I agree. With there being a new universe I thought we were just gonna have a grounded story only taking place in this universe. But we’re going back to past events? What’s the point even
The thing is for me is that it’s not just Sareena this for all kameos where people just use the same combo not just with her but with other kameos and to me it gets repetitive it makes the game feel lazy especially online so what if it’s the most optimal at least in past games people would mix it up
I have always liked raiden and liu kang since the very first, but in every mk game, i always mained someone differently besides them, but i still play them both no matter what tiers they are
those are universal concepts not character specific, so when you say a character takes no skill to play you imply the character specifics, which is literally true , especially if you play other fighting games, ngl yall mk players rlly hype yall selves up when it comes to skill like mk isnt the most cookie cutter fg franchise out there, it’s arguably the easiest fg to get into and im not even tryna downplay, its been like this since mk9, the gameplay style is designed to take less skill than the average fg
It’s not the fact that you can use her in a combo. It’s the fact that when you hit your enemy, the blade still come back. Like I mean scorpion And if I get a teleport off before the blades hit me and I’m able to combo off of it, the blades still come back even though I should’ve gotten the punish
Listen, dawg... i hear ya, and im not disagreeing with ya, necessarily. However, like many have pointed out. You're talking about general game sense, nothing specific towards characters. The phrase "That character takes no skill to play" leans into more of a broader sense. Not meant to be taken so literal. Every character takes skill, especially to win against a half decently competent player. Although, there are without a doubt a number of characters that have incredibly low risk for insanely high rewards. Their kit provides plenty of options for mixups, punishing, safe on blocks, 50/50s, range, protection from range, closing the distance, creating distance to low poke and avoid punishes, setups, and they're easy to pick up for players all across the board. It's not just other characters have more complex movesets, or combos. It's that these characters that take "no skill" have a crazy amount of options, almost all of which are equally as effective, efficient, and most of all... easy to execute regardless of the player's position due to it having range, speed, decent to high damage combo potential, can easily adapt mid pressure and a reliable supply of guessing games available. Even the option to retuen to neutral. Again, low risk, high reward. They're not unfair or unbeatable. However, as I've said before. These fighters are easy to pick up across the board, regardless of skill expression or experience. With more than enough easy yet headache inducing options to learn within 5min of bullshitting in practice to barely scrape by a win. Other characters have attributes to make up for. However, they don't have those and then some. Like the others do. Hell, some fighters cant even make viable combos without cameos. It's laughably easier to beat a person learning Reptile than it is someone learning Raiden. So, while there can be those skilled Raiden players who not only have good game sense but use his whole kit to the highest level with someone like, idk, Janet Cage. (I dont play Raiden) I still may lose to some goof using Raiden and Sareena just because I guessed 2 50/50s wrong, that lead the single 45% combo he learned on YT just 3 days ago. Thats not skill, thats simply repetition with a pinch of luck. Im not coping, either lol i can take a lost. Im simply clearing what I see as a common misconception of what translate into "skill" I remember people saying the same thing in MK11. Everybody takes skill to play. But are we really going to pretend Baraka took skill? Learn 2 combos that are free and easy to execute consistently, and you win. If you've ever seen an experienced MKX Nimble Reptile main, you'll know the difference. Smoke, Raiden, Sub Zero, Baraka, Johnny, Peacemaker, Sareena, Frost, are just a few characters that comes to mind that have high skill ceiling potential, but very very low skill low as well, that can carry you for a decent while, if you simply spend 10min learning the basic tricks and playstyles these characters have available to them. But the skill becomes more apparent when you're capable of adapting, combining, and implementing those seemlessly, especially against experienced players who are playing to counterpick your character. If you made this far.... why? Go do something. Hit me up if you want to throwdown on MK1 🍻
The logical way would be simply from another timeline. If this bi-han/sub zero died or turned it wouldn't make since for subzero to still be there. I just want noghtwolf back. Lol. My thoughts
I'm just sayin. As a Mac main. I can feel the anger and rage whenever people think they've killed me only to be met with more i-frames than a dark souls dodge roll. I can agree it is certainly one of the most annoying if a person can time correctly
Sometime after the release I noticed sometimes when Bi Han gets a fatality done on him he says “I’ll be back”. He’s the only character I play with, so I’ve been smoked by all characters (no pun intended). That wasn’t in the game the first couple of months the game was out.
The #1 Cringiest moment in MK1 is Ch15 of the story. Multiverse BS infecting MK's story once again. #2 Cringiest moment was Raiden defeating General Shao/Edenians keeping in mind that these people have been fighting for thousands of years (Kitana is 10000 years old, Li Mei possibly older), and Shao is a general with way more experience in Kombat while Raiden only recently acquired his powers and has only been training for a fraction of the time of the Outworlders lifetime.
It's an homage to older mk games that could do that. Mk1 is just a big beautiful homage to the fans for all the decades they stood around loving the game. That's why they brought back almost all mk characters in one form or another.
