Nicely done token exchange. We had a 'looks similar but is actually different' thing here in the US back in the days of written train orders where the station agent or tower operator would hold up the papers on a string in a hoop for the locomotive crew & then the caboose crew to each snag a copy.
I photographed this loco in Whitby station on Saturday 24 August . It had just been un-coupled from a rake of coaches and was looking lovely and freshly painted .
I was staying there next door recently, on Mill Court, with a view of the river and the railway bridge, on my other channel @Transportation adventures, you can see it, it is a beautiful place to stay, I recommend anyone else visiting,
I stay in Ruswarp instead of Whitby when the NYMR steam gala is on and visit The Bridge Inn for tea and refreshments... Maybe see you guys in September?
I must say, the hot meat sandwiches and real ale in the Bridge Inn are fantastic. Only just discovered this place, but really like it. Will definitely be going again.
