What a waste of his singing! “Yaad nahin..???”! Sawal to ye hai ki live audience ko lyrics yaad kyon nahin hai. Someone could have taken out a phone to look up the lyrics at least! How difficult was that? When a Boss album was released, we used to wait months for that cassette or CD to be available in the local shop, inquiring about it on a daily basis and irritating the shopkeeper. And once available, the cassette would get worn out in just 3-5 days as between me and my friend we would have probably listened to it a million times and the lyrics would be forever imprinted in our memories.
It’s almost after 25 years that I found this composition! My late uncle had this recording ( in addition to the recordings of ‘ Ilaaj-e- Dard-e-dil’ and ‘ Doston ke naam yaad aane lage’) and I felt never tired of listening to these masterclass in 90s! I am grateful to you for posting this rare recording. 🙏🏼🙏🏼💐💐

काश इस महफ़िल में उपास्थित सज्जन सब लोग सम्राट को उसी भावनात्मक दृष्टि से देखते जैसे हम सब ग़ज़ल प्रेमी उनको हृदय की गहराइयों से सदैव अनुभव करते है । इस महफ़िल में अधिकतर वो लोग है जिन्होंने यह शेर पहली बार सुना है , यहाँ हम लोगो को लगभग सारी ग़ज़लें याद है।
Jagjit Sir is the king of melody and emotions in the history of India. I say this with utmost responsibility. There is no singer past or present that can play with your emotions quite like Jagjitji. There have been many great classical singers like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Jasraj, Mehndi Hassan, Ghulam Nabi. But when it comes to raw emotions , there is no one like Jagjit sir . It's not something you can train or learn, its god given.
