Great stuff, very well done, thanks! New Hollywood decade/era is the best ever. Especially in terms of the combination between quality and popularity. Plus, the variety (with the quality) was also crazy. Everything culminated at that point… the peak.
I love the getaway, jaws, gone in 60 seaconds, the texas chainsaw massacre, rolling thunder, mad max, the godfather, the wicker man alien, taxi driver, death wish, vanishing point, chinatown, shoot first die later, a reason to live, a reason to die, halloween, the spy who loved me, live and let die, the boss, apocalypse now, a fistful of dynamite, dirty harry, macon county line, the outfit, get carter, caliber 9, straw dogs, blacula, the last picture show, sugar hill, coffy, enter the dragon, and so many more from many diffrent genres and countries. A decade that made so many amazeing movies that my favorites list is proably 70% movies from the 1970s.
meh, we have the sopranos and black mirror, the 70s just happened to have a bunch of good writers and directors up and running at the same timeline, its like that today but more scattered.
Can’t wait to see what our new ten minute cities are like. I’m kidding. I can. Fascism may change it’s means of forced misery, but it’s fascism all the same. God help us.
70s Began with The French connection . The raw and gritty film by the tough director Friedkin. And then goes on. What an era. Modern movies are cartoonish in front of that era
Movies suck now bc life sucks now. Entertainment is a reflection of our current culture and right now everyone is just bogged down and angry by politics and bullshit.
The 1970s was the best decade for films by far! The Godfather, Jaws, Star Wars, Alien, Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, A Clockwork Orange, Blazing Saddles, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Young Frankenstein, French Connection, The Exorcist, Halloween, Chinatown, Superfly, Dolemite, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, MASH, Deliverance, The Long Goodbye, Black Christmas, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mad Max, The Poseidon Adventure, Airplane, Smokey and the Bandit, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Saturday Night Fever, etc.
Oh man when you started playing the instrumental for Yikes I literally double checked the date because of what has happened recently. It’s so ironic and it makes your video so much better.
The best westerns of all time. I religiously still watch the Good The Bad and The Ugly to this day. As an aspiring novelist and writer, I hope I can continue to strive to make a great western as the likes of Sergio Leone and Sergio Corbucci
