Will This Be The Worlds Second Tallest Tower? In Dubai developers of the already construction Burj Azizi claim that it will be around 2,228 ft (679 m) or more. If these claims are true then it would beat out the current second tallest, the Merdeka PNB118 in Kuala Lumpur. And it would do so without a 500 foot spire.

The design is blah but I do like the concept. I think if Dubai had a stronger core CBD this wouldn't looks so out of place.. I still hope it gets built though! I love a skyscraper race!

Unlike Burj Kalifa, this one looks like it'd fit right at home in the downtown of cities like Chicago, LA, NYC, Hong Kong, Shanghai, etc etc. I'm getting vibes of one of the Chicago WTC proposals combined with Melbourne's Eureka tower.

Thank you! I have 3d models of Las Vegas, and Miami however they're far from presentable. Dubai is finally reaching a presentable state so I'm pushing to finish all of the buildings I plan on making Dubai content with before hoping back to the other cities. I might also try some smaller cities to change it up. Something I can finish in a month rather than half a year lol.

I would suggest adding a material mask with some sort of Fresnel/reflective material for the water areas - Unreal should have some of those in the stock assets. Also, if you're not using them already, try adding some more bump/displacement maps on the towers so it shows more detail as opposed to being a simple image on a 2D plane. Not sure about 4 but in UE5 the "Normal from Height Map" node usually provides a convincing result with the same texture as the diffuse map. Also, you may want to add a hint of edge fog to improve realism. A couple low-poly cars/buses/trains on the ground would help too!

My ground parent material is actually already set up with a reflective rippling movement animation at the water, I just haven't set up all the alpha masks for it. You can see it in action in my NYC and Chicago model. Also believe it or not but all the buildings do have bump. The parent is setup by taking the diffuse into a normalize node and I have it set to 1.2. Anything higher than that makes it look super muddy and bad especially if the building is reflective.

Question. If the FAA has a height limit of 2,000 feet for skyscrapers, why was One WTC not built to that height in its final design? Sooner or later will have another "Chicago Spire" like title taken from WTC, which is dissapointing. 2000/2001 feet would also be symbolic year for the new century, year of the attack to not forget and US would have a megatall. I would've like 1776ft roof height and 2000/1ft architectural total height. Would it be that hard? Also why no open roof observatory on 2 WTC? That was the whole point of. They could've extended observatory structure in glass above those diamonds.

yes - -1 wtc isn't really 1776 ft - - the "spire" is actually an antenna (they scrapped the original spire to save $) so technically it doesn't count for roof height.

If LAIFC is in LA it will be 3rd because 1wtc still taller and The Centerpiece will be 5th after sears

Hi man, it would be awesome if you can put all the proposed, cancelled and unfinished skyscrapers in Dubai. There is plenty 1 kilometer + towers that was proposed. Dubai would be mindblowing city is they constructed all of the skyscrapers that where in plans!

Cool video Lewis 😎👍interesting/cool in it's simplicity - - when was it announced? the wind is really going to sway that flat rectangular top by like 6-10- ft. know who is taking up that much space? (that's like 2-3x floor space as the burj)

Thanks! the developer took over the sight a while ago and resumed construction shortly after. But the renderings and the height claims came just a week or two ago.

while i’m not the biggest fan of megatalls (or any 400m+ building because they’re so expensive although there are some exceptions for me because they look cool) think this design looks pretty cool. glad it won’t be THE tallest because i think the world’s tallest should look less rectangular than this. plus it’d be a middle finger to merdeka’s big dumb spire. although i do think this would make a cool megatall for chicago, and make it the chicago spire’s height so it can be iconic while also not standing out too much. A video of this building in chicago skyline maybe??? ;P

This would look very much at home in Chicago. I'll probably make a video on it. It is strange how most buildings this tall avoid shapes like this because of wind loads but we'll see. Hope they have good engineers on the job.

Wow! Amazing rendering of Dubai !!... 🤩 Do you know the name of the tower hiding behind the Big-ben like one around 0:11? I can see it being built right now from my window, and I didn't know it will become that tall eventually!

Thanks. Its called Dubai City Tower designed by the late Cesar Pelli. It will reach 358m (1175ft) tall when finished.
