When you like something, doesn't mean everybody has to like it too. If someone dislike your thing, just let them be. It just not meant for them. No need to force them to like it. They might have an opinion about it, whether you like it or not, but thats make it human. Try to be open minded guys. TheGrumpyNerd just trying to be open by trying people's recommendation, but unfortunately he found that it was not his cup of tea, and it's totally fine. The hating doesn't help any bands to get more people to support them because sometime they just need more time to get into it. With the hating, they will just close the door straight to any possibilities. So guys, calm down. So, about BABYMETAL. They describe their music themself as Cute Metal, so thats why you still can found bits of "poppy" to most of their musics. They were trying to make metal music could be enjoyed by not just metal heads but kids, teenager and other ordinary people. As they embark on their journey, they found that metal music might not be for everyone, so they want to introduce people to metal genre with their music as a gateway. Kinda like make metal pills more easier to swallow. It is still not for everbody's taste though. Fun fact: BABYMETAL song "Catch me if you can" on your previous video is a song talking about hide-and-seek game. So, lyrically it still have the cute aspect to it. For me, BABYMETAL's music really broaden my taste buds. I've never imagine myself exploring german's party-metal-core band like Electric Callboy, or even Thailand's hip hop artist like F.HERO if not by their collaboration with BABYMETAL. I hope someday, when you are looking for something "unique", you will find something amongs BABYMETAL tracks menu that will suits you. 🦊
For him to call it popsy just shows he did not do any research in to Babymetal and the story behind them, 3 young girls that pioneered a new music genre! I repeat (3 young girls) by the age of 14 they had albums and in 2014 rocked Sonispere with real metal heads! they have now done several world tours and are loved all over the world, their music always gives a positive message and Su has been voted one of the best metal voices of all time, they do shows to entertain the fans and not themselves, they have already been going for 14 years and just released another new album.
So it's been 3 or 4 years since you've seen BAND MAID. In that time BAND MAID has done some great stuff. For starters they opened for GNR in Japan. Herman Li has done 2 reviews and even auditioned for the band. Their fan base is now bigger. BAND MAID did a 10th Anniversary tour of the US last year (sold out every show) closing it up with a huge concert at Yokohama arena - DVD comes out in March 2024. Reactors who appreciate music outside their norm are entertaining. Watching them ‘discover’ is why we watch in the first place. (We can listen/watch on our own, obviously.). Those that wrinkle their noses every 2 seconds are not much fun to be around. And those that tell us to eff off should be heeded.
U can keep dick riding all u want but at the end of the day this man judges music based on what he perceives as "metal" and can’t put that aside to find new facets of sounds that he may enjoy if he wasn’t so closed minded maybe if he put that aside he could enjoy this music bc it is metal it’s just that it’s a young Japanese female band so he automatically calls it pop even tho the kami band is shredding beyond imaginable in the back he still chooses to be close minded… respectfully never make a babymetal reaction if ur just going to constantly belittle this young talented group of young ladies who have bust their asses off since 8 yrs old. There’s a reason why ALOT of huge metal bands give them their flowers and why they are still relevant and huge in the metal scene to this day 😘🦊🤘
You reviewers that have listened to a handful songs and try and compare and pigeon hole them into particular sound and genre are. totally missing the boat on how good this band really is. They have over 120 songs with a range is all over the musical spectrum and they do it fabulously !!!!! It's not poppy.....it' a real catchy chorus.

Oh well, you gave it a go... but you missed the whole point of BabyMetal by a thousand miles.. Never mind, Babymetal isn't for everyone, you either get the concept, or you don't. This was still fairly early in their career, they are a lot older now and their music has turned even more heavy.. ,

3 years later if you haven't seen "Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live" then your probably missing out what would probably be your favorite song (band front a center, heavy, not J poppy, ballad type song) and sorry for the Babymetal cult fans...new album is great btw

Hahahahaha I feel you dude! I had the exact same reaction however I like the poppy parts too because it adding something unexpected to it. I decided that I want to be there one time. 12/3/2023 I will be there with my two sons and I know where are going to have a good time!
