lovely pattern and colours 😍 i get you, there’s been times where a painting has taken far too long and you hate it or you lose that initial buzz about it. your design turned out great though, Im glad you carried on with it.

Procreate will actually allow more layers if you create the canvas yourself..I just never use all I can use. I mean I have used up to 40. But sometimes it says I can do a hundred or hundreds. It depends on dpi and size. I also name my layers and people act like that is nuts but I hate getting confused. Sometimes the preview pic is not enough to tell what layer you are selecting!

Thank you for this video, I think your english is wonderful! You probably already know this, but Procreate will tell you how long it took you to work on a project and even how many brush strokes! You can find it under your 'canvas information' under 'statistics'. This might help you with your estimates of how long a drawing takes 😊

How can you do glittering animation flashing colors or sparkling color of the same object?

I had the same problem with chairs, I got too drawn by the aesthetics. But I got this year the LÅNGFJÄLL from Ikea and my back is much better, and you can choose between different color combinations.

Hi thank u for your prompt answer at my question, You answered to it, i thought at that but i was unsure, i am experimenting this new motion part of fresco , i am used to animate with procreate, before to jump into more in depth app of animation as gallipeg, for example, and in all these apps there are limitations and tricks to workaround to find solutions..Thank u i appreciate your work and the amount of time spent to share the tutorials..i mean to prepare them etc...thank u

Thank u for your tutorial , again , i find hard to find the way to color the character after the sketch , i mean the motion structure is there in the frame of the character, all is fine till there, but then when i go to ink the character , in another frame and also i try to color and merge the drawing nothing happen no motion at all.. i see in your tutorial that from the sketch part and the 3 layers added to give the movement then your movie jump to the already colored character missing the way of how did u colored it.. will u open for all of us to make a tutorial more in depth.. about this passage it would be really great great thank u again for you time..

Thank you for the feedback! I’m not sure if I understand the problem 100%, but maybe the issue is the merging of the layers? I actually didn’t merge them, I had one layer with the sketch/lines, and another layer with an identical number of frames for the coloring. The sketch layer is on top of the colors so both layers are visible. Is that any clearer, does it work when you try it like this?

Hi Susann, I've recently discovered your channel and really resonate with your insecurities and self-doubt, particularly around style. I've been chasing my illustration dream for years now as have never felt ready to post work online as felt I wasn't consistent enough - always changing my mind on how I wanted my work to look. You are so inspiring as you have just done it anyway regardless of those feelings so I think that's amazing! I'm slowly coming to terms with my personal style and understanding my limitations with what I can produce. Wow, it's a hard journey isn't it?! But I now know that there isn't actually an end and there shouldn't be which ultimately makes it exciting. Thank you for voicing your insecurities and helping us all to feel we are not alone!

Omg the motion paths is SO awesome! I always animated my work on procrete but it's super tedious (Frame by frame but also you have to group if you want multiple elements to move). I liked Fresco but never really got super into it - maybe this will do that for me :)
@SusannHoffmann
@SusannHoffmann 2 года назад
Yes I feel the same about animation in Procreate, for simple things it’s okay but to have several elements moving is quite a pain… I mostly enjoyed that every layer has its own animation so changing the timing is much easier 🙂 I also didn’t really use Fresco before, and I think I still prefer the “feel” of drawing in Procreate, but I really enjoyed the animation feature (plus I haven’t encountered such a limiting restriction in the number of available layers there like in Procreate).

Great information on many of the things we deal with as illustrators! I liked what you said about working on projects that aren't your dream projects. I get these, too! Sometimes it's really hard to get started on these types of projects and I have a little trick that helps. I just do something really really tiny on the project. Like maybe just look at a pdf they sent, or research something about the project. I only spend like 5 minutes doing this, then I stop and take off the rest of the day! The next morning it's easier to get moving and start really working on the project because it's like I've already "started" it the day before. Even though I hardly did anything, it gets my head thinking about moving it forward. Somehow this is a game changer for me.

I've been playing with this today. Is there a way to move the anchor point of the layer? For example, if you wanted to rotate a branch or leaf at the base?

The update has dropped and your's is the only video on RU-vid. So I presume like procreate Fresco uses layers as quasi frames

Thank you so much Susann for your advice! I follow your instagram account too. I think you are always so helpful especially when it comes to sharing your own experience and the tools you use. I just want to ask you what kink of work you showed to book publishers or potential clients before you even had your first official illustration job? Were they your student or personal projects? Is it even professional to show work that aren't really "work" - if you know what I mean. Thank you:):)

Thanks a lot for such a thoughtful video, your explanations are so clear! I am considering in buying an ipad but still not sure about choosing the 11 inch or the 12.9, so I was curious about how is you experience with the 10.5. Also, wanted to ask you when you merge layers from one object, can you separate them back again to recolour in procreate or photoshop? Have a great evening!

@SusannHoffmann
@SusannHoffmann 3 года назад
