Great video! If you edit on davinci resolve I would recommend downloading a free power grade to make you footage look like 16mm. They work really well and there’s plenty on tutorials on RU-vid on how to use them.

with regard to this editing and the way it looks-it looks like film almost entirely. that said, becoming essentially a video editor is to become an analyst, a dissector, a scientist instead of an artist. because of the cost of film, and it’s relative scarcity, the use of film requires sacrifice. digital never requires any sacrifice. think of a painter with a blank canvass-the entire subjective world rests at the edge of his brush, yet he must sacrifice all possibilities for what the subject of his painting will be. with film, innumerable possible shots must be considered well before the photo is taken, and the photo must be thoughtful and taken artfully. a digital camera requires none of this process, and can take as many photos as possible. half of the realization of art is not solely in the final product, but is in the process of sacrifice that creates structure, appearance, content, and form. digital is fun, sure, but there is an inherent something lacking in it, and using it to imitate film resembles the use of plastic roses to imitate the real ones.

Your grain is cool, but it doesn't show up in the upload. To fix this, use the AV1 codec or change the grain setting in your NLE to "monochromatic". Black and white-derived grain compresses better than color-based grain.
