My videos often follow the catch and cook format. In addition, I film a lot of camping, canoeing, bushcraft, and foraging. I'm pretty keen on wild mushrooms. I like going out solo but I also film a lot with friends and really enjoy collaborations with other RU-vidrs. This coming year will include some homesteading type videos.
I hunt all species available to me with modern firearms, crossbows, and a traditional recurve.
Other interests that I have include quality gear, alternative energy, home food production (gardening and livestock), wildlife management, land conservation, exercise and healthy living.
... best sling ... and I've tried lots of different makes and types of gun slings over the years ... Quaker "Claw" ... soft "grippy" rubber ... won't slip on your shoulder ... with nylon or leather slings I was constantly repositioning the gun
... I always carry several small party balloons in my pocket to pull over the muzzle of my gun barrel in inclement weather or when going thru very thick brush to keep rain, snow, pine needles, dirt, etc. out of the barrel ... the balloon grips the barrel very tightly and won't come off and you can shoot the gun with the balloon on the barrel ... in very cold weather water can get in the barrel and freeze in the bore and if you fire the gun it will blow up
I do the same thing with thin wool camo gloves. Bought them originally for hunting as they were thin enough to still use my phone, but later found they made high impact activities like cutting firewood a lot easier when coupled with mechanics gloves.
i was thinking about filling a rucksack with weight and going on walks to train myself for long camping hikes and loose some weight i live in a very hilly place so it might kill me 🤣
@MiscMitz Mark Bell once said something along the lines of walking up stairs - you don't walk 5, 13, them all in a step - you walk each one til you get to the top. That's the issue for most folks doing something or losing weight - they want at the top of the stairs, and can't even see they have to step EACH one to get there. It's an eventuality, not a 'dream' but therein reaching your goal does become inevitable.
Off topic- Did you look into the FESS? (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) My partner had it done 20plus years ago - beconase nasal spray twice daily for years. They haven't grown back.
Love watching and re watching your videos on prepping. Where I live in Australia-we have lost power for 1 week+at a time with severe storms-trees down blocking roads. I find these tips useful. I do it on a smaller scale but we have purchased another freezer and generator keeps it going through long power outages.
Its 2024. Im only part way through watching the big wild year series. Im looking forward to watching this series. Did you both co write a book? Is it available? Would you repeat the experiment? I would love to know if you tested your gut microbiome before and after.
No book yet. I'd repeat the experiment again, I think, but maybe do it a bit differently. I tested my microbiome at the end of the year but I've never put the results out anywhere and I don't have a baseline test to compare to.
