Just found you and my brain works in strange ways. Your call sign and voice seems strangely familiar. Wouldn't be surprised, if we had a chill flight together, some 5 years ago maybe.
Extremely useful. I am making the pilgrimage back to BMS as we speak, with years of hardware accumulated from DCS hopefully I can find to get working in BMS. Thank you for this post, gives me the motivation and zeal towards getting this all set up.
2:15 if shop has website it still can be froud. you just send paypal someone. what paypal can do it. pay you money back lol. they would loose money. money allready go frouder and he pick it up paypal not get it neve if pay you lol. its every webstore you just need trust they send what you ordered. thats how it is
i just got Falcon 4 and am really looking forward to getting into BMS. I am a big DCS fan and have heard people raving about the Falcon 4 campaign system(something DCS really needs, so tired of that empty sandbox feel), so i am finally pulling the trigger on it. Thanks for all these great resources.
This video popped up in my feed and found it very interesting now that so much time has passed. I’ve been around DCS since Enemy Lock On and with Falcon since the originals. I’m in no way an expert, I’m just a sim weekend warrior who is now retired and has more time for hobbies. I always felt that I flew DCS for the eye candy and for the fact I could fly many high fidelity military aircraft in a sandbox environment. After all these years I almost treat DCS like I treat MSFS 2020. If I truly want to feel like I’m in a real living breathing combat experience it is in Falcon BMS. I, like most DCS pilots do not fly in multiplayer so the campaigns are all you can count on and they are scripted. Nick Grey (who I have much respect for) made many exciting comments back when this video first came out. It’s now almost 3 years later and the most important update to DCS is still a no show. I give credit to ED for the beautiful eye candy, weather and especially the new multi-threading but where is the dynamic campaign? We get hints from time to time but no hard facts. The problem here for DCS is, in my opinion, is that while DCS is trying to catch the tail of BMS’s biggest asset, BMS is evolving as well. BMS now has VR, a new UI, and a completely incredible new HOTAS mapping system. The incredible amount of documentation and ease of use is truly making BMS more accessible. Some time this year BMS fans will be getting the asset that DCS mostly relies on and that’s the eye candy. The new terrain engine and graphical enhancements will be launching BMS into DCS territory for visuals but DCS will still not be in BMS territory for the Dynamic combat experience. There’s also the little part about BMS being free as long as you have a Falcon 4 licence (roughly 5 dollars on Steam). I love both of these sims but I really want to see many of DCS’s plans (outside of eye candy) to start showing up. I’m starting to question why I keep buying planes which I feel I can’t do much with outside of learning the intricacies of the aircraft. I hope this changes soon.
E or F? Fs dont seem to target the same way Es do. Using the Es I can use the TPod to tgt then SCS to weapon and it slews to tgt. Using the IR Fs it doesn't work that way it seems. I end up always using the seekerhead to lock the tgt instead of the TPod.
the future of DCS is don't give content and make your chickens spend all the money, on planes without giving a shred of content and milsim. The real future of DCS and FALCON BMS, save yourselves, I did it and I'm happy. money spent? 4 euros on steam.
Simpler approach: Fly the A-10C with an AGM + LGB/JDAM/CLUSTER mix and go for a target where you know others are able to overfly (no SAM with > 5~6 mile range) and sweep shit up. Because you're in an A-10C you have enough fuel to fly around for days without refueling (though you should definitely learn how to do this); and when you get on sight you have plenty of ordinace to take care of business against non specialized targets like bunkers or large buildings. I even have loadouts with 105% capacity. Sure take performance is sluggish but once the A-10C gets up into the air and cruises, it's not all that different and fuel + used ordinance will lighten you up. If you get shot down by an air threat, you were screwed anyways and the problem was your role selected and SA.
in DCS CAN'T SEE THE GROUND TARGETS, so bugged! Are little point. no realistic this you didn't say a thing. FALCON (I say this as a DCS REPENT player) BMS IS IN DEVELOPMENT this means that it is improving. Added 2023 VR support, next patch they will improve the graphics of the game and they are also working on the planes.
bms is war. it feels real...dcs is a dedicated plane sim and its impressive give a vietnam map planes and dynamic war and dcs will be king......most of dcs maps are out of place....
I don’t like BMS’s flight model. It is way to linear, not natural. Doesn’t seem natural at all. Unless it’s something in my settings I’m not aware of. It feels like a game not a simulation.
I like that since both sims are hi fidelity, if you learn the DCS F-16, then map the same controls to BMS on your Hotas. You can then do almost everything in BMS that you learned in DCS. I never really never got in to BMS until I learned the DCS F-16!
You said, "left DDI" before the maverick shots on both targets and I saw the left DDI come up with a cam view and the pod still on the right DDI. What are you using the left DDI for? Great vid, by the way! Trying to learn how the Hoggit servers work.
DCS Dev's, take note we want more of this a living battle that reacts to what you have or have not done, much like Falcon BMS. DCS Dev's you are sitting on a gold mine just by adding single player living battlefield you could be kings of combat sims and there would be no stopping you BUT....instead a 1990's game is still shooting you out of the sky. Hope you have a good supply of ejects seats, LOL.
Love how you wanna go real cockpit as much as possible and then use 50 colors of lego to set it up 😂😉 All joking aside, great review and looks epic man!
Are all "CubeSim" MFDs the same (Cougar)? I know the ones on the Facebook group look the same, but there's also a CubeSim site with the cn domain, and Aliexpress has several Cubesims (priced differently from different vendors). I imagine the LCD is generic, but it still need to fit/mount properly to the button/joystick bezel? As far as game integration, how does DCS handle multiple-displays? For example, if you only have one CubeSim, How does it output the MFD/MPD that you want onto that monitor? I'm interested in tinkering in the AH-64D Apache cockpit... coding and firing rockets/guns, etc! All that is done one one display, right?
Just got two of the screens for an F16/F18 setup and they are friggin' amazing. The displays now have a power switch on them and the new cables are plenty long enough. Great product!
Same for me here. Eagle Dynamics are weak making dynamic campaigns for SINGLE PLAYER as I have also experienced since DCS WORLD started back in 2008 but lately 3 years back I m hooked to Buddy Spike Blue Flag server to fill that need of dynamic experience but yeah that is only MULTIPLAYER. But damn this looks interesting! Also, want to add is that the whole experience of DYNAMIC CAMPAIGN is the element of SURPRISE meaning that you were not expecting from the A.I. to do that or how they retaliate? I think this what we are searching in DCS WORLD or is missing in SINGLE PLAYER campaign.
