Same issue for me since new on my 21 Longhorn. Currently back at dealer for the last straight month. They replaced the battery due to low state of charge, but sadly codes showed back up a day later. No solution yet.
I think it is bs. My brother has a 2022 Limited and he had the same issue. Truck sat at the dealer for almost a month because they were having trouble getting a new rear battery.
@@jonwoods1981 I decided to go to another auto parts store(Advanced Auto) to get my battery/truck tested. I didn't say anything to them about what was going on and that I had went to AutoZone two days prior. I told them I had to jump my truck to get it started. Basically they hooked up to the battery and had me hold the rpm's steady between 2000 and 3000(AutoZone didn't have me do that). Their testing equipment was different. They told me for sure it was the battery and not the alternator, because they were able to test both. I'm not sure if I made a mistake but my truck is running great with the new battery this evening. I was in a bit of a pickle and had to make a decision.
For a 2019 RAM Limited; I had a situation where the truck wouldn't shift. I did not have a battery problem. I started up and left my home; drove less than a 1/4 mile and came to a stop at a light. Light turned green and I made a U-turn and just like that it would not shift out of 1st. So I pulled to the shoulder, came to a full stop, shifted to park and then back to drive and continued on my way and the truck drove normally and shifted properly. Has not happened since and don't know what caused that.
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn. 2 days ago truck wouldn't start had to jump, then the next day I had to jump it. The only lights on were the traction control and service engine light, but they weren't always on at the same time. Had AutoZone check the battery and they were fairly certain I have a bad alternator. Today I had to jump it, but the truck wouldn't shift out of first gear. I didn't know about shifting into N then back to D until I saw your video. I bought the truck used with about 23,000 miles and I purchased an extended warranty and my truck is still covered, but I hope they cover the alternator because they are expensive! Calling the warranty company soon.
Update: I did learn that my Zurich warranty does cover alternators. Drop truck off at mechanic tomorrow and they will run diagnostics to determine if it is actually the alternator, or hopefully at least something that is covered by the warranty...Lol!
@@angelcabrera310 Before I took my truck to the mechanic I decided to have it tested at Advanced Auto. I didn't tell them that I took it to AutoZone and that they said it was likely the alternator. All I said was I just had to jump my truck to get it started. Their testing device(not sure what to call it) was different from what AutoZone used. So anyways, they told me they were able to determine if it was the battery, alternator, and I think they said the starter as well(but I'm not sure on that). So basically they hooked up to my battery, had me start the truck and hold the RPM's between 2000 and 3000 for about 10 seconds or so. They told me the battery was bad. So I bought a battery, they connected it for me and my truck has been working perfectly since then. I got a little bit of money off for a core exchange and if you're a Veteran, you can get an additional discount. I can't say for sure that your truck battery is bad as well, but I hope this helps.
I just experienced this yesterday, replaced the battery but the U1267 Code is still showing and my backup camera is not even an option on my 12 in screen 😢
I had the same problem. Yes the battery suddenly goes dead, but whats causing the battery to die? My 2017 Challenger which had the original battery and the car is driven maybe once every 2 weeks, and the battery was still going strong. I replaced it just to be sure. My 2021 Ram 1500 limited is a daily driver yet the battery went dead with 20k. Dealer put in another battery and said that battery was bad so they put in another one. Something is causing these batterys to die way before their time.
So this just happened to me today. I have a 2019 1500 big horn. Your video helped me get it to the shop. I’m hoping it’s just a battery, I’ve allready prepared for the worst.
I'm glad the video helped. I'm also sorry to hear you are having the same issue and hopefully it is only the battery. I wish manufactures would see these issues "Folks who do not drive far day to day having the battery issues because the system can not recharge" and create some time of charging alternative.
My 2019 Ram also having shifting issues. Really hard clunking shifts from 1st to 2nd. Doesn’t happen all the time, intermittent issue. Usually from cold starts and first driving. Once warmed up and driving a few miles seems to shift ok. Only driving after a cold start the transmission shifts badly from 1st to 2nd with loud clunking noise and jerks hard when it shifts… It’s a 2019 Ram with only 29k miles.
This cover is a piece of SHIT! Had a dealer install it on my 22 Silverado and it leaked every time it rained. I took it back to the dealer and they worked on it, and it still leaking every time it rained they gave up and installed a replacement and leaked whenever it rains going back to the dealer again. ( the replacement took a month before it came in to be installed) Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a ten dollar tarp and it will do the same job maybe better?
My Ram did the exact thing yesterday going to lunch, bought a new battery, popped it in and problem solved!!! Thanx for the video man for a second I thought I was going to get a new transmission 😅
Is this the battery in the engine compartment or the one behind the rear seat? Is this the 5.7 hemi with the motor generator? I had to have my MG replaced the bearing failed. Waited 2.5 months to get it replaced. Fortunately it was warranty work. Truck has 40k miles.
Dealer replaced the battery as it was covered under warranty. The dealer cleared all codes after the replacement. If your cluster still looks like an Xmas tree just go to a ram dealer and ask them to clear the codes.
