Thanks for this! I'm currently kicking myself for not including a written payment schedule in my contract-a big rookie mistake! The manager who hired me is no longer with the company, so it's important to identify who is bound by the contract! If you offer retainer packages, I'd love to know what you typically offer in them - for a future video.

Love Haven City Market. Glad I stumbled across your YT channel. I'm a photographer and my ideal business is HS sports photography. Just nervous with the whole business aspect. Not sure where to start.
Sounds like your mic recorded to the left channel only in the vlog. I’ve done this on accident and had to make a checklist item for my editing process to change it to dual mono and test in headphones.
Thanks bro for posting this video. I just had a 7 day shoot, two different clients. The hardest part is finding the time and energy to unpack your gear and then planning the editing afterwards...
I wish I could just sit and do a vlog damn I know its just extra content but it 12mins long which is perfect and not thing crazy. simple and to the point.
Congrats bro. My wife and I been fulltime on RU-vid for 3 years. I'm building my solo channel now teaching some monetization tips. I can also help you wherever needed. Just let me know.
@@Semesem_ yes I bet! I just checked your upload schedule again and it seems pretty cool and doable 💯 you might go crazy.. Cuz this is actually very cool.. 60 bucks a day.. And soon there will be companies that wanna collab with you 🙏🏾 💯 you'll see.. Claiming it 🚀
Also, you know what I been thinking? You ever make a video of how you send of your drafts to clients? I been looking at Frame IO but just discovered Visual Story from Sony. Trying to see what is best.
Get to the moneyyy! I know what to expect after having 3 monetized channels of my own… longer videos 😂 like… wayyy longer videos and no more under 8 minutes 😂
@@Semesem_ just something to try bc I did it on one channel and the one video has made me $17k over the past 2 years… Make a compilation of all of your videos that relate to education and call it a 2 hour or 3 hour masterclass. Or season 1 marathon. Literally just put all of your videos back to back with title cards between each episode, then timestamp it in the description. Will slowly build views over time as it gains watch hours, and it will have huge RPM. Not everyone will see each individual video or watch them through. But many will just let the one video roll through like a podcast, or save it and keep coming back to it as they can bc it’s easier than finding a ton of individual topical videos. Both have their place but you’re missing out on $$$ if you don’t do a couple of these compilations every year.
Thanks for the video. I grabbed the Z1 and the X instead of the Pro 2. Almost grabbed the Pro 2 but realized I would have to stay with the Pro level (or higher) subscription to use the Pro 2. I can see doing that once I have regular clients but not starting out. Also, I see no advantages of the Pro 2 or Pro 3 except to "look more professional" on-site by using a bigger camera.
@@clkb8moto I completely agree . And even with all the clients I have. Using matterport is on requested 5% of the time . And my clients aren’t usually onsite when I’m using it so it works out to go smaller
Burnout is real…and that’s the part about it when it comes to freelance work that most people forget about. Glad you acknowledged and found a rhythm to work around it and not hate your work. Good video
Great great video love that you kept your dog in 😂. I just found your channel and really appreciate what you said about liking new shiny things but that this channel won’t be pushing product like a lot do. I’ve been shooting for years but I am moving to a new city, and am looking to make a set up for personal creative content, as well as commercial projects that come up of course. My question is, if you were just starting now, based on your thoughts in this video about learning one camera and one or two lenses, does anything compete with the dji ronin 4d? I have also have two 4ft , two 2ft, one 1ft aperture tube lights, as well as a amaran 150c.
Great video, I’m going to rent one for a test shoot before I go to Japan to shoot a singer on tour. Any chance you can get your hands on one of the flex versions to compare?
I go after their budget in most cases especially if I detect cheapassness and provide them services that match their budget as I explain to them why. I’ve had people ask me to shoot an hour reception at their job, or celebratory event for $300. dollars and they offered food and drink and I told them thank you, but I don’t work for food, but at that rate I’ll gladly show up with my point and shoot camera or iPhone to celebrate your moment with you while capturing above average footage for your keepsake moment. You should see the look on their faces. It’s become a part of my dialog with those who are CHEAP or simply don’t value their event or respect my craft. Sometimes you gotta’ piss in their lemonade to get their attention.😂😂😂🤷🏽♂️
you said somethign that i think other ppl need to just go through "i dont believe in my brand yet" so dont beat yourself up get confidence and work your way up your time will come
Heard Chris Do say if you get 3 “yes” in a row, 1.5x your price. and keep going until you hear 3 “nos”. And i won’t even say you have to believe in your brand more, just understand what it is your service does for people. At the end of the day it’s business. The more money you make someone the more you can charge.
