Another good virtual Summit. I liked the shortened version to keep it to one hour. The FinOps Foundation gives us all a change to be involved in many ways such the Community calls and working groups. There are lots of in person Roadshows coming up so check the schedule for the show in your corner of the world! It is hard to break away from work for more than 60 minutes so I appreciate the new format.

wonder what is the size of their CUR if they still are able to use spreadsheet, or that is data rinsed thru cost explorer and not working directly with CUR data
Thanks for the question! So it's the latter - which is not that we used a spreadsheet that itself was directly integrated to any vendor's bill, but that we used a spreadsheet as a single pane of glass for all the multiple vendors in the program. The way the spreadsheet looks in a bit more detail is that we had a weekly target and actuals for each vendor, split by our business units. I chose to represent the spreadsheet as the artifact of this "Data Ingestion and Normalization" capability for the talk, because that capability represents the bulk of the investment behind the scenes to reach the point where we could put weekly numbers in one place - figuring out a good source for each vendor and how to get it into a weekly format by business unit. For AWS, that's via Cost Explorer and Cost Categories. For other vendors, the solution and effort varied. Moving forward, having completed our vendor evaluation "boss fight", we're able to stop maintaining some of these more complex ETLs ourselves.
Great KPI, thanks a lot for sharing. Would be great to correlate this KPI with the actual usage of the instances in vcpu and ram utilisation rate in order to see how well they are actually used.

The segment with Biba Helou resonated with me the most. Architecture and Engineering teams are vital to the success of any FinOps practice within an organization no matter where in the maturity scale its in. 100% agree a central FinOps practice is the way to go !
I was in the Data & Analytics space for 11 years prior to this. Learning FinOps was not hard, especially I got in when it wasn't very popular. Reading the FinOps book, and engaging with the FinOps foundation community on Slack definitely helped
