The thing that stands out to me the most, is how much these were spaces built for people. Not the way office buildings are; office buildings are meant to CONTAIN people, they shut them off from one another, and separate them. These space are open; they welcome you in, and allow you to wander and congregate, all the while directing you where to go and how to move, without ever truly making you feel contained or concealed.
This is so magnificent, with all the colors on the structures, architectures, monuments & statues restored in full detail & everything. Now we can see it in full glory. Thanks, a lot. 😘😘😘😘 Sweet!
Love, how you show the structures, architectures, monuments & statues in all their full detail in color. None or very few have ever actually done that & we all have this false impression that all the structures, architectures, monuments & statues were white and that Rome had boring tastes in color. I'm impressed, delighted & very pleased. Thanks, a lot!
Splendid recreation. Remarkable, accuracy of the Bible, regarding the _"image of of the beast",_ --- The great Church patterned after the Roman Empire! That magnificent structure could pass for a Cathedral, filled with idolatrous statuary depicting saints, half-naked figures, rather than pagan gods. With ecclesiastical hierarchy mirroring that of Imperial Rome!
What a beautiful reconstruction. Brought back to life. Hard to believe that the romans could have built these great monuments and buildings without the knowledge and materials we have today.
Ah yes when life expectancy was 25 years old and anything over was considered elderly 😅 lovely. Oh no maximus sneezed he’s a goner! Oh no I have tooth abscess that will eat away at my jaw bone and go to my brain. I just lost my virginity, so it Looks like I’ll be dead in a fortnight.
Ah, I think I'm chauvinistic towards a country that hasn't existed for more than 500 years. Anyway, Glory and defeat are aspects of the same goddess, in a battle whoever won is because there are those who lost. The glory of Rome came about the destruction of several Carthages. Memento mortis, et vade in vitam aeternam.
Sincere thanks for what is an amazing piece of reconstruction. It makes one realize just how developed ancient Rome was and begs the question as to what the world would look like if stagnation, corruption and infighting had not led to it's downfall.
Ciao.
Beside the magnificent temples, would love to see virtual 3D shots of 3rd Century Rome to include the Insulae structures. These were the multi-story, some up to 9 stories , that housed the great majority of the Roman population . The Insulae were known to be poorly constructed and prone to collapses and fires.
So many thoughts when watching this fantastic perspective! One comes to mind besides the humanity of day-to-day people, is electricity! To think a modern city in every aspect of hustle and bustle, but no lights at night in homes, businesses, etc. And to the air quality of every structure burning fuels to light rooms, kitchens, restaurants, etc. the Romans were so modern even in today’s standards, yet so primitive! How the mind wanders!!! Incredible job!!
