Hi sensei ! I wish you the best. I myself just got my Godan a few months ago, and my Renshi ! Hopefully everything will be fine from your side during your Rokudan target workout. Let's keep going ;) I personally use small dumbbells of 7.5kgs for my Sanchin-like warm-up exercises, and I'm wondering if it's too heavy or not. How much do weigh your dumbbells ? I admit that I only practice Sanchin warm-ups with weights, and regular workout for improving my toughness and resistance. I'll give a try to your Seienchin-like exercises too.
Under Sensei Suzuki's we always wiped down the dojo floor at the end of practice and this was just to drain the water from the towels or so I thought. The only "Mister Miyagi move" I ever learned there. 😂
Since im a karate guy after seeing your short i tried it on my bestie who always tries to slap me for fun 😂 and she totally lost in slapping war , everytime i did this ,she was like ahhh 😂😂😂
Also when crisis cross his arms we have move we do in Kenpo . As his arms are crossed knee the elbows hopefully hyperextended one of them at the same time snap kick to groin. 5:27
I wanted to leave idea a lot of American Masters of Karate are teaching Zoom classes with combined seminars, and testing at the Dojo in person. It’s big deal over hear now I think it might work out most are charging 100$ dollars a month , 80 dollars for privates also most master that do this like teaching husband and wife or spouse and kids . Just food for thought cause you guys are becoming a big thing .
A new sensei (0:01) for you from Α***οn you'll definitely enjoy and give you things to think and talk about, titled Myths and blind spots in the fighting arts’ world. After the Bible, it’s the next “good book” for you. -I'm sure you'll agree it was a special experience!
Just came across this video! Loved it! I started training Shotokan after postpartum with my fifth child. I’m now postpartum with my seventh and have been training throughout these years of having children. Returning now again while postpartum with my seventh. Karate has been such a blessing in my life, mentally and physically!
I’m very interested in becoming fit not just for health but agility and eventually I’d like to take some self defense courses. (Took some karate courses when I was a child so I do know the basic forms still) Thank you for your videos! I just need to be in a place where I can afford to join a class. It’s wonderful having someone help me along in the meantime!
Haha, could be! But sometimes dojos grow where they have to, and sometimes, that is a strip mall location. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!
Hello, That's my Shureido black belt that I've worn nearly every day since 2017. They're designed to fade and fray, though I am waiting for a new belt to arrive soon!
Weird, our shorei-kan dojo, does shiko dachi during the first block to the left and fight, and we do 3 steps forward first the same as you would doing sanchin
This is a super idiosyncratic version specific to a handful of dojos in Johannesburg, South Africa, so it is nice to hear that the Kata has some sort-of cousins elsewhere in the world! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on this very specific topic - we appreciate it 🙇🏻♀️
