Wow, what a grand time to be a cycling fan. Guys doped to the gills socking it out with each other. Doper Lance so bored he is yawning on the TDF podium with a thrilled Lithuanian doper who was only hours away from getting his entire family arrested with a car stocked with more EPO than even Motoman would think of carrying (LOL!) All the while cheering them on like heroes and Gods (Lance).
After Lance got kicked out some young Italian guy came out of nowhere and was shredding dudes in the mountains in the TDF. I remember Phil Leggett being his usual dopey self and calling the guy as the product of the now clean racing era we were about to enjoy. After a rest day they came back to the somber news that the dude was arrested and kicked out of the TDF and France for doping. I can't remember his name but years later in one last bid to make something of himself in cycling he ended up in the hospital and almost died, after... wait for it... blood doping using a dog's blood. If you can ever find his name it would make an amazing story.
Love him or hate him. Did they really prove his doping? Yes he admitted it on Oprah, but who believes Oprah. The public enabled this. They don't want to see my lard ass climb a huge mountain in two days. To his credit, no one alive or dead has raised so much awareness for cancer. I would shake his hand if ever I met him. Our politicians lie to us everyday and we don't care and still vote for them.
mais...putain....vous en avez quoi à foutre ? vous courriez en compétition avec ces guerriers qui nous ont fait plaisir, et ils vous ont fumés ? ou alors vous blablater sans raisons ? comme des importants " justiciers".....😂
Berzin's peak result was there mostly because of internal grudges among the team. He declared he could have won the Giro alone, so alienating the favor of his teammates. In 1995 he was still at peak form. At the Euskal Bizikleta he fought with teammate Francesco Frattini, who he denied a victory. The feud produced one of the most impressive climbs of any time, that of the Alto Arrante in 11'55", with a VAM of 2029 m/h and an estimated power of 7,65 W/kg. The 1995 Giro was won by Rominger mostly because Berzin and Ugrumov fought each-other. In 1996 he was past his peak, but won a time trial at the Giro, two at the Tour de Swisse, one at the Tour de France, kept the yellow jersey for two days and was well into the race until stage 15, all of that running practically alone.
I love how you almost skipped over the fact that he made the exact same time of Steven Kruijswijk, nothing more than an honest wingman. So yeah, the performance was odd, but not really unbelievable, especially since, as said, contrary to Valverde and Kruijswijk, not having general rank's ambitions, he rested the day before. BTW, in absolute terms, that performance had been nothing to write home about, The identical one of Kruijswijk had been measured in VAM of 1646 m/h = 6.09 w/kg .
WAIT WAIT... so the ITALIAN football team got done for doping...and YET later WINS a WORLD FIFA CUP and THE VERY NEXT YEAR THE ENTIRE ITALAIN FOOTBALL LEAGUE is thrown into DISRIPUTE YET AGAIN for rigging wins??????. OH WOW. NOT mind blown.....Go BIDEN????. BAAAAAAAAAA.
Lance Armstrong shared the TDF podium with 14 other cyclists. 13 of them forfeited their podium finishes due to doping. I was the last person alive to believe Lance was clean, but this second fact is what really turned me off the sport. I love cycling, but it is not about competition.
It's good that Cycling Stories acknowledges that Serie A was awash with dope in the 80's and 90's We all should know what Dr Ferrari said about the Spain National football team in the early to mid 2000's. Cyclists are an easy target when talking about doping but loads of other sports must do it. I know a famous former SPL (Scotland) footballer who said in his 15 year SPL carear he was tested no more than 2-3 times a year. I'm not accusing him of taking PED's but a couple of tests a year is a joke
My uncle beated Rooks in the amateurs in the 80's before Rooks went pro. My father spoke to him a few years ago he stlll remembered that race, Rooks is a nice guy.
wasnt sean king kelly rumored to enhance his form too? whats concerning is that in last few years no major scandals in cycling, they either finally got clean or new drugs are undetectable
As a coach and former elite rider ..I can honestly say that Jan Ulrich was Merckx standard ...excellent rider ...tough upbringing ...I can't understand this nearly was idea ..he was Olympic road champion..world tt champ a d 2nd in the your at least 5 times against an incredible athlete'e who s moto was "pain is temporary losing is for er " poor management is why he did not do more ..Yan is human ..this video is cruel and inaccurate ..
