Yes. You need to use a sim card in it. Because, without any data, how can you browse. Though it can create wifi network but without sim card with data plan, it’s just a nothing.
@@jeffritchie825 Yes. It will work for any plan of your sim card. Let me clear. You should have a internet data plan however it's unlimited or limited plan, put that sim card in it. And use it like a router.

I am using 4/64 variant. Not facing any problem to play efootball /pes. Pubg and clash of clan is not play yet. But e football os fine to play in realme narzo 50.
You can use all the sim cards in it. If any sim card that support in your mobile device, it must be supported in this dongle. But e-sim will not supported in it.
Is your device is same as it shown in this video? If not, then this driver might not be support in it. But every device has it’s own default driver software. That will automatically install when you connect your device for the first time.
