Thanks. I just picked some up and it says put directly down their throat. Was hoping to see that, but I'll get it done. My rooster got chased for 15 minutes yesterday and I found him gurgling really bad after the chase was over. Stray dog got into the yard and I just happened to see it on my security camera a bit late but good thing i did. My rooster (aka dagger) ran into the house past my feet, he was done with the dog. I ran the dog off and thought it had done Broke daggers neck. But I'm now believing this episode exposed an infection in my rooster. He's doing good today but no more running allowed! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for this video ❤ my best bud has had one for the past 2 months. Our vet recommended surgery and we were originally quoted 3k which I could afford but then the specialist that wasn’t comfortable coming to their vet wouldn’t do the surgery because they are not open over night and said I had to go to their specialist office and was then quoted over 10k to do the surgery. It’s a lot of money to come up with so I’ve been saving and trying to manage with diet and adding pumpkin. My dogs back leg has recently swelled up so I’m hoping by pushing it back in when he poops will help his leg until I can afford the surgery 😢
I’m sorry so sorry for your lost, I lost my first puppy baby 7 years ago and I found you because I was having problems finding information for my second 7 pound Paco chihuahua. He’s like a child to me, I love him! You gave me hope and following your tips I have been able to keep my dog for 2 years. Thank you We will never forget our puppies but their love always stay with us! Stay strong!
Wow, I had no idea that's how goat milk soap is made! It seems relatively easy too. I love goat milk soap but the ones I have used in the past never lather up like yours did. I would love to try some of your soap!
@@Mightyluna I think a lot of makers use powdered goat milk (sometimes only a tbsp or two in the whole recipe) but using a full raw milk replacement makes all the difference ❤️ I will create an eBay listing and link it in a comment for you.
Thank you so much for the “Gooby” harness tip. It is working great for my Westie Oliver and his trachea collapse. Also ordered the throat gold. Appreciate your video!!
First off, I want to say how beyond adorable Teddy was. I'm looking for preventative measures for my little guy with collapsed trachea some other compounded issues and I noticed the date on this video and went to double check if any comment might end up being inconsiderate and I am so so very sorry for your loss. I can very, very much imagine the grief you've experienced and my heart hurts for you, as I love mine intensely and have forever dreaded the day they someday leave me. He and his little face I'm sure has touched a whole lot of hearts, as it took a few minutes seeing him to touch mine. He was so lucky to have you and you him. Thank you for sharing your experience with that precious little guy.
I discovered your channel today (random RU-vid recommendation!) and have now watched several of your videos. You are a wealth of knowledge and the love you have for your animals is evident. I LOVE your channel and am so glad I "listened" to RU-vid. ☺You have a new subscriber!
@@pixiesplantation Currently I have one senior dog (small mixed breed) named Oliver. We lost his housemate, our spicy Sophie (small mixed breed) in February to Spindle Cell Sarcoma. We miss her terribly and are still recovering from that loss.
I administered to one of mine for the first time this evening in the same way including her throat area. And isolated her. I’m hoping she’s as good as new soon. Will repeat in the morning.
If you search my channel you’ll find a video titled “what I feed my senior Pekingese”. The area is likely sore right now, most commonly from a hemorrhoid (because they push so hard). Ask your vet about using a 50/50 mix of hemorrhoid cream & coconut oil to help ease the pain. You may even want to show your vet this video and they can help you in the clinic to perform it the first time
Thank you for that. I adopted 2 sisters and after 10 months, I figured out that one of them is deaf. The other one makes up for her. The challenge is incessant barking.
I have an adopted deaf dog who has been deaf since birth. I slowly introduced him to the local off leash dog park. It is a fenced area so it is safe. I use sign language (hand signs) he knows about 12 different signs. I also have a collar, lead and harness with DEAF DOG on it so people can see it as they approach him. I make sure people only approach from the front, stop let him smell them before they touch him. When he is sleeping, I will stand near him and he knows I am standing there.
Going to give it a try. 10 year old Corgi and he had the perianal surgery on his right rear almost 2 years ago ($5k). Unfortunately, the problem has reoccurred on the left rear and the lump is about the diameter of half a lemon. Good size. He had to go the emergency vet a week ago to get cleaned out as he was completely stopped up ($750). They want to do the surgery once more. Really don't want that expense again, but will if I have to, so have been trying to massage the bump a little to see if I can get anything to move. Seems to work sometimes but he's not completely emptying, I'm sure. We've also been giving him plenty of liquids along with 1/4 tsp. of psyllium (main ingredient in Metamucil) twice a day to attempt to keep his stools soft, which seems to be working. So, I'm going to try your method to see if that can work but was wondering do you keep the pressure on until he starts and finishes the process? Also do you wait until he crouches to start the process, or just randomly do it when you go outside? Hoping it work. ;-)
Wow, this really works great! You can actually feel the accumulation move out. Dog is obviously relieved he doesn't have to strain as hard. Thank you so much for posting this video!
I’m so beside myself grieving my little toy poodle Prince Luie…I lost him 2 weeks ago on collapse trachea….if I’ve only would had known and not just listen to my vet, I’m positive my little Prince would be still alive; I blame myself for not taking actions for myself rather trusting a vet.
