I got the P5 and the only thing I didn’t like is the top cover. I added a down alternative topper and I use it with a mattress cover. It feels much better for me.
Why is it Sleep Number's fault you bought your bedframe after your purchase? You had 100 nights to return the integrated base/boxspring! How would you know the value isn't worth the price? You didn't even have it 100 Nights.... I've had 2 beds the 1st one 16 yrs. Helped my husband's back immensely!!!! Wayyy worth the value. Now I have the newer model and LOVE it!! The C-4 is the basic model, one of the basic even less expensive mattress too so the value is worth the price!!!💯
Seems the biggest complaint you have is the price, and you knew how much it was when purchased. My thought is price was a problem when you bought it, and all you have done at this point is test drive it at a cost of $400.00. In fairness to the seller you should have never made the purchase.
Sleep Number has 10 models so it sounds like they bought based on price and not what works for them. With several models there is a bed model for Everyone
Price is pretty comparable when some inner spring mattresses cost $8000. We bought a $3500 Sterns and Foster 8 years ago and that was just for the mattress. I never had back pain until we bought it. Just ordered a P5 king with the base out the door for $3700. 15 year pro rate warranty, free delivery and set up. No regrets with price, I know what I’m paying for and have slept well on sleep numbers in the past.
People are talking about paying more for the thicker pillow top models. We bought this same model and added our own memory foam gel 4" topper. It's great. And when/if the topper wears out we just get another one, not a whole new bed. The main problem blem I have with our bed is that the mattress slides on the base. Going to add a footboard to help with that.
I'm waiting for mine but didn't go with base wouldn't fit in house queen size. Had to reschedule but afraid of platform bed if it will work ...I hope it does
The fact that you messed-up on what parts to purchase for the bed you would get, is not Sleep Numbers fault. It's messed-up when people review something and call it a "con"...when THEY were the ones who messed-up. We did the same, realized we had slats under the existing mattress we were going to replace, called Sleep number, and just cancelled the base. (Or the "box spring" as you call it). No biggie, they cancelled it, and we ended-up getting a thin 2" inch "bunkie board" to lay over the slats. (Sleep number recommends not having more than 2" inches between slats when laying the mattress on top. And our existing slats were 3 1/2" inches between slats). So we got an $120 bunkie board that was a bit heavy-duty, and had the slats oriented from head to foot (instead of crosswise), and 1 1/2" inches between slats. We both prefer stiffer beds, and so far our C4 mattress is perfect for us. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you.
@@ldang0792 No. Nothing had been delivered, so the entire money for the base was refunded. But let me add one thing that we thought was kinda sneaky of them. During the initial purchase, they charged us for the base, and then added $250 in case we decided we didn’t want the bed. The bed return would have been free. But the extra $250 was for the return of the base. In other words, if we returned the bed, they kept $250 to pick-up the base. But If we DIDNT return the bed, they would have kept that extra $250. We thought it was conniving that they didn’t explain this to us. Or maybe it was just the salesperson we dealt with at their store. Bottom line, I found this out when we cancelled the base and got over $600 refunded back to us. But the mattress is sweet, and me and the wifey are super loving it. And if we could pass on advice to friends, we would tell them to save a couple of hundred dollars and just have it shipped to us, and I would construct the mattress myself. There is nothing difficult at all to put the mattress together. And the pumps and app were stupid simple to figure out. (Don’t pay $40 for the remote. Just use the app in your cell phone to make the settings, and view your sleep info). Just my opinion.
Raymond Moreno Jr interesting. I was asking because we got the free shipping for purchasing the mattress and base together and thought if I cancelled the base, they would charge me the shipping fee. They didn’t even offer us an option to set it up ourselves but we didn’t get charged for any set up.
@@ldang0792 Double check. You most probably did get charged for the delivery and setup. (They will add in an extra $250 for the base…in case you didn’t want it and had them come and pick it back up. And if you kept it, they still pocketed that $250. Ask how much it would have cost to ONLY get the mattress delivered. By the way, the mattress itself is super light. Your preteen daughter could probably pick it up by herself. (We have a queen bed). The base is a different story. Bulky, and would take two people to carry upstairs.
By the way, these are just quirks we saw during our purchase, which we were not happy about. And now that I know better, if you only wanted the mattress (sans the base), I would recommend getting it shipped to you, and you can build it yourself. Saves you about $200. But we are super happy with the bed itself. We prefer a stiffer bed, so the C4 cushion was the best for us. I’ve seen people purchase the C4 mattress, and then purchase an aftermarket cushion if they needed more cushioning. Saved themselves some money, and can always replace the extra cushion a few years down the line when it will eventually start to compress. (Which EVERY CUSHION eventually will). Just saying. :)

Just purchased our 3rd C4 Sleep Number bc we really like them. First one was a queen size, second we upsized to a king and gave our queen to our daughter, third one we are purchasing for our vacation home. I have bought all of them when on sale and in addition to the sale price they sometimes offer free delivery, which we got this time. In addition, since I am a repeat customer and a Sleep Number Insider (free), I get a little bit discount even if there is not a Sale going on. So this go round we saved $1000 bc of SALE and saved $250 with free delivery and got an additional $50 off with coupon they offered.
