage.
@DitchChickenAdventures
@DitchChickenAdventures Месяц назад
It is sad that people act like that. There is so much great history this state has and yet so much is never taught. Waterville should be proud of Alvin Lombard and what he did for the industry. Great inventions. This is why we work hard to promote the museum and volunteer when we can. Thank you for sharing.
