In the modern economy, companies do not have the luxury of stability. The impact of change, both technological and cultural, is greater and faster than ever before. In this environment, the Business Agility Institute was created to support the next generation of companies. Companies that are agile, innovative and dynamic - perfectly designed to thrive in today’s unpredictable markets.
Our mission is to represent our members and promote the structure, mindset, and behaviour of an agile organisation. The work of the Business Agility Institute reflects the real-world challenges and issues of our members. Our independence ensures our work can be trusted.

Incredible experience! Incredible organization and flow of ideas, experience, pitfalls, and success tips. Thank you to the people who put this together and the author, Jonathan Smart.
I really loved this explanation and would love to hear more. I'd actually like to invite John to come speak to my organization at Ericsson. How can I get in touch with John? thank you.
All this is amazing but it’s more about optimization , But none of this asks about WHY should we optimize something. Strategy , intent and reason to be are related to existential parts of life as well . We don’t all eat to survive but for pleasure , sharing & experiencing . Engineers do not design cities but architects do because they understand things like aesthetics , semantics , haptics , design , etc Life is not just one big scrum it’s also art and experience but if everyone is running fast scrumming you might miss the whole point of why you are doing it . There must be someone at the helm or we’d only have android and google & ugly warehouse and no beautiful things with a human touch like apple does . This feels like a utopian beehive to some extent where only naive idiots will spend time - thinkers will get the hell out!
I am very interested to discuss / understand how we might apply this to hiring for managers. I get the issue of them being an individual contributor (and I agree that they are arguably part of a team), but I wonder what we can get away with so to speak.
Also, how well were the 'Soft' criteria defined, so that we don't end up hiring people that just look and sound like ourselves in the name of culture fit ?
11:15 Good and deliberate decisions at the senior level. Strategy is the deliberate process of what you say yes to, and more importantly the things you say no to. Diluting the couple of things that you intentionally decide to do with proceeding on things that you didn’t deliberately say no to is one of the leakages or dilution factors that happens in most organizations. 12:12 Clarity is both simplicity and completeness thought
Talked more about the Soc Gen transformation than about Governance. Is governance just the mindset and the dashboard? How do you ensure that value is being delivered in line with the strategy? What types of value and when? How about risk profiles of different initiatives? How do we know teams are improving their performance? These are the questions about governance I would liked to have seen.
Great video -- I love dropping links to powerful videos with our students and clients that challenge the way we think about the way we work -- and this is one I will be sharing ;)

Wow, you guys are sharing really insightful OKR best practices from a sector that I previously perceived as conventional. Great job, Felipe Castro and Ian Harvey! Just wondering why this content only receives a tiny response.
Great video on the Production Engineering process and how manufacturing can quickly turnaround to help flight a pandemic - while adopting Agile and Innovation
Absolutely. We just published a case study about a manufacturing plant. Have a look at some of the other case studies in the Business Agility Library: businessagility.institute/learn/business-agility-playlists/ <- Scroll down to industries, or go straight to HR for HR specific content.
Epics will be referred to as Dodgy Dossiers, User Stories will become Curated Jokes and Sprints will become Streaks. goodstrat.com/2019/06/10/energising-the-agile-way-of-working-brand-and-mindset/
When given the opportunity to be lazy, the average person will choose lazy. Even those with the best work ethic can dismiss not performing to their full potential when no one is looking. This is where having an accountability partner becomes important. We get more embarassed letting someone else down than we do having to face ourselves in the mirror.
The hardest part about building a team in business is accepting that 1) some of your team members will leave, 2) some of your team members will take other team members with them, and 3) despite all this, you have to be willing to help them grow to their full potentially without being bitter or feeling scorned by the process. The only person you can control is YOU.
