I cabbed over half of the 34 A4s at kings cross including Mallard in my young days.Most drivers would allow you into the cab but i often think it would never be allowed today H/Safety.I saw them all but one WILLIAM WHITELAW that stayed up the north.

I needed to know why they couldn’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for most of the mainline Trains so that they could extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock which will include the class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign all of them into an overhead wire line trains and also make most of them into Five carriages per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Gardner 6LXC, Cummins M11, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Scania N112, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7-Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 10-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into 11 carriages per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers? A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it even much more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 carriages per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 carriages per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. 5:06 today bournville college have taken over this site and the old station building of longbridge has been demolished and the rover car works is also gone since 2006

4:21 today there’s nothing to suggest that the branch line from old hill to longbridge was ever here that line is now long gone but luckily the present day of longbridge station is still there now part of the cross city line

I wish one of Johnson’s 0-4-4 tanks had been preserved. They actually did try to put one aside at Crewe in the 1920s (repainted in full MR livery and all), but unfortunately Stanier ordered it to be cut up. Sadly no further efforts were made and now they’re all gone.

Yes, it’s remarkable to see the E2, the USA dock shunter and the Merchant pacific, similar to Thomas, Rosie and Rebecca are like visitors, although the USA shunters are brought to help the E2s because their wheels can go round the tight curves at Southampton harbour, not because of replacement, but it’s good to know the history of the harbour too

In 1962 Thornaby had a fleet of 183 steam engines on the books + a couple of dozen diesels (in service) - and a couple of dozen additional diesels (ordered but not yet delivered).

I am a little late commenting on this but as a matter of record I am a Hayling Island lad and lived in the first house over the bridge from Havant. As a lad I could see the old Billy going by from my bedroom window, my playground was underneath the central turntable on the bridge across the langstone harbour crossing, when the train went over, ended up with hair full of rust that dropped from above. When Beecham closed the line it was stated the bridge was weak and could not be repaired so they cut all the timber baulks off the top of the bridge and asked the Royal Navy to blow up the concrete piers below to provide seagoing navigation. On the day of the demolition we were all advised to open our windows and doors prior to the explosion, then at the alotted time there was the biggest bang and shock wave you can imagine, result? Well you can still see those concrete piers still standing today, not a scratch on em! Never trust a bluddy expert.

Thank you... I use to watch her come past our playground at Bolingbroke Playground in Battersea. Of course no knowledge of her then just she was different looking (Pullman set up). Now of course as you get older you think of these things. 🤔

I love how the E2 is technically the most recognized steam locomotive in the world, yet when these things were in service barely anyone paid attention to them.

It's been said before, but I do wish an E2 was preserved. The fact they're the basis for Thomas aside, they were elegantly designed locomotives, and had a surprisingly long and productive career. Whilst not the most amazing or well-performing locomotives ever made, the E2s found good use as shunters and were clearly quite helpful in some scenarios.