@@pixiesplantation I’m cringing nonstop…I’m blaming myself for putting too much trust in the veterans he visited, rather checking into it myself what I could have done.
My dog started getting symptoms of chf, and tracheal collapse April 4th. She initially fainted, and I cried and felt so helpless. I took her to the vet , and she prescribed lasix, and antibiotics for some decay in gums. Since she is on meds she is doing way way better has not had any major episodes or fainting. I keep taking her out on walks every other hour. I wanted to ask your opinion. How do I know if she is suffering or not. Occasionally she will lay down, and seem lethargic . She still goes on walks happily, once in a while she will be tired so I make the walks shorter. She's 16 year old chihuahua named Kitana. I think we love them like babies because they are also small, and we took good care of them to reach this age, and gave them their life purpose. I found your video initially about your one year update using throat gold, and then I saw this second video, and I got teary eyes for Teddy. I had a 18 year old long hair chihuahua pass over the rainbow in 2022, and I feel she is with me still. Some times it feels so real I even call out her name, and I can vision her playing in heaven. We never have closure for a pet we loved as a child, and in my opinion we all meet again some day.🥹🌹
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and kind words. In my humble opinion as long as your dog is eating, drinking, peeing/pooing without pain or difficulty that’s a very good indicator that it’s not time yet. It’s ok for them to sleep more and not be able to walk as far or play like they used to. I believe it’s natural to slow down…and as dogs they understand that that and don’t mind the extra naps. As long as you’re providing them a soft bed to lay on and giving pain medication (if needed) they’re comfortable enough to keep going. If your dog starts refusing meals, becomes incontinent or you’re. It able to manage pain (example: she’s whining constantly or can’t no longer get comfortable enough to sleep) it’s time. Sending you love and strength 💚
so sorry . pekes are wonderful. i agree w/ a lot of what u said... i'm a single, childless lady so i have experienced the cold and condescending response one receives when grieving a pet's loss ..glad u have some other people around u who can help u thru this. .
Im so sorry for your loss i know exactly how you're feeling as my little dog had the same proplems as teddy but sadly didnt live aslong as teddy.😢Rip Teddy 🙏
Thank you so much for this! Is it possible to push in anything the "wrong way"? Does the technique help with avoiding the bladder getting stuck as well or is there another trick to avoid that?
Not necessarily a “wrong way” just avoid pushing in too deep…keep your fingers flush with the natural boundaries of the skin and you’ll be fine. Yes, this will help prevent the bladder from getting stuck “ bladder entrapment” however, to be effective it’s up to you to make sure that the bladder does not get too full to get trapped. As the years go by, you may notice that the hole itself gets larger and when it does it can accommodate a full bladder.
Thank you so much. I am at this moment really worried about my Cara. She was diagnosed with hernia and the vet is planning to operate on her. She is 14 years old with a heart disease and I am afraid that she will not pull through. I will try your advice. Thanks again. Much love.
What do you think about GLUCOSAMINE and CHONDROITIN? I've been giving thanks for 3 months now and there's been huge improvements. That's only been doing but I'm going to add that throat gold and get her a new harness. The first symptom happened a year ago and she's doing okay she's 12 years old. Fingers crossed. 🙏🏻💕
Thank you for this video! My 12 year old dog got diagnosed with this today. Did your dog limp before? Mine is limping from his right back leg, that's where his hernia is. I wonder if he will be able to walk better once I start following your techniques. 🖤🤠 Texas
i know this video is old but I still feel the need to say that red lights can harm reptiles' eyes! you definitely seem like someone who definitely cares about your reptiles, but heat rocks are known to burn the bellies of animals.
With a lot of the stuff you’re talking about unfortunately, it seems like you’re just trying to make royalties from Amazon. I’m really hoping that the information you’re spreading is your true review on the product.
If that were true I would have affiliate Amazon product links listed in the description of this video….and I DON’T. The original video has product links but they are not affiliate links and I don’t make a dime off them. They are simply there to help the viewer find the product.
My pekingese mix elderly rescue dog developed this condition shortly after i got him four years ago His vet said he wouldnt do surgery because stitches wouldn't hold long enough for him to heal because his straining to go would tear them out. So I perform the method you've described. Unfortunately he wont go if im standing there holding him & as soon as I let go the hernia protrudes again. Therefore it has gotten bigger & I just dont know how much more he can take. I didnt know to try feeding him pumpkin (he wont eat beans) and fish oil. I'll get started on both right away. Thank you for the suggestions! Wish us good luck 😊
They give us so much unconditional love. My twenty two year old granddaughter often says joyfully we don't deserve them in response to our two dogs being lovey or just silly. She's right. I know when I'm feeling down or not well, both dogs are coming over to check on me and they try to cheer me up or comfort me -I know they know because they are looking at me with concerned faces and being even more than usual sweet to me. How could I ever not be there for them?
I had to have my senior dog put down the end of 2023. She was 17. With a new rescue dog who is 15 months, he is annoying too in different ways. We have to work through their stages just like we rear our children.
