I've had them for 3 months and all has been good with them. Only complaints I have are one of my outer lights that use the white plastic bolt with the spring didn't line up well so it was a pain to put in so there's a slight gap along the top but can only be seen if you are standing right next to it looking down from above. Then I added some caulk along the top edge of the outer lights since they didn't look well sealed in some spots. But otherwise they've been great so far.
I did exactly as you said in the video and it still doesn't work, I put the blue wire at the end of the row of switches to be together with the white one and it still doesn't work
That's odd, that should have worked. Next step I'd say is to make sure the pin is all the way in and all the electrical connections are good? Is it lighting up when in reverse, and if so what color?
If the car was made in a country where the steering wheel is on the left side, then the gas cap will be on the right side. If the car was made in a country where the steering wheel is on the right side, then the gas cap will be on the left side.
The extra one? Which light is it coming from, the outer lights or the hatch lights? There are two connectors that have yellow and black wires coming out. One is a grey colored connector shown in the video at 8:26 that goes to the black resistor boxes for the outer lights. Then the second connector is a small black one with long yellow and black wires coming out that connects between the outer light and the hatch light to get the sequential blinker.
did you simply pull out the blue wire from the black housing or have to do something special to remove it, i feel i'm pulling too hard and it'll break. thanks
Yeah i just pulled it out of the housing. It was really hard to pull put. You could try pushing the silver pin downward a bit and pull the blue wire since those silver pins on the end of the wire have a little botch thing that helps it stay in the black housing.
Question: Can I use that same OEM light switch to have auxiliary fog lights fitted to.? I'd have yellow fog lights mounted & want the wiring to access the OEM switch. Then when I pull the switch, it should light the 1 rear fog + front auxiliary fog lights.? Y.? I have 2018 MK7.5 Golf R, and they don't have fog lights. I would like to add them! Should work.?
Does your switch pull out at all even though you dont have fogs? If it does then i think you could use that switch but if not then youd probably have to look at getting a euro switch which has all the settings like parking lights and both front and rear fogs. Thats how mine is at least. Id have to get a euro switch to get rear fog functionality. Then if there aren’t any kits out there for the mk7 Rs you could look at getting mk7 gti fog harnesses to use with that switch and then lights that fit your bumper.
Pretty sure the door panel trim is plastic riveted into the panel, once you pop em off they aren't really held in after that. I know because I've had to drill rivets back there when I swapped handles to door pull straps. Do they stay in or are they loose? I just lay the vinyl without taking them off.
