This channel concerns anything related to being a gigging musician. Gear, methods, stories, performances, recording, tips, advice, jokes, etc. If you're doing the bar and grill tour, you'll relate.
I set the Aux masters on the UI to unity gain. I adjust the volume on the wedge to suit the performer. On my cheap Alto wedges, that's usually about half way on the knob on the back of the wedge. It would vary depending on the wedge.
Hi! I have the Orange CR60, and I'm thinking the same thing , though I love the tones on my Orange I think it might be a nice upgrade, did you get the TM?
My guess is that all the auxes were assigned to a common DCA, and if that DCA was either muted or turned all the way down that would explain why you had level on all the aux mix masters, but no audio coming out of the XLR outputs.
That would do it, but I don't think that was the case. There were certainly no aux masters assigned to DCAs in the show I called up. We had another tech look at it as well. I think most likely it was the beer bath it took on the previous gig.
@@dankurydotcom Neither we, nor the repair tech we went to could get them to work. We sold it it and bought a new one. This one lives in a road case, and is kept away from wayward beer bottles. I don't know if it ever worked again. It was an "as is" sale with full disclosure.
interesting, wit the Tele I preferred Amp1 (TM) as amp 2 sounded flatter, for all the others I picked the DR as it just had more sparkle, more life. So I score 1 for the TM and 3 for the DR... in isolation, without the comparison, I would likely just want to add a little top end to the TM, and wouldn't know. Great comparison, how was it in the room? More or less obvious?
Thanks! In the room the most noticeable thing was that the DR could get louder than the TM, even at the 100w setting on the TM. Tube watts are somehow different. The TM is also more compressed, which is good or bad depending on your taste. I did prefer the nice digital reverb on the TM over the spring reverb in my DR, again a personal taste thing.
@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer that's useful information. I generally just grab a Pro Junior IV for gigs (Chicago Blues in the main), and seldom get it above 4 or 5 on the volume, so use a Nobels ODR-1 to give a little hair when the guitar vol is full. I'd been thinking about a Princeton as likely similar vol to the Pro Junior, but the TM DR with the attenuator is very interesting for my needs... Given the choice, would you go... Princeton Reverb Deluxe Reverb with attenuator Or TM DR? Guessing very little difference in feel when playing, be interested to know which you would purchase.
@@joncurle5407 At my age (73) I'd be using the TM Deluxe. I've been running sound for a band where the guitarist uses a TM Twin. He's running it on the 12w setting and it sounds as good as the vintage Deluxe he used before. At least it does out front. I most likely would go for the blond TM Deluxe. My last guitar gigs were back in 2021 and I used a 65Amps London Pro head for the rock band, and a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia head for the country gig. I used a small 1x12 cab with both. If I were carrying stuff every weekend, it likely would be the TM Deluxe. That entire amp likely weighs less than the Carmen Ghia head alone. I know that Uncle Larry says, "Good tone is heavy and hard to carry." but at my age some compromises are necessary.
When I disable the hotspot and wifi I can't connect to the Lan. However when I enable the hotspot back on then connect through the Lan I can connect and I'm assuming the flashing strobing yellow light means I on the Lan connection.
@@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer thanks. I'm going to power cycle to try to get the HDMI out to work whenever I get off work today. And I got the wireless to work on my laptop and phone and will try the lan again. If I get the HDMI to work I'll be happy enough.
@@mandelharvey3429 As far as I know, the HDMI output on the 12 and 16 were never activated, only on the 24. It is strictly for decoration. I could be wrong as I've never tried it. Does anybody out there know?
I wish I would've found your channel a long time ago. I had the ui24r but sold everything... determined not to play drums and run sound anymore haha. A couple weeks later I got a call to run sound for a small acoustic show. I found a cheap ui16. I think the guy tried ripping me off cause it wasn't working when i got home. I did a reset and it was good as new. Anyway, I've been missing the additional aux channels from the ui24r. this tip gets me back in the game.
Great information. I have always preferred In-Ear monitoring due to the excessive stage noise that monitors introduce - especially if the stage walls are not acoustically treated. Am I wrong?
Im a working musician every weekend and i use a tonemaster deluxe reverb or flyrig direct, This is the best bang for buck sounding amp ive ever used and light too😁👍😊
The guitarist in the band I work for uses a TM Twin. Now that he is using in-ears, he sets it for 12w. That super helps the out front mix, and it sounds excellent.
When it comes to 3 on 3 headstocks the most important question is which one stayed in tune. Unless of course you just sit at home and noodle. If you’re a gigging musician then tuning stability is the first and most important requirement.
@@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer I've played an Epiphone Les Paul for years as a rhythm guitarist without issue. The minutes i became a lead player doing loads of bluesy bends it became a huge problem. Eventually switched to the Silver Sky.
I love he TM deluxe. Finally found a perfect go to amp. Best clean, low gain sounds and pedals work well. I love playing in straight. Usually I’m a pedal guy but this I can noodle all day.
I had virtually the same thing happen with my Mackie DL32S. I took to have it serviced and they never could find the problem. I bought and keep the 16 channel version with us at all times but luckily haven’t needed it!
Hello sir I just brought ui12 and I want to use aux out as a in ear monitor and I also brought behringer pm1 but aux out signal goes to only left headphone not right side I checked everywhere to not doing pan left side and I didn't but when I checked master output it's hear left and right If you have any solution please let me know Thank you for advance
I took a brief look at this PM1. This is a passive unit expecting a stereo output from a headphone amp. The Aux outs on the UI are line level, not amplified. I'm surprised you hear anything at all. What you need to come directly out of the UI Auxes is the Behringer P1 or P2. The P1 will let you run stereo or mono with regular xlr cables. Also, if you want stereo in your phones, you will have to link two Auxes together in the UI for that. The P2 will run mono with a regular xlr, but you would need a special cable to run stereo. Check them out on the Behringer website. Hope this helps.
This is well done - thanks! I'm just learning how to use a Ui16 and I'm pretty happy with how user friendly it is. The only thing that I think is kind of missing from your video insofar as setting things up is making certain you set the gain. I didn't know you could customize your display to get rid of channels you don't use - that's awesome! Thanks for the tip!
That looks good! I’m an Apple guy and I’ve never had any trouble with them but if the rest of the guys have other kinds, that’s ok, too. Thanks for all you do!
this tutorial is exactly how my UI24 works. I too wish you could lock out the other auxes. I will give the iPhone to the band member and say mix your AUX1 to your hearts content and give them no other options.
Hi Bob, thanks so much for this video: I've just had this very bad experience yesterday night. My Ipad did not want to connect and so I've finally used my Iphone to get the mixer acccessible. I have to say that this mixer is great because it's not heavy, pretty small and have a lot of routing and FX options but what a shame being dependent of this f*** wifi connection !
There needs to be more live demos of amps. Amps change when you get them to gig volumes. I've played a Twin Reverb TM at at music store and loved it but it really matters to me how it responds live. Thanks...
For a good 3 minutes i forgot about the amp shootout and marveled at your playing. BRAVO! Ijust bought the Acoustic A40 for the reasons you mentioned but additionallynfornthe bluetooth capability. I can find nice blegrass backing tracks on RU-vid and bluetooth them to the A40. Or make my own and do the same forna 1 man band senario. I too wish the effects went through the direct out to the board. Very lightweight amp and easy to carry with guitar in the other hand.
