If you want to watch videos with no time wasting introduction, this is the channel to watch.
Some of my videos are not DIY.
They are intended for people who already know how to work on cars/truck.
You must know how to safely jack up a car and know what tool to use if I don't mention it. I am very familiar with electrical and electronics. If I don't tell you to DISCONNECT the car battery during a procedure, that mean its not necessary for you to do so. Yes I know we don't torque every bolt to spec, but if I have the torque specification, I will mention it. I often use manufacturer special tool if it make the job easier and I cannot, or don't have the time to make my own.

Atleast it has a CAMBELT AT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE. unlike all the modern Audis that have a shitty quality chain at the rear so engine out !! this is a CRIME !!! It says the car is 100k miles or 10 years and then Audi tells you to piss off and buy a new car.
I just bought a 2013 s6 I've never had a German car so I had no idea about the air suspension, I really appreciate you going through this step by step and actually pointing that out because I was just going to jack it up and take the brake caliper off 😅 thanks for saving me thousands
@puprilla It wouldn't break just like that. However, it will cause premature wear over time. There are 4 level sensors, one at each wheel. If you lift the car up, the sensor will detect that the car is not level and add more air to the air spring in an attempt to make the car level. This will extend the air spring to maximum limit.
@@pnswg01 oh ok so when I go to the settings and turn it off it stops that? Good to know. I can tell this car is going to be fun to do light work on 😂 thanks for the video
@@pnswg01just got done doing my brakes in absolute record time😅 those two pins on the back that hold the break in was kind of hard to figure out but then I realized it's those steel clips on the back that you got to shove the back of the brake pad into first then it slides right into the pins. Thank u for your time making these videos
Sorry, it's been a long time since I made that video. I should have included the part numbers. I went to the dealer with the old one in my hand. They didn't know what it was even though I showed it to them. They showed me an exploded view of the transmission and I pointed it out. They got the number from there.
Great explanation of how the transmission works. But what fluids should it be filled with? Does the center differential torsen have any special oil, or does it share oil with the front differential and the gearbox? Thank you.
I use Fuchs gear oil or the one from the dealer which is probably made by Fuchs. There is only one type of oil in this transmission. The automatic version made by ZF use auto trans fluid for the front section and gear oil for the rear (torsen diff).
@@raulgambramartinez65 I am not a transmission repair person so I can only speak about what I use. I tried Redline after rebuild and that was the worst. I changed that real quick because shifting was not good especially from 1st to 2nd and when it's cold. I replaced it with Fuchs 75w90 and that was a night and day difference. The next time I changed it I went with the one from the dealer. (I didn't see any difference between the dealer oil and the Fuchs) As for GL4 or GL5, I don't remember.
They were the peeling stretch marks on the converter, change the oil pump, converter and filter. but.... now it only goes in reverse, and I have the active code P0871 that you recommend. thank you so much
What happens if the o-rings on the solenoids are not sealing right cuz there’s fluid inside the solenoid pack and I’m getting code p076a check the resistance check out good 1.3 ohms my dodge journey is in limp mode stuck in 2nd gear
Hi! I also have a vw Routan that won’t shift out of first gear . Just wandering did you happen to find out what the problem was. Would greatly appreciate the help if you know
I really appreciate the detail in the video like others have mentioned. I watched 4 or 5 other videos before coming across yours. All were similar, but you went more in-depth. Especially regarding the check balls in valve body, could have been worse if I hadn't known about them. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video to share with all of us!
That is the way RU-vid algorithm works. This was the first video on this subject yet has the least amount of views. Two versions of it. This is the final version. Other videos don't even bother with illustrations which take more time to do. Overall this is more of a slide than a video but it gets the point it's trying to show. For me, it doesn't worth my time to make videos anymore. Thanks for watching...
Patrick, hoping you can help. I just acquired a used TDI 01E. I have not yet installed into my 2004 2.7 A6. This used trans shifter shaft works well by hand shifting on the bench. I slightly rotate the input shaft for alignment and the gears fall into place. Shifting has a good feel, however, the input shaft will not rotate when engaged into any gear. Also, while in neutral, or any gear, the axel flanges will only rotate in opposite rotation. I'm unable to rotate the axel flanges together in the same direction. Is it hard to rotate the input shaft because of the Torsen differential? And is it also due to the Torsen that I can't rotate the two axels in the same direction? Or, do you feel that the trans is damaged? Any suggestions? Thanks for taking the time. Dennis
If you turn any axle flange forward, the opposite side turns backwards. This is normal. That is the way differentials work. You would have to turn both sides in the same direction at the same time. Try applying tension to both drive flange so one cannot turn without the other and power should transfer to the output shaft at the torsen differential. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VN4_asSBEKY.htmlsi=T8878DMp94L0eVt7
2009 town and country have codes p0732,p1790,p0792 transmission will shift into 2nd gear roughly then stay stuck in second will replacing the solenoid pack fix this issue??
@@mscreneetyes I replaced the solenoid pack, low drum assembly and all other solenoids in the transmission I’ve put 14,000 miles since then and it runs great it’s very easy to do took maybe 8 hours total
Good Day Patrick, thank you for the informative Video. Quick Question, the Foot Pedal red Light on the left of the gear selector Mechanism, why would it iluminate some times and sometimes not?
Hello, my Journey 2014 3.6 went into emergency mode and made a cavitation noise in the Valve Body, I replaced the Filter and the oil because it was clogged and after I replaced the oil and the filter the Code P083B appears, already I reset the code with a scanner but the code comes back, I've already checked all the electrical harnesses, everything is ok, and no noise appears. Could it be the valve body? Or the Pressure Sensor?
I am getting 3.0 ohms at pin 20 dc solenoid all others good as i get a p076a code no shift shut off restart car then ok for couple more miles and notice when no shift manual shift is gone also when acts up should i change solenoid thanks!
Very informative. Thank you so much, Patrick. I thought I needed to remove the strange bolts, which require a 5033 socket, and I've struggled to do that with my regular 10-point socket. I broke the bolts and went to an Audi dealer to purchase new ones. The guy in the parts department showed me the repair instruction and told me those bolts were not supposed to be removed to do the brake job. I should have watched your video first.
I have the 62te in my 09 dodge journey. It will shift perfectly when I first start it and go around the block. After that it won't shift out of first. Please help
In the USA, most new fuel pump comes with the clear hose attached with ear clamps. You simply plug it to the port inside the fuel tank. We are NOT replacing the return line, it comes with the fuel pump. We are just removing the old pump module and replacing it with a new one. If you happen to get the electric pump with no hose attach to it then you have no choice but to use the old lines. Thanks for watching.
What a great video, I don't need this major repair but if I ever did it is awesome! Thanks. I left another comment below which was why I came to your video. Thanks! If he saved you a lot of money I suggest supporting him with $$ for all his hard work. He could've just kept this knowledge to himself.
Thanks for watching. I had two stalling problems with the van in the past. First time was when driving the engine would stall for no reason, mostly when cold, well there was a reason. The EGR valve was bad. It would only stall after you start driving. The other was a bad TCC solenoid. See a previous comment... I don't want to repeat myself.