I've own my SleepNumber bed for 20 years. (worth the money) I have paid the same amount of money for top quality mattresses that were have was heavy as hell to flip over and rotate. I was wondering if she did you any research but before she bought the bed? Of course, when both bed partners can select their own mattress pressure thats why would there are two separate mattresses. . . therefore a gap. Also, the air mattress can't be supported by bed slats, it needs a flat surface . . . thats common sense. I personally used 3/4" plywood deck. To everyone that is reading my review (as long time owner). It's really a great bed and it has saved my back from doing those frequent mattress rotations.
Had to shut it off halfway. Her biggest gripe was the price which she knew upfront. It looks like she's just moaning to be able to return it before the 100 day trial expires.
I don't like my new to me Sleep Number. My friend gave me her 5 year old bed when she bought a new one. I like to spread out and with the Queen bed you have 2 chambers with a hump in-between.
I think the I 8 is an awesome mattress. Yes you're paying considerably more to go to a brick and mortar store with actual American citizen employees Yes there's a sales commission to the sales person and yes the office manager gets a salary. So yes we're going to pay more for the Mattress. As far as the quality of the mattress of course it's there, as far as the baseOr what we usually call it Box Spring, it's not necessary you could just put a piece of plywood downJust need something to hold the mattress up.But the adjustable baseIt's quite expensive it's almost the same price as the mattress.
Good review, and I agree. The beds are okay but far overpriced in my opinion. I don't think their technology is justified at this price point. It's simply overpriced. $5,100 for their high end mattress. Seriously, give me a break, it's no where near worth the price. We'll be going back a hybrid pillow top as it's far more comfortable, in our experience.
My spouse's heart flutters ceased as soon as we disconnected the sleep number from wi-fi and unplugged the bed. Weird. THEN we discovered the effects of Electromagnetic Frequencies on the human body the brain and the heart. Something tells me, maybe you dont need to have 'sensitivity' to it. Buyer beware...its very innovative, but what would hooking up wi-fi and and EMF to the human body every night- what does this do to our health today or ...long term? Gotta wonder.

I hate "sleep number", nothing but an overpriced hyped up air mattress that leaks. None of the setting feels any different except it fails in comparison to a Beautyrest hybrid like a black or beyond, nothing else can come close.
To be honest, your review is laughable. You sound like a silly whiney baby complaining about things that you were in complete control of learning about prior to buying. You knew the price going in to the sale, right? Also, you were completely surprised that it required a base? That's their fault? Good grief, this video should serve as an utter embarrassment to you. Just bought a i8 with flex 2 split top king. Spouse is a school teacher got 20% off purchase saved $1900 . Total cost out the door $8200 also ordered two bed sheets, two pillows and I mattress protector. $170 a month 48 interest free.
The Warranty stinks, I'e owned a c4 for 5 years and one of the mattress developed a leak, it's costing me 70 dollars to replace, and the longer you own the mattress the more expensive it is to get replacement parts up to the end of the warranty 15-20 years if the mattress fails it could cost up to 98% of the mattress cost to repair! given the price of the mattress they should have free repairs for the duration of the mattress!
I own a 10 year old Pillow top C4 and it is STILL amazing. Took me 3 months to get used to it but it is a quality of life improvement I would not do without. Buying an S1 model for my mom soon.
A lot of her review is based on personal issues. They bought the mattress and box spring before buying a bed. Not the smartest way to do it. So this issue was due to their personal decisions, has nothing to do with the mattress. As far as cost, they knew the price when they bought it, and would hope that they looked at and tried the bed out first. For Sleep Number, they bought basically the entry level mattress.....the second lowest priced. And that's fine, but of course, you aren't getting the best. It's like comparing a Chevy to a Cadillac. As far as her claim that most people want the same firmness/softness over 10 years or more, I believe the opposite is true. Over time, most people would love the option to adjust the firmness/softness of a bed. And to be able to raise your head and feet is a wonderful option for certain needs and comfort. Over years, nobody stays the same. Their body changes, aches, pains or other sleep issues are nice to have more control over. With a regular inner-spring mattress, you only get a mattress that is what it is. I purchased a high end inner spring mattress 14 years ago. It's done, and probably 2 or 3 years past done it's useful life, so we recently purchased the I8 Flex Top with required base. We bought the flex top as we did not feel the need to vary our foot level as that would have meant a split king. We did not like the idea of two separate mattresses. I love the idea that over the years we'll be able to adjust it based on our needs, not what the mattress can do or not do. We also understood how the mattress is made, what it can do or not do, and how much it cost. Of course, the best decision is an informed decision, and from this, I don't think the reviewer did that.
You nailed it. I have a sleep number mattress. The store was completely upfront about all the important issues long before the mattress was purchased. This review was excessively repetitive and tainted with some misinformation. I've had my sleep number mattress for 4 years and I still love it.
Also I’m not telling people how to spend their money but you’re correct. They knew the price before buying the mattress and I believe they got buyers remorse. There’s a reason why companies give you a cheaper option, not saying $4000 is cheap but they have higher prices for more features. The mattress being too high is the buyers fault for not measuring the base and mattress on their frame. I got the ile and it’s their 2nd most expensive mattress for $4000. They have sales here and there year round.
Shoot I've got the c2 and that's the lowest of the low and to me it feels great...I don't feel the air chambers and the memory foam is plenty thick enough. Maybe it's bc I weight 160 but to me the c2 is perfect and was only 1100
