First time working with 16mm thanks to @mononoawarefilm ‘s Intro to 16mm (Color) crash course class - really not enough can be said about how rich the whole experience was from shooting, hand editing, and coloring, and especially the incredible community of people that Mono was able to bring together in learning and sharing their passion for analog - highly recommend jumping into their classes this coming year if you’ve got any interest in learning film.
Shot this super loose test piece just intended to see how different fields of views and lighting conditions rendered on 16mm - vibe wise/film behavior wise - single 100’ roll of 7203 50D on a Bolex Rex-5 and a Vario Switar 16-100mm zoom - most shots metered to f4.0.
Cheers to @kenwestrick_ and @a.smoll for jumping in randomly for this experiment, Kirsten for being an excellent partner and AD, and Nico and Dena for being wonderful instructors and Mono for facilitating scanning and processing, giving this a theatrical presentation at the MoMA, least of all for pulling together this full experience!
