I have a Warrior Wakizashi and a 1917 Frontier Bowie and both are excellent, although I bought them many years ago when CS was still a name. I was surprised by recent reviews of CS products until I learned that the company was sold. Usually, in any business, selling a company means a huge decrease in product quality, because the new owners just want to suck as much money as they can from it and then sell it further. So they keep the high price tag, but move to cheaper materials and cheaper workforce to keep their profit margin high. It's sad, but this is how the world works unfortunately.
Cold Steel used to be king in toughness and durability. I have a bunch from many years ago; they are amazing knives. I haven’t been following them in recent years, and I didn’t know that Lynn Thompson sold the company. That’s very unfortunate. Knowing that they no longer honor the same quality and standards as they did under Lynn, I doubt that I will purchase products from them now.
@@DonnieBAllDay yeah, because the dirtbags who bought it from Lynn Thompson assumed that people would blindly stick with them, despite them making big changes in key things like quality, standards and customer service.
That's great Donnie that you are a dealer with ADV Tactical, I am sad that the pit boss is not going to have an eye on the blade anymore. Spyderco saying that they own the eye is dumb and I can't believe that you are not a dealer for Croco Knives or KHHI since you are designing knives with them.
I think in the end peole will find out the old AUS 8A is a better more robust steel than the current steels they are using. Circa when they slammed a cold steel espada over and over through a truck hood.
one time i went to pick up my friend Tyrone from his house only to discover that he had two brothers also named Tyrone. his mother answered the door so i asked her about it and she said “it’s perfect because if i need one of my sons to do anything, like take out the trash, then i just call for “Tyrone”. i thought that was pretty neat so i asked her “well how do i call my friend Tyrone so we can go?” and she smiled and said “that’s easy, just call him by his last name”.
I am with you dude. I can say that I like some of Cold Steel designs, but I am not going to go off in the comments just like the fan boys would. Let's say if I bought a Natchez or Laredo bowie today, would those blades bend? Just curious and I wanted your opinion.
It would be so nice if you could have the price of the knife , even if you gave a possible pluss and minis, with a disclaimer that prices will very ,could go up or down, but just a possible correct number. Instead of us thinking does he sell any of his collections or does he only makes thousands of dollars knives for chosen people . Not trying to insult anyone but I believe that you truly don't know but you have the best chance of finding out. Just imagine how pissed if hundreds of people call all hours of day and night just trying to find out just a estimate. Thanks Dbad.😊
Jed does amazing work but this one for me I find ugly! Does not appeal to me at all! Doesn’t mean it’s not one hard-working, high-quality knife, just not my style.
I would like to see Jed Hornbeak private knife, the one he carries himself. I know if he does someone will try to copy it but don't forget it is a Jed Hornbeak knife and that alone can't be copied. Actually I thought you were going to pull out the large kukri that then was about six hundred dollars. But a Jed Hornbeak knives are always highest quality.
