Tractors, and farm equipment, raising and caring for livestock, logging and enjoying the outdoors. Left Georgia after my Mom died of lung cancer and moved to work on the family farm in PA.
@evanaustin2636 Thank you Evan. Yes rain can be an issue. Been trying to get something built for 4 years now and wasn't have any luck. Everything is so expensive anymore. I found this carport on Dale and bite the bullet. Not really what I wanted but better than nothing.
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Good evening Ed. Yeah my plan is hopefully to get it closed in. Main thing is they are out of the weather somewhat. Hoping at least to keep the baler dry.
Garden is growing! We've gotten some good rain in the last week, we were really needing it. I feel bad for the people in the plains, they've got a mess. How has the weather been in PA? Thank you for sharing, Robert! Hope you have a good Independence Day!
@evanaustin2636 Been really wet the last few days. Had a really good deluge yesterday. Pretty cool here today, wearing a long sleeve flannel. shirt. Hope you have a great Independence day as well
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Good morning, Ed. Since my surgery, it's hard to get much done now. Hope I can at least get started this week. Will definitely get some pictures and videos to post.
I know. It's just disappointing. I just don't have the energy I used to. I'm a couple of months behind and have so many things I want to get done. I'm still hoping to get some more fences put up, but I may have to wait until fall.
@@Pennies_on_the_dollar It's still in the boxes. Haven't even opened them yet. Hope to get a load of gravel this week for the base, then I can start building it.
You've been busy! Looks like you've got some serious hay to bale! Carport will be nice when you get it put up. I like that wood chipper, looks like it does a pretty nice job! Hope you have a good week, Robert!
Good evening, Evan. I haven't been able to do much the last two months because of my surgery, so I'm way behind. May and the first part of June were really wet, so the grass got really tall. Some of these windrows are huge. Gonna have to go slow baling. It would be nice to get the carport up so I can finally have a place to keep equipment out of the weather. The chipper is nice. Has a hydraulic feed and will chip up to 6" in diameter. Use it mostly for small branches. Bigger stuff I cut for firewood.
Very beautiful Mr Robert the snow in the woods always brings a smile to my face!! Hope you are still helaing well and continuing to the road of full recovery and energy!! Thank you sir for bringing us along!! 👍🏻👍🏻😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸
You have a beautiful place, Robert! I do get tired of winter, but the snow in the woods is absolutely beautiful. Especially the shot with the stream flowing through it. Thank you for sharing, Sir! I hope you have a good one!
Thank you, Ed. My surgery has put me way behind, and I get worn out really quick, so I'm not getting much done. It has been cold and rainy, and I haven't been able to cut hay. Our high today was only 56°F and rain.
@@Rdrake1413 gives you time to heal up! I'd like some rain right now. Just got the new to us big baler in the shop today. Got some parts ordered, might be here Friday 🤞 have other parts to order yet, hopefully tomorrow... 85-95° the last week and grass is more than ready to cut...
I have any seen one out here at the farm. My Dad used to see them all the time in town. Hate to buy more feeders and have them torn up. I've been pretty lucky, so far, the first time they have torn up anything.
Nice job again on that fence, Robert! Your posts look really nice all painted up! Glad you're starting to feel better, I hope that continues! Hang in there, Sir! Hope you have a good one
Hi Robert, glad to see you back, the green posts looks great, glad you feeling better, if I remember right you had a shoulder or back problem, glad you are OK
@@Rdrake1413hopefully they got it all!! Cancer SUCKS!!! My mom has it again. Inoperable this time. Stage 4, but they have no idea how much time she has.. but she's doing pretty good so far.far. Hopefully you beat it!!🤞🙏🙏
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin I'm sorry to hear that, Ed. I had seen the video about your Mom having cancer I lost my Mom to lung cancer in 2020. It's a horrible disease. Praying for your Mom. My scans came back negative, but Dr. told me I have a 50-50 chance it could return.
Got an old 8n that runs absolutely great, just have to replace several seals and also figure out the 3 point leaking down. I’ve come to the conclusion that I really need to buy another 8n to have one running while fixing the other. Jubilees are running about the same price in my area, so thinking I’ll get one
Have a TC33D super steer I bought new in 2000. Parking break light stays on as you mentioned. How difficult and what part would I need to fix the problem? Thanks
It was a pain to replace the brake light switch. Both of the brake pedals arms are in the way, and if I remember, there is a hydraulic line there also. It can be done just need to be patient and take your time. Not a job I'd want to do very often. Think the switch was about $80 from Messicks Part#86531138 just looked it up and it's gone up to $384.28 ridiculous
Absolutely breathtaking Mr Robert, man it sure is beautiful in the woods with all that snow!! Im sure y'all get tired of it after a while, but seems Grace could run all day in it 😁😁😁 That tree with wild formation on it, makes me think of a higher power at work 😉😉 Thank you very much sir for bringing us along!! We are gonna be 70 degrees today, no "difference" in the seasons anymore 😉 Hope you have a great weekend sir!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you, Nelson. I seem to never get tired of walking in the woods and seeing God's amazing work. Grace does love being out in the fields and woods. I thought she wouldn't like the snow, but I have to almost drag her home. We go out for hours walking around the farm.
