The Akrapovic is a full cat/GPF back, so the resonator is part of the Akrapovic system. It's a one piece system though, the only connection is right after the downpipe, everything else is welded.
@@robincherrier1804 it's a thin stainless steel pipe, that has a little bit smaller outer diameter than the inner diameter of the resonator and is just stuffed inside the resonator. So no welding and it can be simply removed by pulling the pipe out. From the outside it looks completely stock, keeping the OEM lock.
The Akrapovic from the TCR will only fit on the GTI models equipped with the 2.0 TSI. So you can fit it on a standard GTI and the Performance GTI, but not on a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI.
Sorry for the very late reply, but it didn't get any notification. If I remember correctly the cam sprockets on this engine aren't adjustable, at least the stock ones. But I didn't have any issues with the timing it wasn't off.
Doesn't drone at all, no matter which speed. It's a little loud if I drive faster than 160 km/h for an hour or longer. But I also have the rear seats removed, which makes the exhaust sound louder in the cabin. With the rear seats, trims and all the insulation etc. installed it's totally fine, perfect sound level, not to quiet and not too loud. With the resonator it's just too quiet, almost disappointing.
I made some shots from the outside, but the sound was terrible due to wind noises, because I didn't have a external microphone. The middle silencer is quite big, so the sound is definitely louder and raspier than before, but there's still no drone inside, so that's good. Also the pops and bangs are way louder 😉 Should have come from the factory like that, I'm totally satisfied.
It's a custom made stainless steel pipe, which has a slightly smaller diameter than the OEM resonator inside and is fitted within the resonator. From the outside everything looks stock, which is important here in Germany 😉
Ich habe bereits ein Video von außen gemacht, leider ist die Sound auf Grund von Windgeräuschen nicht zu gebrauchen 🙄 Ich werde das Ganze nochmal wiederholen müssen.
Also das ist der Non resonated Race von Milltek ohne VSD , hätte gedacht das wäre noch lauter , das geht ja echt ^^ Oder vertue ich mich da im Modell , kannst mir gerne mal den Link geben , ich glaub den brauche ich auch :D
charlie stevenson Unfortunately not. My Fiesta is currently at the Ford dealership. I had a small impact on the racetrack. Because of that, the wheel alignment has to be checked. If I'm unlucky the rear axle is totalled :-\
i just pulled it out without removing the bolts and the little brackets for the plastic, just loosened the 2 screws on right and slightly bent the bracket :)
REaLCLaSSiicZz Also im Standgas und bei normaler Fahrt ist er relativ unauffällig. Du kannst also ohne aufzufallen mit 50 durch den Ort fahren. Sobald man Gas gibt und Ladedruck anliegt wird er allerdings recht kernig, aber ist noch im Rahmen. Beim Kaltstart ist er kurz auch recht laut, das kommt im Video ganz gut rüber. Ich mag den Sound von den meisten legalen auch nicht. Entweder hört man so gut wie nicht's oder der Sound ist nur dumpf und dröhnig. Einzig die Don Silencioso scheint einiger maßen Sound zu bringen.
Okay vielen Dank , ich finde halt die Don viel zu teuer , weil ich auch die Doppelrohr Variente haben will, weil mir ein Einzelrohr beim Fiesta überhaupt nicht gefällt. Da muss man allein schon ca.850Euro dafür blechen, ohne Einbau. Wie siehts eigentlich mit knallen oder nachblubbern aus bei deiner Milltek Race ? Finde dein Video eines der besten hier auf RU-vid.
REaLCLaSSiicZz Ja, beim ST muss ein doppel Endrohr dran ;-) Ich hab seit einem Jahr die Mountune Stage 1 Software drauf, damit knallt die Aga null und Nachblubbern nur im unteren Drehzahlbereich. Mit der orig Software hat's ein paar mal im oberen Drehzahlbereich geknallt beim Gaswegnehmen. Leider lässt sich der Sound während der Fahrt nicht so gut aufnehmen, kommt auch mit externem Mikro überhaupt nicht rüber wie in der Realität. Deshalb hab ich die Videos auch nicht hochgeladen, das vermittelt einen falschen Eindruck vom realen Sound. Der Kaltstart hier ist aber ziemlich nah dran, wie es sich live anhört.
REaLCLaSSiicZz Ganz vergessen: als ich das Video gemacht habe war die Milltek noch recht neu, mittlerweile ist auch der Kaltstart noch etwas kerniger geworden.
Okay vielen Dank, und wie sieht es dann mit einer Eintragung per Einzelabnahme aus? Oder keine Chance ist er viel lauter als Serie? Kann mich halt nicht entscheiden.. Ohne Betriebserlaubnis fahren ist nicht so gut, allein schon weil man bei nem Unfall Teilschuld bekommt dafür oder Polizeikontrolle Auto wird beschlagnahmt... Da bleibt halt nurnoch die Don Silencio übrig mit EG , aber viele sagen die Dröhnt unnormal im Innenraum.
Daryl rabara-brokate No drone at all ! Unfortunately this exhaust system is actually illegal here in Germany, because it has no government approval. But most of the legal exhaust systems have a lot of drone, a deep tone and are quieter, which I don't like.

Yes, it's too loud and Milltek didn't even try to get approval for this system in Germany, because they knew it wouldn't work. There's a street legal version of this system for the german market, but it almost sounds exactly like the stock exhaust and is also more expensive.
do you still remember what feeler gauge you used? exhaust valve clearance in the manual is 0.275-0.325mm but I'm pretty sure there are no 0.005mm feeler gauges?
666Eddie123321 You're right, there's no .005 gauge. I adjusted the exhaust valves to 0.31mm, which in my experience is a good solution. In this case I had to adjust 9 out of 12 valves (clearance below minimum) but unfortunately the battery of the cam died shortly before I removed the cams.
