Thank you!! I tend to agree, I think people who REALLY want them will pay full price but fit the materials and cushioning tech I see these easily coming down to $/€70-80 easily. We saw it with the LeBron 22 and I think we'll see it with these.
I have a pair they fit better true to size small feet they look terrible on his foot gap at the front and says theyr not premium misses so many points my vid coming
The foam is on the softer side but I think they should be ok for squats. The base is wide enough. If you prefer a more firm base then definitely go with something like a Romaleos.
Sorry for the delay... I was trying to see if there was anything in the way of arch support and there didn't seem to be anything special going on. I think if you're looking for more support you might want to replace the insole with a more premium one with arch support to provide some relief with these trainers.
I think it depends on your preference, I think if you prefer a more firm shoe the Metcon is probably the way to go. If you'd like something a bit more soft/plush the TR1 is the way. they're definitely comfy I just think they may be too soft for some. Considering the Metcons have been around for so long, it's a shoe that's been ultra refined so I think you know what you're getting with that series.
I have this exact color way. I find these shoes to be perfect for basketball. The main issue I had was the material is extremely prone to scuffs, especially if you want to play basketball in them. I personally don’t care, it’s just kind of annoying if you want to casually wear them.
I honestly thought they were releasing yesterday (9/19/24) but now I'm not sure. They're on the Nike as coming soon but no date. my assumption now would be tomorrow since Saturday are "usual" release days for most Nike product.
I've never worn the metcon series but they look to be much more low to the ground and firm which would make them more stable, I'd say based on that, they would probably be better and more stable.
Yeah, I've been thinking about the pricing. For a training shoe that doesn't actually feature any real advancements, it's a tough sell (if you're a Bron fan and wanted a branded training shoe, you've hit the jackpot). I do think these will get discounted sooner than later though. But I think this is just the start... We may even see LeBron branded football boots (soccer cleats??) amongst other equipment for other sports.
Yeah it's a hard sell especially with the metcon series offering zoom of some sort. Even if they did cushion or zoom x (it would blow up the cost of the shoe) would be an easier sell.
Nike always does this, debuted a dope Olympic colorway just to release this garbage. We will probably never get a chance to purchase the best colorway. 🚮
They really do. One of the most egregious is when they debuted the KD 9 in two preheat colorways, black multi color with an iridescent swoosh (really really nice) and a white color way with hyper punch and an iridescent swoosh. They only released the white colorway and I desperately wanted the black version.
It's as if they know people want the good colorways but didn't want us to have them. the GT Cut 1 white hyper punch... Super limited, resell is crazy. That's another one.
Pretty good, since you're foot is sitting on a wide base, it feels fairly stable especially with the way the midsole wraps around the lateral side of your foot.
I don't have a whole lot of experience boxing but I think from a sparring perspective, I'd assume yes, they'll keep you comfy and relatively stable. On the martial arts side, I don't think so. As a kid taking tae kwon do, we attended classes and tournaments barefoot.
Thank you! I would say the cushioning the Jump 2 uses (I believe it's React and Zoom) the hustle 3 is much much more plush and bouncy. Based on my brief experience with the Jump 1... I would 100% go with the Hustle 3 just based on weight and cushioning. From a stability perspective, the Jump 1 and from what I've seen, the Jump 2, seem to be much more stable based on how they're built. So if you're looking for more stability, I'd say the Jump 2.
To be perfectly honest, I think the heel portion is on the softer side, so they may work against you if you're weight training. While they're stable, I feel like you need it to be a bit more firm to get the most from the workout. For light weight training I think they'll be perfectly fine but anything more than that you may want a dedicated shoe like the Nike Romaleos.
That's a really good point I think I was so focused on the fact that my feet hurt so bad that I didn't even realize the ventilation wasnt great either. Looking at the shoe there isn't any ventilation holes or mesh place anywhere around the shoe so it just traps everything inside. Thank you for that and thank you for watching!
The 2009 pair is far from the 1997 OG Pair. The red on that 09 pair was more of a bright maroon type red than Varsity Red. Also the shape of that shoe was more short and less sleek. The 2023 pair imo is the closest to the 97 pair we’re going to get. Even collectors that have a DS 1997 pair said the same thing
That's amazing to hear, I appreciate that. When I tell you I was obsessed with this shoe as a kid... I was obsessed. The fact that they got it as close to OG as they did makes me happy. I haven't unds'd mine yet but I'm itching to. Thank you for the insight!
It's blasphemous generally to say the 12 since the 3s and 4s are generally the popular "best" shoes. But the 12 is what started my love of sneakers... and the Questions. I have to ask... What's number 1?
Yes! Can't argue with that, great shoe great colorway. The 14s were my first Jordans, saved up and bought them on clearance 😂 the indiglo colorway specifically. The 5s are classics... Just the silhouette and story/inspiration. Had the grape 5s from... 2014 or something like that but ended up selling them.
