Beautiful truck and very nice neighborhood. You got a great deal on that cover and it included installation. And you got some extra's (the storage case). Lucky you! I just installed this cover myself on a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Boy oh boy where do I begin. What should have taken about an hour took me 3 hours. There were 2 rails and several clamps that were nowhere to be found in the installation instructions. And because my truck has a composite bed liner (not sprayed on but more like plastic) the rails had nothing to attach to - ahhhhh so that's why there are extra rails but how do they fit since there's no instructions for them. So I called them and learned they include "generic" installation instructions and not specific to my truck. After waiting on hold for about 20 minutes the service rep emailed me a PDF with the added instructions for my truck. Even the new instructions were badly lacking. I was ready to send it back when I decided to toss the directions and figured it out myself. In addition, I did not get the bulkhead seal strip and the drain tube is the wrong size for my vehicle. So off to the hardware store! Its now installed and it seems to be a good product HOWEVER they need to get their act together with installation instructions and include the correct tubing and seals.
@@jonwoods1981 Yup. Watched it twice! Really though I was going with the Lomax until I came across this Undercover Ultra Flex. Only concern is the issue with the tailgate fit on RAM trucks, along with the fact that their site doesn't show an option for 2021 RAM trucks. Only F-150 5'7 beds.
Zeke Man Glad to hear it. I’m getting rid of my truck already and ordering a 2019 Limited with the RAM boxes in which I will buy another Ultraflex for.
Just an FYI, Ultraflex now has RamBox and Multitfunction tailgate models. Thinking seriously about this one vs the BakFlip MX4. Picking up my 2021 Limited this Thursday!! :-)
Chris Gillenwater unfortunately I got rid of the truck and all accessories I had on it. I now have a 2019 Ram 1500 with Ramboxes. I immediately called to get the same cover but was told Undercover had no plans to make one for the ram box. So yes I would certainly buy the cover again. I’m now looking at a Lomax cover but not side I like the no tri fold
How is it for denting? I am looking to buy the same one . But I am worried the it will scratch and dent easy. I seen one in a parking lot . Not this one but I think it was a bak flip. Anyway it was all dented up . Looked like crap. I talked to the guy and he said it was just from putting his helmet on it and other light stuff . He said he never abused it . And would never buy a aluminum cover again. So I am asking other people that have this cover if they have any dents or searches on it . Please let me know thanks .
Joe Rutkowsky since this video my kids have walked on it and the wife has tossed keys, purses and other objects on it and I have not found a dent or scratch. I like to research the heck out of anything I buy and very anal about the quality of products that go on my truck. That being said I’m extremely impressed and satisfied with this cover. I actually make these folding covers, ultras and chroma flex are the ones that are really prone to scratching, I'd recommend armor flex or the standard flex if it's getting heavy duty use
Something that has bugged me about these covers and hopefully someone who either has one of these or something similar can answer this. Looking at this design, is it possible to use a metal coat hanger, slide it under the rear rubber seal at the tail gate and just hook the wire/cord used to open this? They look great but I have been holding off on buying one of these precisely because this question has been bugging me. Great looking truck btw.
C F I can confirm entry is available by means of a hanger. I did try that before I got rid of my truck. I was actually looking for another cover to fit my 2019 Ram with ramboxes and thought Ultraflex would have addressed this issue but they do not make a cover for the ramboxes nor do they have intentions to do so. I’ve heard that the hanger tool does not work on lomax covers but I’m on the fence on what cover to go with. At the end of the day if your looking for a fool proof cover you will want to get a rolling lock cover.
I have owned several bakflip covers and this last truck a 2020 Ram 3500 I decided to try the Ultra Flex. So my take is this Bakflip has nothing to worry about Ultra Flex are no where near as good in any way. Save yourself some Aggravation and just get a bakflip.

