I love how you add the landscaped gardens! Most "restorers" picture Rome as a city of stone and marble without a single plant, tree, or garden. It was as if the Ancient Romans went out of their way to stomp and kill every blade of greenery within the city limits. Also...when the technology is available, I think it would add a lot to show people walking about the city as well.

That final shot over the rest of the Palatine is great - it's often hard to visualize all of the other villas and mansions of the Roman aristocracy on the Palatine, when we are so used to seeing the massive Domus Flavia cover over most of it.

Magnificent Reconstructions... I used to go to the the Library in high school, which had an encyclopedia or series of books: 'Hammond's Book Of Architectural History'... It was loaded with Old Architectural History. In There it was stated that: " Too Witness Rome, at it's Height Of It's Glory... Would Be Too Witness The Greatest Architectural Sight That Would Ever Be Created By The Hand Of Mankind"! I think it's Entirely Possible and Most Likely True!

Amazing to think that the Romans could produce and transport that amount of building material, on an industrial scale, in a fairly short period of time. Most of their huge monuments were built in 5-10 years. Compare that to the Norman built Durham Cathedral which is a similar size, built 1100 years later, which took 100 years to build.

Incredible job, the double portico with the beautiful temple such a magnificent space, and the other incredible thing is how small is the "palace" of Augustus, the ego of the emperors will get out of control after his death, the palace of Tiberius and Caligula is much more big, then the Humongous palaces of Nero (the golden house) and Domitian reflect very well how the republican austerity was replaced for eastern decadence.

This is amazing!! Keep up the good work! I'm enjoying all of your videos One thing that I cannot completely figure out are the sculptures: did the material they were built on (bronze or marble) determine if statues were coloured or not? I have seen in your videos that some statues you recreate - but not all - are coloured. I'm intrigued by this because the information out there is very misleading (thanks Michelangelo!)... I think the reality lies somewhere in between the "all-white-sculptures" and the "bright-fluorescent-sculptures", but I'm interested in learning more and understanding why you decided to keep some of these in bronze.
