Join me for a wide variety of easy to follow watercolour tutorials suitable for everyone! I am a self taught water colour artist exploring all kinds of subjects from florals to landscapes in loose, realistic, and even abstract painting styles; there isn’t much I won’t have a go at! I am having so much fun on this journey and I get so much joy out of teaching others what I learn! I go through my tutorials step by step so even a beginner water color painter can follow along with me but, most importantly, enjoy the process and have fun!
Thank you for this tutorial. I loved watching you work in putting down your paint and also picking up the color. I loved that you made a few mistakes and just rolled with it. Perfection is over rated and it's good to see someone not berate yourself. Your tecnique is really helpful and it finally makes sense as a beginner. I am going to try this soonest- hopefully tomorrow!
im so sorry to arches but i will not pronounce their name correctly...bc it very literally and exactly is how we germans say and pronounce our word for "ass". it feels very disrespectful 😅 very interesting video though, ive always wondered....
I'm sitting here watching you while I scratch my dog's head. Then she heard a dog barking in the video and thought it was here so she took off barking in the other room.😂 I'm not much of an artist and mostly do cartoons but these look so beautiful I just have to buy myself some watercolor paints and brushes. You have inspired me.❤
Where I live in Arizona, the paper dries so fast, it's hard to do washes. Sometimes if I use too much water, it really saturates the paper and makes it wet all the way through to the backside. I had to paint this scene 10 times to get one halfway decent one. Watercolor is MUCH more difficult than I expected it to be. Thank you for the simple exercise, tho!
This is a great teaching vid for us beginners. So many simple tips, tricks and techniques. Thank you, miss you!! Hope you are doing some better!?😃👍And Happy Mother's Day! 💜🌹
Thank you so much for sharing your video with us! I am not a loose painter, and have really struggled with it. I think this video helped me start to loosen up some, and eventually, I may get the loose thing down!
Wow Sally! Thank you so much! I also did a more in depth tutorial on tips for roses you might like linked below. When I first started watercolour, roses were my biggest challenge. Now it’s peonies😳 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4RGl3rKRXeE.htmlsi=ZhmtaOk5vT7MUO-m
Thank you Erin, I learnt how to draw this cute little fox cub by following your tutorial - he is so cute! I love how you taught us how to layer his fur and add shadows. Hi from Australia!
Although this video is 2 yo I’m just seeing it. Q: I have that same plastic palette. What do you do so that your paint doesn’t bead up on the plastic surface. I cannot get a puddle of paint. Just little beads and a lot of paint staying in my brush.
Hi Jana, I’m sorry for such a late response but I haven’t been well. I’m really happy you liked the video! As for the palette beading, it’s very annoying but I don’t do anything, the beading stops after you use it for a while. Some people rub it a bit with one of those magic erasers but they are abrasive and put tiny scratches in the plastic which stop the beading but also causes more staining which can skew how your colour mixes look in the palette
Erin thanks for your reply. I’m going to try a porcelain palette. I’m sorry you haven’t been well. I know that can mean a lot of things. I’ve experienced all kinds of “unwell” from cancer to heartbreaking kids to sudden death of a loved one. Im 70 and one thing I know is in spite of it all… tomorrow keeps coming and with each day a little more hope. Life will be beautiful again and the hard times refine you to be able to more fully appreciate the good times. Ok that was 5 things I know. I’ll also add 3 more…love Jesus, floss daily and wear sunscreen.
@@janabell7724 oh Jana, thank you so much❤️ You’re kindness has brought me to tears. I’m happy to know that, in spite of all your “unwell” times, you have come through it all. I pray for the strength to get through this and that one day I will be able to lower my pain and the heal from the toll this illness is putting my body through and will be able to paint again🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I was going to suggest a porcelain palette and in the meantime, you could even just use a white plate. Thank you again for your kind and thoughtful words of encouragement 🙂❤️🙏🏼
I'm learning how to make handwritten cards to express thanks and gratitude...your water color flowers are EXACTLY what I luv and wanted to learn...U rock, keep it up!!
I love this! This is my favorite kind of painting to do. I would love to receive a card like this. There was so much to learn from watching you paint it. It’s not just about slopping a bunch of colors together. I’m enjoying your channel. Thank you so much for your lovely content.
I loved this painting! I followed along with you and you had wonderful instructions!! I am new to watercolor painting, so I greatly appreciate how you help us through every step! Thank you and I will be following you, Erin!!!❤
I’ve watched so many videos to learn, but tonight is the first time I’ve actually painted a flower to my satisfaction. You explain and demonstrate so well. Thank you
Oh thank you so much Isabelle🥰 I hope you enjoy my channel. I’m unable to sit and paint right now due to some bad back issues but sure hope to be up and painting again sooner than later❤️
Thanks so much Ann🥰 I’m so glad you liked it! I do have a play list with other beginner abstract florals here: ru-vid.com/group/PLH2bnAEJU6ao75ZE5_DR73JRb7jHTUDbY&si=XbRRGhFFt2889xPD I’m going through some health issues right now and, sadly, haven’t been able to paint in months so hopefully this play list will have a few you will like until I get back at it. I also have play lists for loose beginner florals and others too. I hope you check them out and find them helpful🥰
