Those with intervenor status who want removal should push FERC hard to do its job and order removal of the dam, rather than give PG&E all the time in the world to do nothing while it plays for time in the hope someone will take the problem off its hands. Its plan for decommissioning is an empty shell in which is found another empty shell. The Russian River diversion is a classic California water theft that can no longer be tolerated or accommodated. Without the dam in question it could not have been possible and without the dam it can not for all practical purposes continue. Northern California is drying out. The Eel River desperately needs all its water as do those in its drainage basin who depend on it.

It’s not just the dams but ocean conditions and Chinese Trawlers off the West Coast and Alaska of North America. National maritime boundaries need to be extended beyond the 200 miles to a minimum of 500 to 1,000 miles to protect the fisheries. We also have to bring beavers back and then possibly our fisheries will have a chance. New England has alot of dam removals as they’re attempting to bring alewife/herring back which feeds lobster/cod/etc. There is alot of work still to be done. Progress is being made though.

Total spin and taken out of context. This only keeps “ EPA agents” from saying a drainage ditch due to construction is a wetland. Do your research!
@scpatl4now
@scpatl4now 4 месяца назад
Not true. I went and looked and this will have a drastic impact on clean water by allowing developers to fill in wetlands that aren't "visually connected" to protected bodies of water. The unqualified members of the SCOTUS (not scientists) failed to realize that wetlands act as filters for groundwater. They are not protected and can be filled in and polluted...which guess what...pollutes drinking water sources. That is not a ditch.

Apparently you haven’t been there recently. There’s geese and ducks and their baby chics. There were cows grazing pretty close to the river, they didn’t die. They released a bunch of salmon in a different spot and so far they’re doing good 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s already changed so much in just 3 months. It was never going to be fixed in the snap of a finger. It’s going to take time but it’s already improving quite a bit. You’re statement is false information, it’s fear mongering and hyperbole. It is OBVIOUSLY NOT DESTROYED 🙄🤡😂 Why do you want it to fail so bad? That’s just gross. You can hate that it was done, but it’s done. There’s no stopping it there is no going back or rebuilding. So be all big mad but why do you want it to be destroyed? We know some wildlife and thousand s of non native fish died. It was expected. It sucks and it’s really sad. But it’s literally not destroyed. So why keep saying it is?
@1SpiritEye

I think some who had river front properties and lived along the river are mad, but these dams never should have been ... so when we are gone, salmon will be running again. This was right for the longevity of the land.

To clean the rivers of tijuana contact me and only if your a serious environmental clean up business. It's not that difficult to clean any river or water waste using a epa recognized means they have reported on how to do. The problem is the epa does not promote this method. And I tired to do it in Mexico but the officials all wanted us to pay them to clean and remove oil waste on agricultural land caused by flooding. Duh, I can afford to pay bribes.

Well they just removed the dam where I live and there is nothing there now. Where we could fish and there was water before, now there is nothing but rocks and maybe ankle deep water in spots. 47 yrs of a beautiful river now looks like absolute garbage why again? I have a feeling you all are screwing things up more than helping.
@AvalonDreamz
@AvalonDreamz 5 месяцев назад
Just noticed our dam was removed where I live in Indiana. Now we have ZERO fish. Where the dam was we had water flowing constantly. Now there is nothing there but small patches of water. I have never in my 47 yrs seen the "floor" of where our river is but now that is all that is there, rocks. How this is supposed to help anything or anyone is beyond me. Where we once fished.. you can't fish anymore. There are none. The water isn't deep enough. You can literally walk across.