WTXRebel If you had the tool chest in the front of the bed pulled back about 10” and was lower than the cover than yes. I’d have to see what Chest your looking at though.
Mando P - I get very little water in my bed unless I’m using the power washer which is to be expected. I would think just about every cover would allow some water in as none of them can create that tight of a seal.
Edy Kam This truck did not come with the bed extension. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited now that has the tail system and cargo management and I just ordered a Lomax cover to test with. I’ll video that as well. The reason I did not go with another undercover is because they have no plans to make a cover to fit the ramboxes.
Yeah,i had a bed extended n tonneu box so i try use some couple bed already but cannot flip the bed extended without open the rail,,so is complicated,,so i wondering this will no need to open the rail or not if flip the bed extended before i buyed,tq
You could install a piece of aluminum across the opening where the wire is you could still reach under it with the tailgate down and grab it but nobody would be able to get a toad hanger in there to open it maybe a couple of screws and a flat piece of aluminum across that opening there I think that would probably fix it
He said he got the Undercover UltraFlex installed for just under $800? Thats a hell'va deal as their site has them listed for $1000 without shipping, tax, and once you get it you have to install it yourself at that price.

Hey George, I traded in this truck and cover for a 2019 Ram Limited and since the Under Cover Ultra flex was not available for the 2019 w/ram boxes, I went with the Lomax cover. I like it a lot but still prefer the Ultraflex. I did see here a couple months back that Under Cover did come out with the ultraflex for 2019's w/ram boxes so if I get a wild hair and buy one I'll let you know.
Thieves use a clothes hanger to hook & pull that cord to open the cover. Its silly that these companies all have the same pull down cord for these covers!
guess no one did a comparison with the g4elite. in the beginning of the video, you state that the rubber gaskets keep moist out, so why are drains necessary. below someone stated that a coat hanger can be fished under the edge and the release cord pulled to defeat the locking of the tailgate. to open the unit, you must open the tailgate, then pull the release cord to open the cover. if you simply wish to quickly place an item inside the bed, you must open the tailgate, slip in the item, open the tonneau cover, close the tailgate, then close the tonneau cover. no mention was made in regard to access into your truck bed directly behind the rear window, so I assume that is not possible with this unit. I will, however, agree with you that riding down the interstate with your tonneau cover open and propped against the rear of your cab is a very bad idea. after reading your remarks to anna fraser, I find it a bit disturbing that you'd continue to publish a video endorsing a product that you have no confidence in, just 5 months ago.
I'm not entirely sure why, but I find your comment a bit disturbing and it appears you have a tenuous grasp on tonneau covers in general. Virtually all folding and roll-up tonneau covers are aftermarket. Without extensive drilling into your bed rails, which is probably the main reason Ford and others don't offer a cover out of the factory, it is nearly impossible to prevent moisture from entering the bed. You brought up the G4Elite, so here is a comment from a Fold-a-Cover representative that took me 1 minute to find: "Folding tonneau covers, by nature, are not and cannot be 100% waterproof. Our cover has been tested to be 98% water resistant during natural rainfall. This is a relative term, meaning that the more water that lands on top of your truck bed, say during torrential rains or in a high-pressure carwash, the more likely you will see water enter your truck bed." Feel free to google that; it will take you right to their website. This is why the drain tube is necessary. As for security, covers are a deterrent and if someone wants to get in they will, whether it is using a knife, a pry bar, or a freaking sawzall. Keep precious cargo in your cabin, avoid sketchy areas, or get creative and install an alarm underneath the cover. You are correct about not being able to open the UltraFlex from behind the window, but the G4Elite can't even fold up all the way and you lose 1.5-2 ft of top space. There are trade offs with all covers. I'm not aware of Jon Wood's prior video and I won't look it up, but I suggest you do your own research, think for yourself, and take what you hear and see online with a grain of salt. He did a good job making a short review, he responds to comments, and I highly doubt he is being paid by UltraFlex to swindle you out of getting a different cover, but if that is the case read my last sentence.

If i was in the U S and purchased there i could in theory beat the taxes and duties in Canada by installing at the source and driving home with the cover installed but i would still have to pay in U S dollars and the exchange rate is not great , i will purchase at Action Car and Truck Accesories in my town and be done with it , again thanks for your rely !
This cover is a piece of SHIT! Had a dealer install it on my 22 Silverado and it leaked every time it rained. I took it back to the dealer and they worked on it, and it still leaking every time it rained they gave up and installed a replacement and leaked whenever it rains going back to the dealer again. ( the replacement took a month before it came in to be installed) Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a ten dollar tarp and it will do the same job maybe better?
