This is exactly why osrs players afk everything in the background until they can finally play the game lol. Im not training skills unless i have some movie or shows to watch, or if i can do it while working my 9-5. Such a unique game.
fishing trawler needs to either be reworked or die. got full angler at 49 runs, was not enjoyable. did 10 pushups at the end of each run tho so it wasnt unproductive
Fishing is an awful skill to level. Especially through the 80s. With no access to upgraded poles yet. Just grinding low xp catch with an augmented fishomatic at 62k/hr waiting for the 90s.
I just got 99 runecraft today. It took 56 days of soul runes from level 90. I work from home, so I had it set up on a second monitor and literally worked it like a second job while I worked my real job. I'm glad I came across your video today. It put very well how it feels to make it to 99 in a skill. Fishing was one of my first few 99s. I enjoyed it a lot, actually. I fished monkfish when I felt like AFKing, and did minnows when I felt like paying attention. Gz on the 99 btw. I recommend woodcutting or firemaking next.

I'm three months late, the algorithm gave me this, but this video speaks to me on a fundamental level. As a kid playing RS2 in 2007, I worked my ass off fishing monkfish to get 99. It was my first 99, and I felt so accomplished with it. Now, here I am, 16 years later, and I'm doing it again. Congratulations, I am genuinely proud of your accomplishment.
Congrats on 99! you encapsulated everything I feel about runescape. As a person who doesn't follow many goals and plans through the end I felt the idea of doing something so mind-numbing for hours a challenge worth taking. And that goes for a bunch of goals in the game too, getting a quest cape, achievement cape etc. After achieving those, I made an ironman account and I'm now planning to get to the pvm endgame in the next few years (hopefully) 😅
Omg I could not drop fish that much. I do tempoross for my fishing in my iron simply because I hate dropping stuff so much. That would drive me nuts. Huge gratz on the 99 and sticking it out!!!!
GZ beast. I did 92-99 almost solely at Tempoross, as I felt way more motivated knowing I would be making some money (+ log slots and pet chance) in the process.
yeah i wish i fished anglers or something so that at least i made some cash, but sooooo slow. tempoross was fun but not afk enough for me to fish at work so couldn’t do it as my main skiller
fishing at barbarian is designed to get you cooking/herblore/strengh/agility incremental gains with engineered proactive gameplay through inventory management and tic manipulation. Either you fully afk fishing or play actively. Imho Temporos doesn't give enough xp, if players feel incentivised to drain at barbarian spot with fish dropping something is very wrong. In rs3, the issue is solved by: Early and midgame game a minigame that you can do twice a day that provide outfit and QoL items, which is very active and doesn't produce any fish. It is very strong xp until lvl50 or so then it is still good but less impactfull Midgame a fishing spot that involves fishing in menaphos with reputation enhancements(longer pools, increased rates) Mid and late game: - a more active method which includes spells and prayers - all the jagex mongoloïd events like summer party fishing spots and so on which have way higher rates - a very afk area with mediocre rates that give an ridiculously small chance at getting the mythic fishing rod that almost nobody has - Croesus(works also for wc, mining and hunter) which is the modern rs skilling boss, which don't get me wrong is order of magnitudes times better than any osrs skilling bosses btw Late game only: - dream of Aia: fully afk area that has good rates which consumes daily resource and where you gather as long as you have resource and do not disconnect (6 skills have that mechanic, and it is pretty good, it's profitable + it makes sense in the lore) - arc fishing: content unique to rs3 with high lvl gathering nodes, including fishing which get you combo food (so it's big money) - waterfall fishing(rs3 priff which is fairly afk with ok rates) In comparison OSRS has: - fishing spot where botting and macroing players are killing the economy - a boss that has a xp curve normalized with the worst skilling methods - a spot designed to be multiskill high skillcap training where everybody and their mother go and dump their fish on the ground like tards
I have access to a treasure trove of evidence of my rule violations on my original account from 2006. I was 14. Most of the stuff is nonsensical flame wars, but some is quite interesting insight into the minds of those young players. In one several players scoff at the idea I’d reached combat level 18 in one day (I had a “high level”friend to help me). One of the most curious things is that I seemed to strike up conversations with strangers all the time and open up to them. As an adult that’s something I never do. I won’t even have a “real” conversation with someone until I’ve gotten to know them a bit.
I've been afk'ing this while driving cross country. One click drop enabled. I'm only level 86 currently. I was going to stop at 91 for the diary and just boost.. Had to stop in and click on this video. This grind is sooooo long at 40 to 45k exp an hour 😭 I use my mobile hotspot so every few hours I get the break of just losing service and staying off for awhile until it reboots.
the grind is so so long but its so peaceful - i love fishing on mobile. now that ive done construction i have a newfound appreciation for the peace of an afk-able skill hahah. i believe in you!!

For anyone struggling with a grind. I HIGHLY recommend the "Prestige" plugin in RL. At 92, it resets you to level 1 and doubles your XP rates (only visualy ofc), so it makes the rush last a bit longer.
i actually put in the fine print of the video that i REFUSE hahaha - i just do a lot of skilling while at work so i dont mind a more afk method, even if it’s slower
