You can actually update the navigation system at Mazda service center to get the turn by turn directions projected to heads up display. I made them install Android Auto and Apple Car play on my car and when they installed it, they updated the other software too I believe which gave me that Mazda 6 like turn by turn navigation to heads up display. It costed me $550 in 2022 to install Android Auto and Apple Carplay. But I never regret the decision as it improved my navigation and overall infotainment in the car.
That’s a solid upgrade. I did similar on my 2016 MX5, got apple CarPlay installed which was made available from 2018 onwards. Made the world of difference. Thanks for watching 😊
Hate to say it, but I agree with your aspects David. This looks like a poverty pack i30 to appease the penny pinchers. Not that penny pinching is a bad thing, but you can tell where they have scrimped on areas inside the cabin that looks a bit 'meh'. Shav
For sure but also I guess there’s plenty out there that just need a tool to do a job, and this fits that bill. In saying that, a nicer interior would go a long way. Thanks for watching mate
It does what I want for an affordable price. I may trade it in for a more premium model in a couple of years but this thing is perfect for urban driving and spacious enough to fit my large body.
Mine is coming in 5 days!I ordered mine from Skoda since i kinda hate the looks of the new Kodiaq so i'll just be using this as my family car for hopefuly 4 years at least
David, your final comment pretty much nailed it. I've been actively planning my purchase for a couple of years, have been back and forth on the RF vs. ST question so many times I've lost count. Countdown is down to about 2 1/2 months and I really think it is going to come down to a coin toss, or alternatively, which rig on the dealers lot garners the strongest reaction. Have lusted after a true open roadster for--literally--decades, yet... Had a Fiat X1/9 many, many many moons ago. Loved that car. All 69HP worth. About the same time a buddy of mine acquired an MGB and had me drive it as he didn't know how to shift for himself--yet. I've been chasing that high ever since. So... Maybe soft top? I think. Or not... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Kinda sounds to me like the heart knows what the heart wants! Least you can’t get it wrong 😊 thanks for watching and let me know which one you end up with!
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo ...And the heart wound up with a white GT MT '24 softtop. I think I can safely say after 10 days that I absolutely made the right call. I wondered if after all these years of planning, building it up in my mind, that there would be no way it could possibly live up to my expectations. Nope. Didn't live up to them. It exceeded them. By a wide margin. Power? Ample. Infotainment (a real concern given the limitations of the packaging and physics)? Not knock your socks off, but the Bose system is entirely adequate even with the top down at speed. And the control interface definitely grew on me. Better to use when actually driving than the system in my wife's Camry, once I learned my way around. The rest? Ride? Handling? Braking? That sweet, sweet shifter and transmission? Whan an incredible piece of engineering. Hats off to Mazda. That they could do it at this price is even more incredible. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go drive...somewhere. Anywhere...
@@bscherrer3411 that’s sensational! Congratulations mate and really appreciate you coming back to give us an update. You’re right, time to drive for any reason. Maybe time to see if the milk from the third town over is better than the second town over. Can never be too sure 😆😎
Just bought a manual RF in Ceramic Pearl. I like the looks of the RF whether the roof is open or closed; to me it looks like a Lotus Elise. But the soft top looks great too. I have bursitis in my left shoulder, so I had concerns that trying to operate that heavy soft top with my left arm would just aggravate it (I'm in Oz too, so RHD). Very happy with my RF, only done 15000kms so it's basically like a new car. And that manual shift is one of the best I've ever experienced
@@user-em7pe8jj4u that’s awesome mate! Must have been a surreal experience getting to see it in Japan, knowing you’ll be blasting around home soon enough. Bet it’ll love some Irish B-roads 😎
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo Absolutely! Has been a dream since I was a kid to go to Japan, buy a car and bring it home! This is more exciting than Santa coming!!
Thanks for watching mate! At the time of making the video I saw examples of people paying overs hence the just shy of 80K good to hear that’s stopped though.
@@444aleman no worries at all, mate. If you’re allowed to drive a RHD where you are then you’re probably better off doing that, rather than having to go through the hassle.
I’ve ordered the 2024 mx5 and I don’t yet have confirmation because Mazda Australia doesn’t know yet not even the exact price. I can’t get the tan interior or the tan roof in the manual soft top. Where did this one come from and when?
Hey mate, this came out in 2020. Was a limited run for the 100 year anniversary of Mazda. That’s a bit frustrating about not being the price. As far as I know the soft top is just one colour here, unless you get the cherry roof which this one has but I don’t know if that’s even a selectable option.
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo ok 2020. I thought I might have missed something. Yeah as you would probably know the Mazda website still says “new model coming soon “. Yeah apparently you can only get the tan interior for the RF and only in automatic 😟. I think it’s probably still worth the wait as it has the updated information and a couple of other small things. Thanks for getting back to me. Regards Dave
As I watched this vid, I started to think the car looked really familiar. Sure enough, it’s the very same car. Literally picked it up a week ago. 😂 PPF then race track for me… she’ll be thoroughly enjoyed. Great video!
Haha small world! Cheeky Steve hadn’t even told me he sold it! Glad you enjoyed the video and awesome to hear she’s going to live the life she deserves! Thanks for watching 😊
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo I can’t get over what you guys are paying for this car over there, my gawd. I guess for any car for that matter. That car in Canada is approx 150k AUS dollars.
Thanks very much mate, appreciate the kind words 😊 F-Type will definitely go down as one of the greats. Feel so lucky to have been able to experience it.
Hello David, I hope ur doing alright; Watching ur video, right now. Please, could you film a new driver vid, just driving the streeets where you are? I never get to see, Australia. ( i know a drivers vid, is what ur doing in this vid. Your fan, The Knack, Get the Knack, My Sharona. Shaun🦉 of NYC🗽
Not a bad review; not great either. VLOGGERS who just talk to the camera won't get as much attention than say what Paul is doing at @carexpert now. Sure that's a team but showing you the actual car and all about it vs talking about it; I know I'd rather watch as if I was at the showroom myself or better. Have a great way to present your vids, maybe you can change it up somewhere in the middle, cover some ground that the major players forget due to their high status :) thanks for posting, I'm keen on the incoming upgraded R model once revealed in a couple of years or less!
@@DavidBournePhotoandVideo Idk, in my eyes at least for this generation the black fits better, car looks more aggressive on every aspect, dont get me wrong i love white, i have a white 10th gen si, but black for this new gen flows better imo
