In 1993, a woman knocked on the door of my office. I looked up. I'd never seen her before but had the immediate thought of "I'm going to marry this woman." Turns out she was the IT person I'd been in contact with during the first two weeks at the job, and that was the first time seeing her in person, even though I didn't know who it was. It was a strange feeling when I thought that, as I'd just gotten out of a long-term relationship about 6 mos before that. We married 2 years later, and celebrated our 29th anniversary this year. I don't know if Koi No Yokan does or does not always end as in this film, but it seems that my experience follows what it could be, and did become.
As a fifteen-year-old small-town gay boy it was liberating to hear the line, "So do I." I realized that my partnering would not have to be with the hideous flamboyant stereotypes with which we were presented then. I could get someone like Brian or Max! And I think I did!
I'm not associated with HCHS in any way, but I stumbled on this video a decade ago and I still return every now and then. Just a delightful little project set to a delightful little tune.
Just graduated from Hunter, and came back to this video. It’s been barely 2 weeks and it already makes me emotional. To think I was so ready to leave until it was over… There were ups and downs but it was such a wonderful place
Having the people in the rhythm of that space for so many years has always been what made it so special - totally remember what you mean when I graduated in 2013! Congrats to graduating this year and hope you and those close to you find ways to keep in touch even past those walls!
I'm in the class of 2023, and this honestly brings tears to my eyes to watch. All of the same hallways, lockers, classrooms, but totally different faces than what I know. Very cool!
I agree that the Federal Government should NOT be involved in Education. The Federal Education department should be removed and ALL education tax dollars should remain in the States to use as they deem appropriate. I disagree with the teacher on equity which sounds good on it faces, but what it really means is equity of outcome based on your identity group. What is needed in schools is equality of opportunity to get an education and the OUTCOME is based on the student's mental ability and work ethic. Rigging the system so identity groups have the same outcome is racist.