This dude is stupid…..Jordan went to six championships and won six……Lebron went to 8 and only won 4 …..what is he talking about, these dude’s these days have a crazy thought process….Lebron crowns himself but the people scream Jordan is the greatest of all time…..oh and don’t forget about Lebron’s load management lol
Just wondering if you can help me out choosing a shoe i should buy. I am currently looking at either these or the wade all city 12 encores. I am a shifty, explosive light & small guard that plays only on indoor courts (some are super clean but also some are pretty dusty) I want to be comfortable and have a bit of bounce in my shoes while also having good shock absorbance. Also i dont want no heel slippage. If there's any small things people might have left out in their reviews about either of the shoes that would also help thanks
I haven't had any experience with the WoW AC 12 Encore but I was reading up on reviews and it seems they offer great all round performance at a great price. I personally never played in them but have had experience in other WoW models and they were fantastic; fit, price, traction and cushioning. NOW, Anta Kai 1 is a fantastic shoe in every respect. Fit, traction, cushioning, containment, design, price... Everything was great on this shoe. I absolutely love them. For your play style they offer great court feel and balanced cushioning... You have the best of both. Another option that is my go to if I'm not testing is the Sabrina 2... Excellent shoe and at an excellent price; has everything you'd want in a shoe.
Traction on a moderately clean court was very good, while I didn't get to play on a dusty one, I think they should hold up good with that combo of the shark skin nubs and radial treads on the edges. Creasing was pretty minimal, slight crease show but nothing bad.
Great review! And, actually midsole is phylon not react. it’s very soft phylon foam. I saw a marketing video about GT Hustle 3 on offline Nike shop in Korea, and that video showed midsole is phylon foam that made softer and lighter.
You think if you replace the insole of the AJ 39 with the insole from an AJ 18 because those have an embedded carbon fiber shank that it would be a nice substitute? I have a few 18’s might give it a go.
That's a great question! I'd be curious if that works. My only concern would be how much bulk would that add and if your feet would fit comfortably with that on there. I didn't rip out the insoles from the 39s so I'm not 100% how thick they are but I assume they're just about the same as any other Nike insole... Flimsy.
Hopefully I can get the insoles out from the 39’s and 18’s without too much hassle. I think the 18’s insoles would be nice for my foot personally since the 39’s give me some wiggle room especially now since there completely broken in.
@markg5419 that's a good point. If you can, follow up and let me know how that works out. I imagine if you get them out the glue that's already there should hopefully keep the 18s insole in place. I was gonna do something similar for my serious Players only. I want to take that drop in and... Drop it in my OG Kobe 9s.
It's subtle but I see the resemblance at the toe box. I cut a part of the video out that talked about Jordan brand's initiative to design the 31 and up series with a foundation of the OG model (1-X) and how over the years they've moved further and further away from the OG. My hunch was that it kind of stifles what they can do creatively with a design when you have the so to speak elephant in the room. The 38 featured some colorways that resembled the OG 8s and had the X on the outsole to pay homage to the 8s forefoot strap but other than that it wasn't heavy on the nostalgia.
I believe a bunch of reviewers have fully misunderstood J Type 39, not You! Through market analysis, Jordan shoes in the last decade were often purchased as a fashion accessory, at least 97% of buyers ( m/w ) will buy them for the image and the good looks to wear them every day in the neighborhood, city, or village, to be on their feet all day. In terms of appearance and comfort, they go well with most tracksuits and cargo pants, and simply catch the eye in a good way. Remember, 97% of users enjoy following sports on television, and in that regard, I think this is a bullseye. If you are looking for Jordan shoes for basketball, there is the Jordan Doncic in Jordan Lineup! They are like the Mercedes SL, a grand tourer, perfect in every way, made of the finest materials, but not for racing, rather for cruising and showing off ;)
That was a really nice response, thank you! That's Great point, Jordan brand emphasized this was a shoe with a lot of input from MJ himself and what you have is a shoe that looks good and probably intended for use on and off the court. Thank you!
Used for 4 hoop sessions. And wore them tonight for a shoot around session. That ZoomX is already not feeling as plush and that’s less than two weeks of owning them. Same foolishness that was with the Kobe 4, 8 and 9 with the lunarlon bottoming out. They were comfortable at first. Totally different feel at this point from when I first purchased them. It’s Air Jordan. There is no way they were just going to put ZoomX only in the shoe.
Great point, I hated HATED lunarlon in my Kobe 8s. I ended up taking the insoles out and putting my LeBron 11 insoles in there. It was a tight fit but BUT much more comfortable. With that said if not zoom x, maybe just a beefy full length zoom unit? That would've been perfect.
