I'm generally weary of AI, but looking forward to a day when anyone can design a building, with AI doing of of the structural and code specific stuff. Architects are convinced that they are geniuses for making geometric shapes.
About the 4:10 noodles, Wikipedia copy-pasta: In 2002, following the destruction of the World Trade Center in the September 11 attacks the previous year, the firm proposed that the site be "turned into a new World Peace Center, dominated by sinuous red and green towers that curve into the sky like twisting blades of grass".The pair later criticized the conduct of the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition held to select a design for the rebuilding of the site, saying that "architects from around the world never really got what was at stake at Ground Zero", with proposals failing to focus on the improving the lives of people, and that "our profession gave the worst kind of response.
As an architect I took a look in these I wanted the final design what now stands at the cite to be built and for the memorial cite to be studo liveskind to be his idea for where the pools sit now
I wish the first design in this video was the actual design for the new towers. I was only a year old when 9/11 occurred. Therefore, I never got to see nor visit them. That first design would have been the closest thing to being able to do so.
I think that the empty space that sits where the towers once were is the best idea because so many lives were lost. to build another set of buildings would be rubbing it in their family’s faces and it would be disrespectful to the people and first responders that sadly passed away.❤
Sometimes architects design things that aren’t necessary physically feasible. As in, it could be built, it could be a real thing that exists, but for how long until a natural disaster wipes it out? It’s not really their job to think about the engineering aspects of these projects, so a lot of them just don’t sometimes.
Even if the twin towers were still there and these other surrounding buildings surrounding them it’s obstructing the great view of the twin towers just like these newer buildings are obstructing some views from the Empire State Building.
5:00 this looks like something out of a videogame or sci-fi world. Something Dubai would make too. The Earth ball is reallly tacky, but I can see it being something else. I think it's cool, but not as a wtc replacement.
Looking at these makes my appreciate the new one world trade centre tower we got. Its honostly yhe best design and by a long way for a new building. Also its design of having the base of the original towers, and looking like the two towers have mirged together at the top is pretty cool
Todos terríveis! Não é possível que ninguém pensou em fazer duas torres ainda mais majestosas do que as de antes? Depois de ver essas coisas horrorosas, a torre que está lá hoje, ficou belíssima pra mim agora.
The visual impact of the twin towers was not only that they were the tallest buildings, but that there were two. The new single WTC 1 gets lost in the mix of other buildings. The single building leaves no visual effect even though it is taller than the originals (1776’).
They built 1wtc to make America look great and unbeaten from 9/11 surely building wtc as a double like the originals would make that statement bolder leaving it as 1 looks odd and out of place… should of t done what trump originally said
0:28: great imagination there, trump. Bold, innovative. Exciting. NOT I like the current design, with one exception: it should be 1776 feet BEFORE adding the antenna. There are three residential buildings along 57th Street that, by roof height, are very obviously taller.
