The security guards actions are inexcusable. That being said, the kids parents could have taught them some common sense. Ive seen the same scenario played out by an on-duty police officer
Im not saying the suspect did the right thing because we dont know enough right now BUT if what the reporter is saying is true that an argument did escalate and one of the kids did pull out an airsoft gun from his waistband the suspect could have been justified in the shooting because in the moment you can not distinguish the difference between an airsoft gun and a real gun. Many times suspects have been justifiably shot and killed by police when pointing an airsoft gun at them. But without video evidence who knows what really happened
As an ex security guard myself both of my bosses direct supervisors above me we're ex-military. One was even an ex-police officer and they both said that even though our company has armed positions, they as people who are trained to handle firearms, especially one who was an ex-police officer. Completely disagree with armed security guards with lethal weapons. Tasers and pepper spray is one thing but giving a security guard. Aegon is another thing. They said that the training for armed security guards for teaching them how to handle situations and making sure that they can handle pressure under situations is a joke Police officers go through one month to 2 months of full-time firearms training depending on the state they are in, whereas a security guard goes through anywhere from 8 to 16 hours worth of firearms training to be an armed security guard that is not nearly enough time to train them on proper use in all scenarios as well as to vet them to make sure that they are capable of handling themselves in the various different scenarios. I have a friend who used to work for Denver public schools as a security guard and he said when you started for the school you went through one month of full-time Police academy to work at DPS and even at that you were only allowed to carry a taser and pepper spray or mace. He said that you had to go through another month of training at the police academy to be able to be an armed security guard at Denver public schools and yet security guards all over the United States that are armed except for ones working in official government positions like my friend used to do at Denver public schools get 2 days worth of training with a firearm instead of the 20 to 40 days worth of training that the police have. And there are many people who feel that the police are not trained properly and do not go through enough training to be able to carry a gun. So why would we trust somebody who has 5% of the overall firearms training a police officer gets or maybe even 10% the overall firearms training that a police officer gets to carry a loaded weapon I also myself believe that if this guy was not a security guard he probably would not have been carrying the gun, but if he would have been carrying the gun I don't think he would have in this instance. Been willing to brandish it so easily and been so willing to actually pull it up and aim it at somebody. In this case, I do 100% support the district attorney in going ahead with the murder charges cuz this guy was apparently a little bit too gung-ho and refusing any type of deescalation whatsoever Even after being told multiple times that they're just BB guns and still ignoring that fact. Probably failing to ask these teens to put the guns down. I'm guessing it ended up in escalating in the guy shooting the kids. Not to mention the fact that I'm 95% sure that you could most likely see an orange ring around the tip of what would be the muzzle indicating that it is a toy gun and not a real gun granted, those orange plastic rings are not something that is a permanent attachment and can be removed having handled airsoft guns before so it might have broken off but given the fact that they were exchanging it cuz it was new enough and it was a defective product leads me to believe that there was an orange ring at the tip of the muzzle of the gun. That would also indicate that it is a toy that this guy somehow failed to notice. Yes, this is 100% on him and 100% his fault based on what the obvious evidence would be and the fact that he was not willing to listen to them or try de-escalating and he ended up shooting and killing one of them.
We had a new bagger call the police on someone open carrying in the store and she was immediately fired because he wasn't doing anything and we're an open carry state.
Like the orange tip wouldn't be the obvious tell. Security guards need ten times the scrutiny, because they are simply failed cops, and failed people. I would NEVER do that job. They think they deserve respect, but for what?

For those who don't feel like reading the Article, I got you. so basically a offDuty security guard was in plaza parking lot waiting for his son's martial arts thing to be over. He stated that he regularly watches the plaza to make sure nothing happens in it. So it's safer for him and his son. He then saw 3 teenagers walk into the store with what he assumed to be guns and he thought it was going to be an armed robbery, so instead of calling the cops or letting anyone know what he was doing. He approached the teenagers with his gun drawn and pointed at them, he claims he didnt but the footage showed him doing it. He told them to drop the guns which one of the teenagers did. He threw his to the ground while they were telling him that it was fake. Then the dude grabbed one of the kids who threw his gun down and put him to the ground where he said that he saw the other kid put his hand on the handle of the gun that he had. that's when he proceeded to unload the entire clip into that teenager. From there, the police were called. They watched the video and everything like that. And they concluded that the dude was in the wrong and he lied on part of his statement, he now has a 2 million dollar bail
I mean, would you actually rather be a perpetually starving, desease riddled African tribal peasant where all you know is warefare, death and slavery, or would you rather just complain about the state of the world on the internet from the comfort of your modern day home? Yeah, this country is corrupt and has no representation for its founding citizens, but come on now.
I've never seen so many bad drivers. Spokane drivers are so bad. They don't know how to use their blinkers. They don't drive correctly, they don't stop correctly. They drive to Close to Your Car on Their Rear. You're completely morn here. They're the worst drivers I've ever seen. What's going on? Why don't you do a drug testing and stop these idiot drivers? They're everywhere. I'm just waiting for my moment to help. Stop driving. So stupid Spokane, I've never seen so many gum drivers. Do you know what a blinker is blinker no it's between your eyes
So, can we talk about who let their kids out in public with guns that look real? Should have had an orange tip, or a flag on it. Something to indicate it was a toy. If not inside of the box or a case. Situation shoukd have never happened for multiple reasons, this is only one contributing factor. But had it been considered, this could have been prevented.

Something doesn't small right. Why was the other reaching for his airsoft weapon? Why was more then 1 of them carrying an airsoft weapon? When did he purchase the weapon and did he have to receipt, with him, to return it?
