So most windshield shops these days are charging around 500.00 for this service. I'm not sure how that is justified even with the accrued cost of the calibration equipment and liability insurance required to do this kind of work. A few years ago it was about 300.00 to calibrate which was tolerable. I blame subaru - I think it's safe to say most people who currently own optical based ADAS vehicles will steer clear of these models for their future purchases
This is a great video. Thank you for it. One question - The pictures shown on the scan tool you used shows the reflector (antenna) with one of its points, pointing upward. However you have the antenna oriented such that the "top" of the antenna is flat. Does this orientation matter? The scan tool reported a successful calibration. I wonder if one also achieve a successful cal if the antenna was rotated as per what is shown on the scan tool? Would you know?
Good observation. The tablet's graphic of the trihedral corner reflector is shown in what is a "normal" position where the pointed side is facing up and the flat side is facing down. However, most OEM ADAS calibration equipment sets up the reflector with the flat side up and the pointed side down. Apologies for the confusion.
This is cool! I just had my windshield replaced and i got to see a little bit of the calibration, but I didn't understand what the range finding panels on the wheels were all about. Now I get it. Pretty cool.
For the US market, we are in the process of obtaining approval through Auto Auth. Once this process is completed, the tablet (software) will be able to get through the SGW.
The current generation of Honda Civic multi-purpose camera (front) can be calibrated either by static or dynamic methods. Regardless, both methods are kicked off by the ADAS calibration feature of the diagnostic tool.

Because of the R&R procedure, yes it may need to be re-calibrated. We recommend you take it an ADAS calibration qualified shop to confirm the ACC radar unit isn't damaged and re calibrate as needed.

Assuming that the aftermarket mirror (assembly?) is still using the OE lane watch camera, my guess is it should work unless for some reason the aftermarket mirror does not hold the camera in the same manner as an OE unit.
Calibration of BSD is needed if for example the vehicle was involved in a rear end accident whereby damage to the BSD radar sensor or mounts occur. The radar unit would either need to be replaced and/or its mounts and that would necessitate the need for calibration.
