While it looks cool, it is extremely dangerous. If you just touch the wood you are very likely to die of an electric shock as it has more volts than a mere power outlet. Glad you're safe.

Do I have to use stainless to ball it? What if I only have aluminum or steel?

Go with steel. It does the same thing but is more contaminated from the steel. Doesn't hurt if what you're welding is Okay with it

One hundred percent correct. I didn't know how to edit it out so I'm game for shit talk 😂. Thankfully I wasn't welding anything food grade or x-ray

try just breaking it off sharp on the edge of the table. ive balled big like that, and ive done a tiny ball. ive sharpened and blunted. best results was just throwing in a blunt clean tungsten. but im running a inverter makes a difference.