After testing the battery multiple times the dealer found a dead cell. Had to replace the battery. Now I ensure I take a scenic trip every month to prolong the health of the new battery
U and anyone believing a dead batt cell is some hard to find you are doing stupid. Keep the B's video you know dick about jfs n smfh just save the bullshit unless ur smart enough to know if the dealer that had u sucking their dick while believing the lie I gotta stop n fkn quit you sound like a huge jack ass oh ya get guys my truck was built to be driven a min of 30 min every time it's started lmfao holy hell bud the dealer lied prob a recall you paid for so did dodge smfh it's a very common practice suggestion: fing a fkn mechanic whom you tf speak to who touches your vehicle not a cock smoker paid to sell u bullshit like service advisor at every known dealership jfc.
Just happened to me yesterday. Had to quick jump start it but then had the shifting problem. Disconnected battery and transmission reset and fixed issue. Clue was no indicator on 2WD/4WD and weird service messages. I will replace my battery because it happened back in June, battery tested fine and cleaned corrosion off terminals drove it every day no problem till this trip to OK.
Same kind of issue truck threw all kind of errors and instrument cluster lights then ignition stuck in run without starting. Triedd to jump and couldnt turn it off and it smoked the cables. Towed to Rythm Ram in Nashville and they said dead battery charged it up $126.00 and good to go. 2 days later same thing another tow and $400.00 at Beaman Ram and theytell me it is bad battery WTH
From what I understand with the battery in our trucks is it take 10 tries from the service group to find out it has a dead cell. The worst thing the dealer can do is try to charge it. Mine at the time was covered under warranty so I immediately said to place a new one in.
Beautiful truck and very nice neighborhood. You got a great deal on that cover and it included installation. And you got some extra's (the storage case). Lucky you! I just installed this cover myself on a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Boy oh boy where do I begin. What should have taken about an hour took me 3 hours. There were 2 rails and several clamps that were nowhere to be found in the installation instructions. And because my truck has a composite bed liner (not sprayed on but more like plastic) the rails had nothing to attach to - ahhhhh so that's why there are extra rails but how do they fit since there's no instructions for them. So I called them and learned they include "generic" installation instructions and not specific to my truck. After waiting on hold for about 20 minutes the service rep emailed me a PDF with the added instructions for my truck. Even the new instructions were badly lacking. I was ready to send it back when I decided to toss the directions and figured it out myself. In addition, I did not get the bulkhead seal strip and the drain tube is the wrong size for my vehicle. So off to the hardware store! Its now installed and it seems to be a good product HOWEVER they need to get their act together with installation instructions and include the correct tubing and seals.
He said he got the Undercover UltraFlex installed for just under $800? Thats a hell'va deal as their site has them listed for $1000 without shipping, tax, and once you get it you have to install it yourself at that price.
@@mycobrahatesyou I know great right 😎👍 I haven't worked since they pay me more to not work. It's the greatest. So keep working and pay those taxes so I can stay home and watch RU-vid all day 😎👍
Just an FYI, Ultraflex now has RamBox and Multitfunction tailgate models. Thinking seriously about this one vs the BakFlip MX4. Picking up my 2021 Limited this Thursday!! :-)
*The cover itself is great! **do7.pl/TonneauCover** It's made with high quality components, feels solid, looks great, and is generally everything it claims to be. I love the design consideration of the drain tubes to help keep the bed dry -- nice work! My only comment for improvement is on the instructions (my version "Modified June 2019"). First, there is no instruction given on the forward-to-rear positioning of the mounting rails along the bed. The rails are slightly shorter than the bed so should the extra space be at the front (bulkhead), or the rear and up tight to the bulkhead, or split 50/50 with the rear? If it doesn't matter, simply stating that would help those of us who really want to properly install. Second, there is a simple instruction "Install the Bulkhead Seal to the front rail of the truck bed and cut to length". Should the seal be applied to the horizontal or vertical face of the front rail? A picture would be great. These are easy things to fix and all that stands between a great product and a perfect product!*
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Cole Kasen Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have a 2019 ,2500 with rambox. Just installed the MX4. It fits fine and looks very slick. Easy to install, don't have to modify anything. Only issue I had to adjust the latches to make it lock.
@@jonwoods1981 thanks for making this video you helped me make up my mind today :). Just bought 2020 RAM Limited w/rambox and color is black so want perfect match. THANKS!!!
@@jonwoods1981 just got installed and looks great but noticed when shutting the tailgate sometimes seems like I have to slam it in order to shut. If I try and shut slow sometimes won't shut at all it's like the tailgate clip is stuck unless I really slam it. Did you have this issue? I wonder if the rails is hanging out too far or something???
@@DavidFlores-du3rm No slamming needed on mine. You may want to check those rails. Check to ensure you can open the tailgate from the fob or internal button release. It should be able to open with using your hand. If not then the fit is too tight IMO.
@@jonwoods1981 Yup. Watched it twice! Really though I was going with the Lomax until I came across this Undercover Ultra Flex. Only concern is the issue with the tailgate fit on RAM trucks, along with the fact that their site doesn't show an option for 2021 RAM trucks. Only F-150 5'7 beds.