Thank you for sharing that, Robert! Winter can be miserable, but it can be so beautiful too. Your dog sure seems to love the snow! Hope you have a good one!
Thank you, Evan. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Grace loves the snow. When I get home from work, I take her out for a walk around the farm. We are out till dark. I just about have to drag her home.
That sucks. We have one of those on our 8n that we bought from a store called Central Tractor back in the mid 80s. Unit has been rock solid and worked like a charm. The original bracket you removed was part of the original style of swinging drawbar those tractors had. The original swinging drawbar actually integrated into the 3 point hitch arms and had a lock bar that would hold the arms down. A lot of those got scrapped over the years
@@Rdrake1413 The original style didn't have a bracket that went around the PTO. The original style was different. Hopefully the link doesn't get stripped. fordtractorcollectors.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/swingbar.jpg
Man yeah Mr Robert, good to see ya!! I could watch you weld all day, that was very nice!! Those braces turned out amazing!!!! I am so glad you were able to get that back section wrapped up!! You do amazing work, can't wait to see more!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you, Nelson. Wish I had a mig welder. I'm getting pretty shaky using a stick. When I first got this welder, it did good, but lately acts like it doesn't have enough power.
@@Rdrake1413 You make it look easy, they are nice but the slightest wind and it's grinder time!! Oh no, I wonder what has changed? Regardless Mr Robert those welds looked very nice😉😉
Hi Robert! Nice work getting all the H braces built and getting the fence up! That looks like some challenging terrain for fencing. Beautiful, but tough to fence. I like your fix for the offset post, that's pretty slick! Hope all is well, and hope you have a good one, Sir!
Thank you, Evan. It was pretty tough, but was able to get the tractor where I needed it. I still have a few spots that I'm not sure I can get the tractor to. Still have a lot to do. Be nice when I get to some flat ground.
Good morning Robert ☕☕☕ It's been a while. Hopefully you are doing well!! Fence looks great 👍 done the same, offsetting a post to keep the fence straight.
Good morning, Ed. Sorry, I haven't been watching many RU-vid videos lately, and I'm way behind on yours. Your granddaughter sure is a cutie. I've had a few health issues and will be going in on the 18th for a biopsy. Thank you for the comment on the fence. That back section has very steep hills and two creek crossings. The fenceline was never maintained after Grandpa passed away in 1985 and trees had fallen on it and floods had washed out other sections.
@@Rdrake1413 I have been wondering, didn't know if RU-vid was not keeping you up to date, or... I never expect everyone to comment, or keep up on my videos.. I do always enjoy having coffee with the morning comments. Have missed seeing your videos too.. I totally understand that life gets in the way sometimes... And the issues that come with life. I hope all goes well and your health issues can be remedied quickly 🤞🙏🙏 Funny, doc's been trying to see me for almost a year.. they've either been booked, or she is running half a day late. Left there a couple times, after waiting well over an hour.. and still have 10 people ahead of me.. UHG 🙄 Anyway, going to try again, the 18th at 10:30.. hopefully she'll be on schedule.
Making a desperate search for an answer in the comments here. I have a 2N, slightly different pump. Had a very weak lift when I bought it. Goes up and down fine, but if there's an implement on back, it can't lift it. Rebuilt the pump this winter, brand new cam, cam blocks, pistons, valves, relief valve, and control valve, same problem. Found a very slight leak from the piston a few days ago. Put in a brand new piston and cylinder, the new style, STILL WILL NOT LIFT. I do not see any visible leaks anywhere, does anyone have any ideas? Control spring is adjusted per the book, no luck
Man that is pretty frustrating after spending all the time replacing parts. Only thing I can think of maybe some trash blocking a line. Steiner tractor has some pretty good videos on diagnosing hydraulic problems.
@Rdrake1413 at this point, every piece has been disassembled and cleaned, so I hope that isn't the case, don't want the newly rebuilt pump ruined. Any experience replacing the tube that goes from the pump base to the top lid if that ends up being the culprit?
@Rdrake1413 already tried that, it blew fluid out of the pump just fine. Just got in a 1/8NPT pressure gauge, made an adapter by drilling and tapping a bolt to screw into the pump base plate. Going to try getting a pressure reading tomorrow if those threads hold
I use 134 New Holland hydraulic fluid same as what I use in the transmission. The TC33D has two hydraulic pumps. One for the steering and another one for the tractor hydraulic system.
